The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Office Locations dataset was created on October 13, 2022 from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). These locations show FRA office locations, based on railroad company and Safety Management Teams (SMTs). The Safety Management Teams serve as the Office of Railroad Safety's main liaison with the senior leadership of the Nation's railroads. Each of the nine Safety Management Teams is assigned to either a Class I railroad or a group of railroads and provides safety oversight of the respective railroad system(s). The Safety Management Teams represent FRA with the railroads, and they communicate and coordinate with FRA's Staff Directors, Accident Analysis Branch, Audit Management Program, and other Safety Management Teams. The mileposts was developed from varies sources and should only be used as a reference file. The railroad lines and their mileposts are privately owned and are subjected of changed based on the rail owner. The map of the German Empire 1: 100 000 in 675 sheets is the first map of larger scale, which has been processed nationwide for the then Reich area and was therefore considered for a long time as the General Staff Card par excellence. The map was designed in polyhedral projection as a grade department map and has an extension of 30 degrees geogr. Length and 15 degrees geogr. Wide. This results in a medium map format of 35 cm x 28 cm corresponding to an area of 35 km x 28 km. The map work originally appeared in a monochrome edition, a decided multi-color edition was not completed. The cards are delivered plano.
The Railroad Bridges dataset was compiled on October 14, 2022 from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). A railroad bridge is defined as “Railroad bridge means any structure with a deck, regardless of length, which supports one or more railroad tracks, or any other undergrade structure with an individual span length of 10 feet or more located at such a depth that it is affected by live loads.” based on the Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR Part 237). The FRA does not have a mandate to inspect railroad bridges: these inspections are required by the owner of the track. The FRA will use this railroad bridge dataset to determine the number of bridges per railroad, state, etc. and will assist in determining priority field activities.

The Soil Geographical Data Base of France at Scale 1:1,000,000 is part of the European Soil Geographical Data Base of Europe. It is the resulting product of a collaborative project involving all the European Union and neighbouring countries. It is a simplified representation of the diversity and spatial variability of the soil coverage for France. The methodology used to differentiate and name the main soil types is based on the terminology of the F.A.O. legend for the Soil Map of the World at Scale 1:5,000,000. This terminology has been refined and adapted to take account of the specificities of the landscapes in Europe. It is itself founded on the distinction of the main pedogenetic processes leading to soil differentiation. The database contains a list of Soil Typological Units (STU). Besides the soil names they represent, these units are described by variables (attributes) specifying the nature and properties of the soils: for example the texture, the water regime, etc. The geographical representation was chosen at a scale corresponding to the 1:1,000,000. At this scale, it is not feasible to delineate the STUs. Therefore they are grouped into Soil Mapping Units (SMU) to form soil associations and to illustrate the functioning of pedological systems within the landscapes. Harmonisation of the soil data from the member countries is based on a dictionary giving the definition for each occurrence of the variables. Considering the scale, the precision of the variables is weak. Furthermore these variables were estimated over large areas by expert judgement rather than measured on local soil samples. This expertise results from synthesis and generalisation tasks of national or regional maps published at more detailed scales, for example 1:50,000 or 1:25,000 scales. Delineation of the Soil Mapping Units is also the result of expertise and experience. The spatial variability of soils is very important and is difficult to express at global levels of precision. Quality indices of the information (purity and confidence level) are included with the data in order to guide usage.

This ownership dataset utilizes a methodology that results in a federal ownership extent that matches the Federal Responsibility Areas (FRA) footprint from CAL FIRE's State Responsibility Areas for Fire Protection (SRA) data. FRA lands are snapped to county parcel data, thus federal ownership areas will also be snapped. Since SRA Fees were first implemented in 2011, CAL FIRE has devoted significant resources to improve the quality of SRA data. This includes comparing SRA data to data from other federal, state, and local agencies, an annual comparison to county assessor roll files, and a formal SRA review process that includes input from CAL FIRE Units. Crossed with other SIGR data sets (municipal boundaries, forest cover, etc.), this schematic data makes it possible to approach and quantify the evolution of the territories analyzed and to have an overall idea of infrastructure development. It does not cover the whole of Île-de-France but only the area of the 9 sheets at 1/50,000 centered on Paris (from Melun to Meaux, from Isle-Adam to Corbeil).
