    Description

    Literature review dataset

    This table lists the surveyed papers concerning the application of spatial analysis, GIS (Geographic Information Systems) as well as general geographic approaches and geostatistics, to the assessment of CoViD-19 dynamics. The period of survey is from January 1st, 2020 to December 15th, 2020. The first column lists the reference. The second lists the date of publication (preferably, the date of online publication). The third column lists the Country or the Countries and/or the subnational entities investigated. The fourth column lists the epidemiological data utilized in each paper. The fifth column lists other types of data utilized for the analysis. The sixth column lists the more traditionally statistically-based methods, if utilized. The seventh column lists the geo-statistical, GIS or geographic methods, if utilized. The eight column sums up the findings of each paper. The papers are also classified within seven thematic categories. The full references are available at the end of the table in alphabetical order.

    This table was the basis for the realization of a comprehensive geographic literature review. It aims to be a useful tool to ease the "due-diligence" activity of all the researchers interested in the spatial analysis of the pandemic.

    Description

    The Tioga County Geographic Information Tool is intended to be a parcel map viewer with additional layers of information of special interest to property owners. The parcel boundaries do not appear until the user zooms in on the map. Other layers can be turned on and off using from the layers list which can be exposed by clicking the Layer button in the upper right corner of the interface. A button at the bottom of the viewer opens a table viewer which can be used to explore the data related to each of the map layers. The table includes tools for filtering the data and selected records may be exported to a CSV file which can be opened as a text file using spreadsheet software. By default, clicking in a parcel brings up a popup of the parcel's attribute information. Popups for other layers can be enabled through the layer list. Other buttons allow the user to search for street addresses in Tioga County NY, locate the user's position using the GNSS capability of mobile devices, changing the base map, measuring distances and areas, identifying the coordinates of any location (a function of the measure tool), and displaying a legend.

    Description

    Chapter 2 of this research includes an online survey on the use of ICTs and visualization tools in real undergraduate human geography fieldwork programs. The survey was executed around the year of 2014-2015 through Survey Monkey.

    The invitation of this survey was sent through emails to approximately 80 human geography fieldwork leaders as well as several authors of geography-fieldwork-related published papers. In the end, there were 40 respondents and 34 of them answered that they have ever been involved in or carried out a human geography fieldwork and then they were continuously exposed to the rest of the survey. But the response rates of most subsequent questions were around 50% or less.

    Description

    The overall objective of this proposed study was to provide a set of web-based tools that will enable producers and other users to characterize, treat, beneficially use, and manage produced water and frac flowback water from unconventional gas production. The goal is to sustain gas production while minimizing potential impacts on natural water resources, public health, and environment. Built upon the integrated decision making framework developed for CBM produced water management, the proposed study focuses on shale gas and tight sand production, the most difficult and least developed. The proposed research was designed for 36 months and organized into four phases. The overall objective of the proposal was to develop GIS-based tools that can be used to optimize water management decisions during unconventional oil and gas development and production to minimize the environmental impact. The environmental impacts that will be directly assessed with the tool include the handling, treatment and disposal of produced water, air toxics and greenhouse gases associated with fluids handling, water footprint, and the optimal siting of wells and treatment facilities with respect to community impacts.

    eXtension Foundation, the University of New Hampshire, and Virginia Tech have developed a mapping and data exploration tool to assist Cooperative Extension staff and administrators in making strategic planning and programming decisions. The tool, called the National Extension Web-mapping Tool (or NEWT), is the key in efforts to make spatial data available within cooperative extension system. NEWT requires no GIS experience to use. NEWT provides access for CES staff and administrators to relevant spatial data at a variety of scales (national, state, county) in useful formats (maps, tables, graphs), all without the need for any experience or technical skills in Geographic Information System (GIS) software. By providing consistent access to relevant spatial data throughout the country in a format useful to CES staff and administrators, NEWT represents a significant advancement for the use of spatial technology in CES. Users of the site will be able to discover the data layers which are of most interest to them by making simple, guided choices about topics related to their work. Once the relevant data layers have been chosen, a mapping interface will allow the exploration of spatial relationships and the creation and export of maps. Extension areas to filter searches include 4-H Youth & Family, Agriculture, Business, Community, Food & Health, and Natural Resources. Users will also be able to explore data by viewing data tables and graphs. This Beta release is open for public use and feedback.     sustainable development — ‘Géoidd’ source: Initially the tool met the need to disseminate statistical and geographical data to Internet users within the framework of the Observatory of the Sea and Coast (ONML). This perimeter has been extended to the whole of France, including DOM.
