This feature class (shapefile) consists of point locations of public, private, and charter schools including pre-schools, day care facilities, adult and vocational schools in New Jersey, with minimal attributes. Most of the public schools were initially located in 2003 by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, and were checked in 2007-2016 by the NJ Office of Geographic Information Systems (OGIS), other organizations and volunteers. Charter schools were located in 2011 and checked through 2016 by OGIS against the 2016 NJ Department of Education table of public schools that also lists charter schools.Private schools were located initially in 2010, and updated later in 2014 only for Somerset County using the spatial data provided by Somerset County GIS team. The present data set is the result of checking and updating the previous locations by processing the tabular data that were acquired from NJDOE in August, 2016.

This dataset attempts to represent the point locations of every educational program in the state of Minnesota that is currently operational and reporting to the Minnesota Department of Education. It can be used to identify schools, various individual school programs, school districts (by office location), colleges, and libraries, among other programs. Please note that not all school programs are statutorily required to report, and many types of programs can be reported at any time of the year, so this dataset is by nature an incomplete snapshot in time.

Maintenance of these locations are a result of an ongoing project to identify current school program locations where Food and Nutrition Services Office (FNS) programs are utilized. The FNS Office is in the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). GIS staff at MDE maintain the dataset using school program and physical addresses provided by local education authorities (LEAs) for an MDE database called "MDE ORG". MDE GIS staff track weekly changes to program locations, along with comprehensive reviews each summer. All records have been reviewed for accuracy or edited at least once since January 1, 2020.

Note that there may remain errors due to the number of program locations and inconsistency in reporting from LEAs and other organizations. In particular, some organization types (such as colleges and treatment programs) are not subject to annual reporting requirements, so some records included in this file may in fact be inactive or inaccurately located.

Note that multiple programs may occur at the same location and are represented as separate records. For example, a junior and a senior high school may be in the same building, but each has a separate record in the data layer. Users leverage the "CLASS" and "ORGTYPE" attributes to filter and sort records according to their needs. In general, records at the same physical address will be located at the same coordinates.

This data is now available in CSV format. For that format only, OBJECTID and Shape columns are removed, and the Shape column is replaced by Latitude and Longitude columns.

School Districts of NYS.

These geocoded locations are based on the Allegheny County extract of Educational Names & Addresses (EdNA) via Pennsylvania Department of Education website as of April 19, 2018. Several addresses were not able to be geocoded (ex. If PO Box addresses were provided, they were not geocoded.)

Public, Private, and Postsecondary school data for use with GIS mapping software, databases, and web applications are from Caliper Corporation and contain enrollment data.

This Private Schools feature dataset is composed of private elementary and secondary education facilities in Texas as defined by the Private School Survey (PSS, https://nces.ed.gov/surveys/pss/), National Center for Education Statistics (NCES, https://nces.ed.gov), US Department of Education for the 2017-2018 school year. This includes all prekindergarten through 12th grade schools as tracked by the PSS. This feature class contains all MEDS/MEDS+ as approved by NGA. Complete field and attribute information is available in the ”Entities and Attributes” metadata section.

Prince William County school points. This layer contains school points for Elementary, Middle, and High schools. This layer also contains points for Learning Centers, Alternative Schools, School Administrative sites, School Transportation sites, Colleges and Universities within Prince William County. This data layer does not contain private day schools or preschools.

The Schools K-12 feature class is a combination of 9 feature classes that have school aged children attending. The feature classes included in the Schools K-12 feature class include: Public K-12, Private K-12, Charter K-12, State Operated Schools, BOCES, Other Schools for Students with Disabilities, Kindergartens All Buildings, Non IMF Public and Private Institutions, and Schools for At Risk Youth. The Other feature classes include Proprietary, Approved Preschool Programs for SWD, Colleges, District Offices, Feeding Sites, and Libraries. Categories of schools include public, private, charter, collaborative programs, and approved special education. This data was originally developed by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) GIS Program based on database information provided by the Massachusetts Department of Education (DOE). The update published on April 17th, 2009 was based on listings MassGIS obtained from the DOE as of February 9th, 2009. The layer is stored in ArcSDE and distributed as SCHOOLS_PT. Only schools located in Massachusetts are included in this layer. The DOE also provides a listing of out-of-state schools open to Massachusetts' residents, particularly for those with special learning requirements. The Unpublished Digital Geologic-GIS Map of the Cave Creek School Quadrangle, Texas is composed of GIS data layers and GIS tables in a 10.1 file geodatabase (ccsc_geology.gdb), a 10.1 ArcMap (.mxd) map document (ccsc_geology.mxd), individual 10.1 layer (.lyr) files for each GIS data layer, an ancillary map information document (lyjo_geology.pdf) which contains source map unit descriptions, as well as other source map text, figures and tables, metadata in FGDC text (.txt) and FAQ (.pdf) formats, and a GIS readme file (lyjo_geology_gis_readme.pdf). Please read the lyjo_geology_gis_readme.pdf for information pertaining to the proper extraction of the file geodatabase and other map files. Presently, a GRI Google Earth KMZ/KML product doesn't exist for this map.
