This layer serves as an inventory of colleges and universities within Stark County, Ohio. It is part of the Stark County Community Features umbrella of layers, which includes CommunityFeatures, LiveWorkLocate, and EmergencyResponseFacilities. These layers depict places of interest throughout the county, including Airfields and Helipads, Colleges and Universities, Corporate Headquarters, EMS Facilities, Event Venues, Fire Stations, Golf Courses, Hospitals and Health Clinics, Museums and Historic Landmarks, Parks and Recreation Areas, Places of Worship, Police Stations, Post Offices, Public Libraries, Retail Centers, Schools and Daycares, and Senior Citizen Centers. These "community features" were first inventoried and digitized by the Stark County Regional Planning Commission (RPC) in 2008. The initial inventory was a collaborative effort between RPC and each community within the county, who provided lists of their respective features. Since then, each layer is periodically updated by RPC and Stark County GIS.

Countywide Junior College Districts
The boundary of the individual Trustee Districts was provided by the School District to the Ventura County Clerk/Recorder Elections Division. These boundaries are based on Census data from the 2020 census. The census data does not follow current GIS data for the County of Ventura. The data was used to modify the Election Precincts as maintained by the Ventura County Clerk/Recorder Elections Division. The boundary was then provided to Information Technology Services Department/GIS division to be matched up to the boundary of the School District. The interior lines were redrawn to match Election Precinct polygons. The next scheduled changes should be for the 2030 census data in 2032. The Political boundaries extends 3 miles offshore but the polygons only reflect the land area.

This layer represents the OIT Community Anchor Institutions (CAI) data set. ''Community Anchor Institutions'' consist of schools, libraries, medical and healthcare providers, public safety entities, community colleges and other institutions of higher education, and other community support organizations and entities. These locations may not offer broadband availability to the public (although most libraries and many schools, and community centers do) but offer an opportunity for policy makers to understand where community anchor institutions which have broadband access are located; this can help in identifying challenges and opportunities to reaching connectivity goals. Although it is constantly being improved upon, ultimately we aim for this data set to evolve into a reliable resource for emergency response services.
