This document is a diagram of the Street Centerline, Address and Landmark Data Model developed and adopted by the Fulton County GIS Collaboration Group (FCGCG). The development of the data model was a collaborative effort of the FCGCG and is part of an ongoing effort to remove obstacles to the sharing of data between the county and municipalities of Fulton County. The diagram includes the names and definitions of each data field of each table along with domain values and relationships. A number of conceptual diagrams are used to graphically convey the relationships among the geometric components of the models (Address Points, Centerline Segments, Structure Footprints, Landmarks). The data model is considered to be complete; however, minor modifications may be made as the model is implemented by the different jurisdictions. The diagram will be revised as needed. The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national filewith no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independentdata set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. The Address Range / Feature Name Relationship File (ADDRFN.dbf) contains a record for each address range / linear feature name relationship. The purpose of this relationship file is to identify all street names associated with each address range. An edge can have several feature names; an address range located on an edge can be associated with one or any combination of the available feature names (an address range can be linked to multiple feature names). The address range is identified by the address range identifier (ARID) attribute that can be used to link to the Address Ranges Relationship File (ADDR.dbf). The linear feature name is identified by the linear feature identifier (LINEARID) attribute that can be used to link to the Feature Names Relationship File (FEATNAMES.dbf).

This dataset represents the centerline of all streets, roads and highways in Fulton County. Each record represents a street segment between at-grade intersections. Attributes include street name elements, odd and even address ranges, feature type, zip code (left and right) and highway number.The municipalities of Chattahoochee Hills, College Park, East Point, Fairburn, Hapeville, Palmetto, South Fulton, Union City, as well as the Fulton Industrial District (FID) are actively maintained by the Fulton County GIS Division. The data for Johns Creek, Milton, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, and Roswell are obtained from the respective cities data portal or REST endpoint and incorporated into this countywide data. This dataset represents the current zoning districts for the unincorporated parts of Fulton County, Georgia. Zoning is a device of land use planning commonly used by local governments. Through zoning, governments can define common permitted uses, building heights, setbacks and similar characteristics based on geographic zones or districts, thereby segregating land uses and building characteristics believed to incompatible.

This dataset represents the base (ground-level) outline, or footprint, of buildings and other man-made structures in Fulton County, Georgia. The original data were produced by digitizing structures from 1988 aerial ortho-photography. Updates to the data are made from various aerial ortho-photography. In 2010, the data table structures was modified to include a number of attributes derived from tax assessment data through a spatial join of structures with tax parcels. The attributes include feature type (residential or commercial), structure form (conventional, ranch, colonial, etc.), number of stories, and the year built. In 2012, updates to features began using building sketch data collected by the Fulton County Tax Assessors. The building sketch data consist of turtle graphics type descriptors defining (in ungeoreferenced space) the ground-level outline of each structure in the County. These descriptors were converted to an ESRI SDE feature class using Python, georeferencing each structure by placing it in the center of its associated tax parcel. Each structure shape was is then manually translated and rotated into position using aerial imagery as a reference. As of May 2014, this update process was still in progress.This dataset is used in large-scale mapping to show the location of individual buildings and other man-made structures and in smaller-scale mapping to show general patterns of development. May also be used to estimate human population for very small areas. Other applications include the computation of impervious surfaces in stormwater studies and the development of 3-D urban models.

This dataset represents the boundaries of residential subdivisions. A subdivision is a named collection of residential lots often with limited and marked points of access. The lots and houses in a subdivision are generally similar in size and value, having been developed duing the same time period and for the same market segment. Subdivisions are important in county operations because they are often used as a locational reference by both the public and county staff. This dataset was initially created from tax assessment records. Landbase_Subdivisions is used to populate a field meant to record a subdivision name in both Trans_AddressPoints and Trans_StreetCenterlines. In both cases, the population of the field is done automatically during the execution of a SQL Server stored procedure as part of the scheduled publication process. The published version of Landbase_Subdivisions is also included in the ArcGIS dynamic map services used in a number of web mapping applications.

The property profile dataset is a compilation of information pulled from data maintained by various County departments and other agencies relating to such things as tax assessment, zoning and land use, school zones, and voting districts and integrated within Fulton County's Geographic Information System (GIS). Each record represent a single tax parcel as recorded by the Fulton County Board of Assessors for the purpose of property tax assessment. Information on each property (tax parcel) includes the parcel ID, property address, owner, appraised and assessed values, land area in acres, land use description, county commission district, county commissioner, city council person, voter district, polling place location, congressional district, senate district, schools zones, census tract and zip code.

The districts contained in this dataset reflect the 6 districts that will be effective January 01, 2015. The seventh district will be at-large which represents the entire county. This dataset is used as a general reference in mapping and for analystical tasks aimed at determining such things as the demographic make-up of the commission districts.

This dataset represents the incorporated limits of the 16 cities in Fulton county, Georgia. In the four cases where the city extends into a neighboring county--Atlanta, College Park, Mountain Park, and Palmetto--only the portions of the city that lies within the county are included. The dataset is updated following the approval of an annexation of unincorporated land by one of the cities.

The data is extracted from the census web site (https://www.census.gov/) using their API. This is then joined to 2019 U.S. census places, also obtained from the census site. This results in a spatial feature that is suitable for mapping the various methods of census response. The data is updated daily from the census.

Five commissioners are elected by geographic district and two are elected countywide, including the chair. These boundaries are effective through 2014.

The land cover inventory for the State of Ohio was produced by the digital image processing of Landsat Thematic Mapper Data. The Thematic Mapper is a multi-spectral scanner that collects electromagnetic radiation reflected from the earth's surface in the visible, near infrared and mid-infrared wavelength bands. The resolution of the Thematic Mapper data is a 30 meter by 30 meter cell. The computer analysis of the data isolates unique spectral classes that relate to land cover characteristics.

The land cover inventory was produced from Thematic Mapper data acquired in September and October 1994. The data was classified into the general land cover categories of urban, agriculture/open urban areas, shrub/scrub, wooded, open water, non-forested wetlands and barren.

The land cover information reflects the conditions of the satellite data during the specific year and season the data was acquired. The Thematic Mapper data was processed using ERDAS image processing software. The data was originally created in raster format and georeferenced to Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) zone 17 coordinates NAD27. The data can be combined with other georeferenced digital data layers.

The data is also available in its original ERDAS image format.
