This layer contains information on active airports in the Southeast Michigan region (Livingston County, Macomb County, Monroe County, Oakland County, St. Clair County, Washtenaw County, Wayne County) and surrounding area. There are 35 records with the following fields: FAA, IATA, ICAO, Shortname, Fullname, AKA, system (yes/no), craftbased07 (based aircraft in 2007), dailyoper05 (daily operations in 2005), ownership (public/private/military), use (public/military), SEMMCD,owner, contact, phone, shape (point only).This layer is an update of a previous layer developed for the Regional Aviation System Plan for Southeast Michigan by the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG). It is also used for regional system airport analysis and the Regional Transportation Plan. This layer was last updated in 2013, though some of the data within is older than that, as indicated above.

The program is dedicated to assisting all Michigan schools public and private achieve environmental goals that include protecting the air, land, water and animals of our state along with world outreach through good ecological practices and the teaching of educational stewardship of students pre-kindergarten through high school.A school is eligible to receive a Green School, Emerald School, or Evergreen School Environmental Stewardship Designation if the school or students perform the required number of activities, with a minimum of two activities from each of the four categories.
