Approximate boundaries for all land parcels in New Brunswick. The boundaries are structured as Polygons. The Property Identifier number or PID is included for each parcel.
These layers contain polygon and line features representing a simplified geological map of New Brunswick (Map NR-1, 2008 Edition, Bedrock Geology of New Brunswick; PARIS - Publication Details (gnb.ca)). Note: This map is static and therefore has not been updated since the original publication date in 2008.

Health RegionsData purpose: Health regions are an important geographic unit by which health and health-related data are produced. Health regions are legislated administrative areas defined by provincial ministries of health. These administrative areas represent geographic areas of responsibility for regional health authorities. This layer contains polygon features that represent the generalized surficial geology of New Brunswick. Unconsolidated materials occurring over bedrock, are classified according to physical attributes and genesis, and categorized into map units. This layer is intended to be used at small scales (e.g., provincial scale). It is an update of the 2002 Generalized Surficial Geology Map of New Brunswick, the updates reflect re-interpretation of the geology based on additional field investigations.

A relief map of New Brunswick showing elevation by hypsometric tints (a gradation of different colours), and spot elevations. Major lakes are also shown. Elevation ranges are included in the map legend. The elevation data were derived from the map Canada-Relief, Fifth Edition, National Atlas of Canada published in 1986.
In this lesson, you will explore the Parks Canada system that includes Historic Sites, National Parks and National Marine Conservation Areas. These natural and historic features are significant because they represent the natural and cultural heritage of Canada. The Parks Canada System Web GIS Lesson Pack can be found here: http://k12.esri.ca/resourcefinder/data/files/ParksCanada_Web.zipNote: This assignment can be used as a GIS extension exercise for the Parks Canada: Places and Spaces for Everyone Activity 1 – The Parks Canada System. It is part of the Canadian Geographic Education’s Giant Floor Map Program.
Learning Outcomes
By completing this lesson, students will gain, by Province/Territory, Grade and Subject, the following curriculum-focused knowledge:
Identify and describe various characteristics of Canada’s natural environment (AB - Grade 4, 5 Social Studies; BC – Grade 5 Social Studies; MB - Grade 4, 9 Social Studies; ON - Grade 4, 9 Geography; YT – Grade 5 Social Studies; QC – Elementary, Cycle 2 Social Sciences)
Determine the spatial distribution of Parks Canada’s natural and historic features (AB - Grade 4, 5 Social Studies; MB - Grade 4, 9 Social Studies ON - Grade 4, 9 Geography; NB - Grade 4, 9 Social Studies; PE - Grade 4, 8, 10 Social Studies; NS - Grade 4, 9 Social Studies; NL - Grade 4, 9 Social Studies)

This layer contains polygon features that represent geological units in New Brunswick. The associated Bedrock Geology Relate Table contains details about each map unit, including: a brief legend description, Group name, Formation name, and rock age. This layer is the result of nearly 50 years of bedrock mapping and it continues to change as new interpretations are made and more data is collected through field work and analysis.
