Nachdem die Bundesregierung zur Entlastung der Bürger die Mehrwertsteuer von 19 auf sieben Prozent gesenkt hat, wird ab März 2024 wieder der volle Mehrwertsteuersatz fällig.

Versorgung und Verbrauch von Erdgas Der Erdgasverbrauch in der Schweiz ist seit den 1970er kontinuierlich gestiegen und lag im Jahr 2023 bei rund 2,7 Milliarden Kubikmetern. Zuletzt war die Entwicklung allerdings rückläufig. Erdgas wird hauptsächlich in der Industrie und zur Wärmeversorgung privater Haushalte eingesetzt. Die Schweiz importiert Erdgas über Pipelines. Der größte Gaslieferant war zuletzt (2021) Russland mit einem Anteil von 43 Prozent an den Gasimporten, gefolgt von Norwegen. Aktuelle Preisentwicklung Seit Anfang des Jahres 2022 zahlen alle Verbrauchertypen einen höheren Gaspreis. Zurückzuführen ist dies auf den Russland-Ukraine-Krieg. Durch wirtschaftliche Sanktionen sowie reduzierte Gaslieferungen Russlands stiegen die Gaspreise auf ein Rekordhoch. Die angestiegenen Gaspreise sowie die erwarteten Lieferengpässe beeinflussen auch die Strompreise.
