The Ohio Wetlands Inventory for Geauga County was produced from May 1987 Landsat Thematic mapper data (cell size 30 meters by 30 meters) using ERDAS Image processing software. The raster data has been converted to ARC/INFO format and exported to an interchange file.
The data was originally georeferenced to UTM zone 17 coordinates NAD 27 and is also available in this coordinate system in ERDAS Imagine format.
The class of woods on hydric soils, wet meadow and farmed wetland fall on hydric soils when digital soils data is available for the county.

This data layer contains the mine-point locations found on the 1:24,000-scale bedrock-geology maps of Ohio. The mine points were drawn on the maps to show where surface mining has affected the depiction of the bedrock geology. Detailed mapping at 1:24,000 scale was performed in Ohio from the 1960's to the 1980's. During that time period, 37 7.5-minute quadrangles were mapped in detail. The bedrock-geology mapping program was initiated at the Ohio Division of Geological Survey in 1991 to perform reconnaissance geologic mapping at 1:24,000 scale. The reconnaissance and detailed geologic mapping have been combined together into this GIS dataset. There will be edge-matching issues between the reconnaissance and detailed geologic maps.

This coverage was converted from Land Use/ Land Cover drafted with ink onto mylar overlays of USGS quadrangle maps. These overlays were scanned at 500 dots per inch resolution and converted to vector format utilizing the ARC gridline command and the ARCEDIT straighten command. Polygon codes were added by headsup digitzing. The quadrangle coverages were edgematched and joined to form a final county coverage.
