To download the data for analysis, please use the feature layer: Equity Index 2018 (Tacoma) - Data. The Equity Index is an interactive tool visually highlighting disparities in Tacoma. The 2018 iteration uses 20 data points sorted into 4 determinant categories (Accessibility, Economy, Education, and Livability) to determine where community members cannot access services or where services do not meet community needs. It is one of the primary tools that City staff, partners, and other decision-makers use to help ensure they make data-informed decisions to improve access to opportunities for all community members. Tacoma's original 2018 Equity Index was generated by the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race & Ethnicity for Tacoma's Office of Equity and Human Rights. Please note that while the 2020 version of the Equity Index is also based on 2010 US Census block groups, the 2022 version is based on 2020 US Census block groups. To learn more about the Equity Index, visit: CityofTacoma.org/EquityIndex.For questions, please fill out the Equity Index Inquiries form.
Pierce County's aquifer recharge area polygons are used to define wellhead protection areas, potential groundwater pollution areas, and the Clover/Chambers Creek aquifer. This dataset should primarily be used to identify if a location is inside of a aquifer recharge areas. An aquifer is a layer of underground rock or sand which stores and carries water. A recharge area is the place where water is able to seep into the ground and refill an aquifer because no confining layer is present. Recharge areas are necessary for a healthy aquifer. Please read metadata for additional information. Any data download constitutes acceptance of the Terms of Use.

This map service provides general bridge information for all transportation structures within the Washington State Bridge Inventory System (WSBIS) in Washington State. This includes bridges, large culverts, tunnels, pedestrian & railroads passing over state routes, and pedestrian bridges adjacent to state routes on state right of way. The accuracy and completeness of the transportation structure data (including the structure location) are the responsibility of the structure owner. In cases where pedestrian & railroad structures pass over state or local agency routes, this data may be the responsibility of the route owner under the structure. Note that local agencies do not include a complete inventory of pedestrian & railroad structures in local agency rights of way. Please Note: If there is a vertical clearance restriction related to the bridge/structure, the minimum clearance will appear in either the MinVertClrncOverDeck, MinVertClrncUnderBridge or TunnelMinVertClrncOverRdBy10 fields. For more specific and detailed vertical clearance information please use the WSDOT Bridge Vertical Clearance Trip Planner: https://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Bridge/Structures/BVCTP.htm(Chrome Browser works best)Reference Document: Criteria for Identifying Bridge Condition Stateshttps://www.wsdot.wa.gov/mapsdata/GeoDataCatalog/Maps/noscale/DOT_Bridge/WSDOTBridgeConditionStates_Criteria.pdf#page=1Reference Document: Attribute Definition Guidehttps://www.wsdot.wa.gov/mapsdata/GeoDataCatalog/Maps/noscale/DOT_Bridge/WSBIMCodingGuide_Appendix2C_2020.pdfIf you have any questions about this data, please contact George Comstock, Bridge Preservation Office (BPO) - comstog@wsdot.wa.gov-(360) 570-2540. For each park, the ParkServe® team created a 10-minute walkable service area using a nationwide walkable road network dataset provided by Esri. We use the Esri Network Analyst extension to create the 10-minute walk service area. The analysis identifies physical barriers such as highways, train tracks, and rivers without bridges and chooses routes without barriers. In order to create service areas, we created access points for each park using an auto-generation model. The model generates access points at any location where a walkable road is within a predefined distance of the park boundary. ParkServe® does incorporate the verified access points for the 100 cities in ParkScore®. Using the 10-minute walk service areas, overall access statistics are generated for each park, place, and urban area included in the database. Access is then disaggregated by several demographic variables – race/ethnicity, age, and income. In communities with an exceptionally small number of block groups, 10-minute walk demographic calculations are not available. This information is attached for the park locations. Visit https://www.tpl.org/parkserve/downloads for field descriptions. All calculated population statistics are based on 2018 US Census Block Group estimates provided by Esri. For more information on ParkServe methodology, visit: https://www.tpl.org/parkserve/about
