    This is release 2.0 of geoOttaWOW, a Minecraft world based on data sets used in geoOttawa. This version was created with Minecraft PC version 1.7.10, using software that supports version 1.7.*, with NBT version 19133. This smaller, improved version of the original release requires around 494Mb of disk space, so it will run on most common devices where Minecraft has been installed. The zip file is a folder that you will need to un-zip in your saves directory.We have given Ottawa a new spin, allowing us to have flat-sided buildings. Be creative and build the Ottawa you want. We have provided you with the base structure, and done all the heavy lifting. Now it’s up to you to fill in the blocks and add some new structures to Ottawa, or tear down the old. Build and explore Roads, Rails, Rivers, and Ottawa’s buildings in this Minecraft world. This version focuses in on the most popular areas of Ottawa in 2017 and those that will change the most in the year ahead. Starting at Ottawa City Hall users can explore the city, and create an Ottawa the way they want it to be. We have even added a few surprises, celebrating Canada 150.     How to Load geoOttaWOW

    1. Locate the Minecraft Saves directory

    You will first need to locate the saved file in your Minecraft "saves" folder, as that is where downloaded game files like maps are generally stored.

    What is the Minecraft "saves" folder, and how do you locate it? The folder is in your directory of Minecraft files. There are a few ways to locate it:

    Using the Minecraft Launcher:

    ·
    a. Open the Launcher, and select Edit Profile.

    ·
    b. Click the Open Game Dir option. "Dir" is short for "Directory."

    ·
    c. Your "saves" folder will be in the .minecraft directory.

    Using Windows

    ·
    a. Open the Start menu and select Run.

    ·
    b. Type (without quotes) "%appdata%.minecraft\saves" and hit Enter.

    Using Mac OS

    ·
    a. Open the Finder.

    ·
    b. Select Go and Go to Folder...

    ·
    c. When prompted, enter (without quotes) "~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves".

    Using Ubuntu Linux

    ·
    a. Open the File Manager in your Home directory

    b. In the top menu select GO and Open Location

    ·
    c. Type (without quotes) “/.minecraft/saves”

    2. Store the Minecraft Map Files

    Having located the "saves" folder, you can copy the folder to the "saves" folder.

    You can also rename your downloaded map if you like by renaming the folder.

    3. Launch Your Downloaded Minecraft Map

    If your downloaded map has been saved in the Minecraft "saves" folder, you should be able to select it when you play Minecraft when asked to select a World from your Worlds list.

    Voici la version 2.0 de geoOttaWOW, un monde Minecraft basé sur les ensembles de données utilisées dans geoOttawa. Elle a été créée pour Minecraft 1.7.10, au moyen du logiciel qui prend en charge la version 1.7*, en utilisant le format NBT 19133. Cette version réduite améliorée occupe environ 494 Mo d’espace disque, soit moins d’espace que la version originale. Elle fonctionnera donc sur la plupart des appareils courants où Minecraft est déjà installé. Le fichier ZIP est un dossier que vous devrez décompresser dans votre répertoire de sauvegarde.

    Nous avons donné une nouvelle allure à Ottawa, ce qui nous permet d’avoir des bâtiments aux côtés plats. Laissez libre cours à votre créativité et construisez une ville à votre image. Nous vous fournissons la structure de base et avons fait le gros du travail pour vous. À vous maintenant de poser les blocs et de bâtir de nouvelles structures ou d’éliminer celles qui existent déjà. Construisez et explorez des routes, des chemins de fer, des rivières et les édifices d’Ottawa dans ce monde Minecraft. Cette version met l’accent sur les secteurs les plus populaires d’Ottawa en 2017 et sur ceux qui connaîtront le plus de changements au cours de la prochaine année. L’utilisateur peut explorer Ottawa en partant de l’hôtel de ville et la modifier au gré de ses fantaisies. Nous avons même ajouté quelques surprises soulignant le 150e anniversaire du Canada.     Comment intégrer geoOttaWOW

    1. Trouvez le dossier des sauvegardes de Minecraft

    Vous devez d’abord trouver le fichier que vous avez sauvegardé. Ce dernier est dans le dossier « saves » de Minecraft, où sont habituellement répertoriés tous les fichiers téléchargés pour le jeu, comme les cartes.

    Qu’est-ce que le dossier « saves » et où se trouve-t-il? Il se trouve dans le dossier contenant tous les fichiers Minecraft. Il y a plusieurs façons d’y accéder :

    À partir du lanceur de Minecraft

    a) Ouvrez le lanceur et choisissez « Edit Profile ».

    b) Cliquez sur Open Game Dir (« Dir » est l’abréviation du mot anglais directory, qui signifie répertoire).

    c) Le dossier « saves » se trouve dans le répertoire « .minecraft ».

    À partir de Windows

    a) Ouvrez le menu « Démarrer » et choisissez « Exécuter ».

    b) Tapez (sans guillemets ni espaces) « %appdata%.minecraft\saves\ » et appuyez sur la touche « Entrée ».

    À partir de Mac OS

    a) Ouvrez le Finder.

    b) Sélectionnez « Aller » et « Aller au dossier... ».

    c) Sur apparition du message-guide, tapez (sans guillemets ni espaces) « ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves ».

    À partir de Ubuntu Linux

    a) Allez dans « Dossier personnel » et ouvrez le gestionnaire de fichiers.

    b) Dans le menu supérieur, sélectionnez « ALLER » (GO) et « Ouvrir l’emplacement » (Open Location).

    C) Tapez (sans guillemets ni espaces) « /.minecraft/saves ».

    2. Enregistrez les fichiers des cartes Minecraft.

    Une fois que vous avez trouvé le dossier « saves », vous pouvez y copier le dossier où se trouve la carte.

    Si vous désirez donner un autre nom à la carte téléchargée, renommez le dossier qui la contient.

    3. Lancez la carte Minecraft que vous avez téléchargée.

    Si la carte téléchargée a été sauvegardée dans le dossier « saves » de Minecraft, vous devriez pouvoir la sélectionner dans la liste des mondes disponibles lorsque vous jouez à Minecraft.
