    Description

This dataset contains model-based place (incorporated and census designated places) level estimates for the PLACES 2021 release in GIS-friendly format. PLACES is the expansion of the original 500 Cities Project and covers the entire United States—50 states and the District of Columbia (DC)—at county, place, census tract, and ZIP Code Tabulation Area (ZCTA) levels. It represents a first-of-its kind effort to release information uniformly on this large scale for local areas at 4 geographic levels. Estimates were provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Population Health, Epidemiology and Surveillance Branch. PLACES was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) in conjunction with the CDC Foundation. Data sources used to generate these model-based estimates include Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) 2019 or 2018 data, Census Bureau 2010 population estimates, and American Community Survey (ACS) 2015–2019 or 2014–2018 estimates. The 2021 release uses 2019 BRFSS data for 22 measures and 2018 BRFSS data for 7 measures (all teeth lost, dental visits, mammograms, cervical cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, core preventive services among older adults, and sleeping less than 7 hours a night). Seven measures are based on the 2018 BRFSS data because the relevant questions are only asked every other year in the BRFSS. These data can be joined with the 2019 Census TIGER/Line place boundary file in a GIS system to produce maps for 29 measures at the place level. An ArcGIS Online feature service is also available for users to make maps online or to add data to desktop GIS software. https://cdcarcgis.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=024cf3f6f59e49fe8c70e0e5410fe3cf

Each year, the Forecasting and Trends Office (FTO) publishes population estimates and future year projections. The population estimates can be used for a variety of planning studies including statewide and regional transportation plan updates, subarea and corridor studies, and funding allocations for various planning agencies. The 2021 population estimates are based on the population estimates developed by the Bureau of Economic and Business Research (BEBR) at the University of Florida. BEBR uses the decennial census count for April 1, 2020, as the starting point for state-level projections. More information is available from BEBR here. This dataset contains county boundaries in the State of Florida with 2021 population density estimates. All legal boundaries and names in this dataset are from the US Census Bureau’s TIGER/Line Files (2021). Please see the Data Dictionary for more information on data fields. Data sources used to generate these model-based estimates are Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) 2022 or 2021 data, Census Bureau 2022 county population estimates, and American Community Survey (ACS) 2018–2022 estimates. The 2024 release uses 2022 BRFSS data for 36 measures and 2021 BRFSS data for 4 measures (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cholesterol screening, and taking medicine for high blood pressure control among those with high blood pressure) that the survey collects data on every other year. These data can be joined with the census 2022 county boundary file in a GIS system to produce maps for 40 measures at the county level. An ArcGIS Online feature service is also available for users to make maps online or to add data to desktop GIS software. https://cdcarcgis.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=3b7221d4e47740cab9235b839fa55cd7

    Description

EP21 SA4 Orthoimagery in Wilson, Wayne, Johnston, Sampson, and Bladen Counties, North Carolina captured during leaf-off conditions in early 2021, 6-inch ground resolution, is a public resource provided by North Carolina's Statewide Orthoimagery Program, supported by the NC 911 Board. The state program includes orthoimagery acquired between 2012 and 2020. The NC 911 Board funded the 2012 and 2013 acquisition as well as the statewide collection in 2010. The 2021 project is consistent with the Business Plan for Orthoimagery in North Carolina (https://ncgicc.net/Portals/3/documents/OrthoImageryBusinessPlan_NC_20101029.pdf) that recommends acquisition of one-fourth of the state (or 27 counties) per year in a four-year cycle. The products are orthoimagery in true color, 6-inch ground resolution in 5,000 by 5,000-foot tiles, in uncompressed and compressed formats, packaged by county for distribution and accessible through the NC OneMap Geospatial Portal. The project was managed by the NC Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (CGIA) in the NC OneMap framework of data access. CGIA collaborated with the NC Geodetic Survey, the NC Department of Transportation's Photogrammetry Unit, and the Land Records Management office in the Office of the Secretary of State to form a state team with expertise and experience in orthoimagery. Acquisition contractors were selected by a Qualifications-Based Selection process. In addition the Statewide Mapping Advisory Committee's Working Group for Orthophotography Planning provided technical advice. Images were collected with digital cameras in early 2021, image processing and quality control occurred through 2021, and products became available by mid-year 2021. Image services are accessible and data are downloadable through NC OneMap. The digital imagery for The EP21 SA4 area was acquired from January 29 to March 05, 2021. The orthophoto tile naming convention utilizes the NC statewide index and uses the following parameters:OF is the 2 digit product code, O=orthoimagery, F=Four Band (RGBIR)6io is the 3 digit pixel size for 6-inch imagery37 is the 2 digit NC ANSI (FIPS) code000 is the 3 digit alpha numeric custodian code, Code "000" represents state maintained data"00959502" is the map index number. It is an 8 digit SOS LRM numbering of the basic modular unit with millionth place digit.20190208 is the 8 digit date (YYYYMMDD) representing the starting flight date for the county0307R0 is the 4 digit data (MMDD) representing the ending flight date for the county followed by the revision number for that tile.Seamline polygons are also available in Shapefile format for the county. Each Shapefile contains the following fields: Study Area ID, Strip ID (flight line), Exposure ID, Date Flown.Technical reports were created across the project study area and include the following:Attachment C: Flight & Control Plan (shows maps, layouts & details for planned flight lines & survey control per study area)Attachment C-1: Control Surveys Rerport (shows final locations, descriptions & diagrams for survey ground control across the study area)Attachment D: Imagery Acquisition Compliance Report (provides flight acquisition maps, specifications & supporting documentation by AT block across the study area)Attachment E: Airborne GPS-IMU Post Processing & Aerotriangulation Report (provides flight details, state specification compliance table, software used, GPS-IMU summary tables, AT statistics and multiple supporting tables/files per AT block)In addition supporting documentation was created for each county and includes the following:Attachment F Report: Signed and Sealed Orthoimagery Delivery ReportAttachment G Report: Quality Review Issues and Resolutions ReportThis dataset was generated to provide a consistent reference map for base mapping and display in emergency 911 operations and GIS applications. The State of North Carolina and Wilson County shall not be held liable for any errors in this dataset, including visual content and positional accuracy of this imagery or image capture dates associated with the filename.
