What is the most subscribed YouTube channel? MrBeast made the first place in the ranking of the most-subscribed YouTube channels in January 2025. With 343 million subscribers, the U.S. based videographer and internet personality managed to surpass Indian music network T-Series, which held the number one place for several years, and sat at 284 million subscriber as of the examined period. How many hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute? YouTube was launched in 2005 as a platform for sharing user-generated videos such as vlogs, tutorials, or original series. The site grew rapidly and reportedly had 100 million video views per day and more than 65 thousand daily uploads only a year later. As of February 2022, more than 500 hours of video were uploaded to YouTube every minute, up from a mere 24 hours of content uploads per minute in 2010. YouTube Partner Program In the first quarter of 2024, YouTube’s ad revenue amounted to over eight billion U.S. dollars. Through its Partner Program, YouTube also rewards uploaders of popular videos with a share of the advertising revenues the content generates. This, paired with the fact that many users of the video sharing platform tend to have favorite channels that they revisit regularly, has given rise to another phenomenon: YouTube celebrities. Although some of these well-known figures were discovered on the website but then carved a successful career outside of YouTube, for many others the site is their primary platform for delivering content and staying in contact with fans, all while signing lucrative deals or promotional partnerships. Highest earning YouTubers In November 2022, MrBeast surpassed long-standing most subscribed YouTuber PewDiePie, having reached approximately 112 million subscribers. Due to the high number of subscribers and even higher number of views, these out-of-the-box stars not only have millions of fans, but also considerable earnings from their YouTube activities. In 2023, MrBeast was estimated to have earned around 82 million U.S. dollars, topping the ranking of the highest-earning YouTube creators. The ranking also included social media personality Jake Paul and Mark Fischbach, as well as Ryan Kaji from Ryan's World (formerly known as ToysReview), who started his YouTube career reviewing toys at three years old.

The Nara Association of Medical Technologists has introduced online Off-Job Training (Off-JT) starting from FY2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to evaluate the online Off-JT, which differs from the traditional face-to-face format. Firstly, we compared the online format's ability to attract participants with the face-to-face format based on the number of training sessions and attendees. Despite having fewer training sessions (40.8% less), the online format had an average attendance of 105.4% higher (39.7 vs. 19.3) than the face-to-face format. To enhance participant convenience, we offered a limited number of live and video-on-demand (VOD) sessions on YouTube, evaluating their usefulness through an online survey focusing on work-life balance (WLB). The survey results showed that 81.9% (458/559) of respondents reported an improvement in WLB. The effect on WLB improvement varied depending on the viewing method, with VOD sessions showing 84.1% (376/447) and live sessions showing 73.2% (82/112). We believe that the increased ability to attract participants in the online Off-JT is mainly due to the elimination of travel burdens through internet-connected devices. The combination of live and VOD sessions on YouTube allowed participants to adjust their viewing time, leading to better allocation of free time and improved WLB. The online Off-JT and VOD delivery have shown to enhance convenience for participants by removing geographical and time constraints, resulting in positive effects.

The Kurdish language is regarded as one of the less-resourced languages. The language is globally practised by 30-40 people. The language has 33 letters that are largely similar to the Arabic language. The Kurdish language has two major dialects Sorani and Badini. The dataset includes a collection of texts written in the Sorani dialect. It contains both tweets and comments from giant social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. Due to security reasons and following the policies of both Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, we removed the user's identity. We collected the tweets and comments which was published during the time of the Corona Virus pandemic. The tweets and comments are raw texts, and the content covers a varied range of topics, starting from politics, sports, entertainment, social life, etc. Data Labeling The Facepager was employed to crawl the comments from both Facebook and YouTube. Moreover, we used the Twitter developer to mine the tweets. The dataset was annotated manually by three Kurdish native speakers. The annotators were required to identify the classes and categories of each text. The classes included positive, negative and neutral and the categories consisted of news, technology, art, social and health. The texts which were agreed upon by at least two annotators to possess a specific label and category were regarded as conflict-free and accepted for further processing. Other texts that caused conflict among all three raters were ignored and have been removed from the dataset. The doccano program was used to help the annotators label each text one by one.

Changes in Australian viewing behaviours, marked by increased preference for subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) services like Netflix, have hurt traditional broadcasters, leading to decreased advertising demand. That's why industry revenue is expected to drop at an annualised 5.2% over the five years through 2024-25 to $3.81 billion, including an anticipated dip of 3.9% in 2024-25. Major broadcasters have launched streaming platforms like Nine’s 9Now to counter this competition, offering on-demand access to their programming. Profitability plummeted in 2020 because of the pandemic and severe budget cuts in advertising. The following year, profitability jumped back up to semi-normal levels but has trended downwards since despite cost-saving measures, including wage cuts and reduced depreciation expenses, driven by a tough advertising market. However, live sports and local light entertainment programs continue to draw viewership, with shows like The Block and MasterChef Australia maintaining popularity. Over the past few years, the major broadcasters – Seven West Media, Nine Entertainment, Ten Network Holdings and ABC – have continued to dominate the market, accounting for over 90.0% of industry revenue. Although challenged by SVOD services, they've maintained their stronghold, particularly in metropolitan areas. Even so, uniform programming is causing challenges for niche broadcasters, leading to audience fatigue. Adding more pressure, online platforms like Google, Facebook and YouTube offer targeted, advanced, data-driven advertising, attracting budgets away from traditional broadcasters. This shift has led to industry consolidation as traditional broadcasters strive to preserve profitability while new entrants struggle to compete. Although industry revenue is projected to contract at an annualised rate of 0.3% to $3.8 billion by 2029–30, Australia's sports broadcasting segment is poised for growth. Leading broadcasters like Seven West Media are set to redefine live sports viewing experiences, supported by regulations that keep nationally significant sports accessible on free-to-air television and prevent monopolisation by subscription services. Continued government funding for public broadcasters like ABC and SBS will bolster industry performance in the coming years. Still, the escalating competition from subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) services and online media platforms, particularly among younger audiences, threatens traditional broadcasters' viewership, advertising revenue and profitability.

The experiments utilized these datasets to build a system to support the design of voting advice applications.
Party manifesto data contains party manifestos uploaded before the 2021 Japanese Upper House and the 2022 House of Councillors elections from all the Japanese political parties.
YouTube comments data contains comments from the 18 most popular Japanese YouTube channels related to politics and economics uploaded between January 2021 and July 2021 (3,998,590 comments from 17,773 videos).
The research was conducted by Daniil Buryakov, Mate Kovacs, Victor Kryssanov, and Uwe Serdült.
Abstract of the paper:
The relevance and importance of voting advice applications are demonstrated by its popularity among potential voters. On average, around 30% of voters take into account the recommendations of the applications during elections. The comparison between potential voters' and parties' positions is made on the basis of VAA policy statements on which they are asked to express opinions. VAA designers devote substantial time and effort to analyzing domestic and international politics to formulate policy statements and select those to be included in the application. In this procedure, they manually read and evaluate a large volume of publicly available data, mostly party manifestos. A problematic part of this work is the limited time frame available. This study proposes a system to assist VAA designers in formulating, revising, and selecting policy statements. Using language models and machine learning methods to process politics-related textual data, the system produces a set of suggestions corresponding to relevant VAA statements. Experiments are conducted using party manifestos and YouTube comments from Japan, combined with VAA policy statements from 6 Japanese and 2 European VAAs. The technical approaches used in the system are based on the BERT language model, which is known for its capability to capture the context of words in the documents. Although the output of the system, while not completely eliminating the need for manual human assessment, it provides valuable recommendations for updating VAA policy statements on an objective, i.e., bias-free basis.
