Missoula County Cadastral Data ResourcesA snapshot of property and parcel data for July 2022.Department of Revenue Orion SQL property record database provided as both an SQL database and as tables in a file geodatabase.File Geodatabase and Shapefile options for parcel polygon GIS data.Visit the Montana State Library Cadastral MSDI page for more information on cadastral data and Orion property database : MSDI Cadastral (mt.gov)The Montana Cadastral Framework shows the taxable parcels and tax-exempt parcels for most of Montana. The parcels contain selected information such as owner names, property and owner addresses, assessed value, agricultural use, and tax district information that were copied from the Montana Department of Revenue's ORION tax appraisal database. The data are maintained by the MT Department of Revenue, except for Ravalli, Silver Bow, Missoula, Flathead and Yellowstone counties that are maintained by the individual counties. The Revenue and county data are integrated by Montana State Library staff. Each parcel contains an attribute called ParcelID (geocode) that is the parcel identifier. View a pdf map of the counties that were updated this month here: https://ftpgeoinfo.msl.mt.gov/Data/Spatial/MSDI/Cadastral/Parcels/Statewide/MonthlyCadastralUpdateMap.pdf The parcel boundaries were aligned to fit with the Bureau of Land Management Geographic Coordinate Database (GCDB) of public land survey coordinates. Parcels whose legal descriptions consisted of aliquot parts of the public land survey system were created from the GCDB coordinates by selecting and, when necessary, subdividing public land survey entities. Other parcels were digitized from paper maps and the data from each map were transformed to fit with the appropriate GCDB boundaries.

    Description

The data release for the geologic and structure maps of the Wallace 1 x 2 degrees quadrangle, Montana and Idaho, is a Geologic Map Schema (GeMS)-compliant version that updates the GIS files for the geologic map published in U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Miscellaneous Investigations Series Map I-1509-A (Harrison and others, 2000). The updated digital data present the attribute tables and geospatial features (points, lines and polygons) in the format that meets GeMS requirements. This data release presents the geologic map as shown on the plates and captured in geospatial data for the published map. Minor errors, such as mistakes in line decoration or differences between the digital data and the map image, are corrected in this version. The database represents the geology for the 16,754 square kilometer, geologically complex Wallace quadrangle in northern Idaho and western Montana, at a publication scale of 1:250,000. The map covers primarily Lake, Mineral, Sanders and Shoshone Counties, but also includes minor parts of Flathead, Lincoln, and Missoula Counties. These GIS data supersede those in the interpretive report: Harrison, J.E., Griggs, A.B., Wells, J.D., Kelley, W.N., Derkey, P.D., and EROS Data Center, 2000, Geologic and structure maps of the Wallace 1- x 2- degree quadrangle, Montana and Idaho: a digital database: U.S. Geological Survey Miscellaneous Investigations Series Map I-1509-A, https://pubs.usgs.gov/imap/i1509a/.

This map provides information relevant to the purchasing of City of Missoula Excavation and Right-of-Way permits. These permits are issued by the City of Missoula Community Planning, Development, and Innovation Department and requirements for them are generally found within Title 12 of the Missoula Municipal Code. Truck routes may also be viewed on this map.To use the map, search for an address or use the street name and block number labels to locate a specific area. Determine if city rules pertain to the location by turning on the City Limits layer or clicking on a street segment and viewing the In City? field within the Street Info panel. The Designation field further indicates if a street is located in a public right-of-way or is owned by a private entity.Other information on the Street Info panel helps to meet the requirements outlined in the Public Works Standards & Specifications Manual. Functional Classification and Number of Lanes data aid in the determination of appropriate traffic control measures. Also refer to City of Missoula Traffic Control Standard Drawings. The MDT Permit? field specifies if a permit may be required by the Montana Department of Transportation. Contact the Missoula District Office, Engineering Division if a permit is indicated. If the Advance Notice Required field specifies that notice is necessary, the requirements are outlined in the manual.According to the City's Asphalt Cutting Regulation which became effective on October 1, 2011, asphalt cutting on streets two years old or less will not be permitted unless approved by the city engineer. Approvals may require additional conditions. This requirement is indicated on the map by dashed red lines.Missoula Municipal Code section 12.24.140 provides for the assessing of fees when asphalt has been damaged or cut during the course of construction. The Asphalt Penalties Info panel displays fees that may be charged based on age of asphalt or chip seal. Both fees may be charged.

The boundaries shown herein depict the extents of various master, strategic, and other planning-based documents, which have been approved by the City of Missoula City Council. The Business Improvement District (BID) is authorized by Title 7, Chapter 12 of Montana Code Annotated. The Missoula City Council resolution number 6898 created the City of Missoula BID on April 4, 2005, providing for an initial five-year period. Subsequent resolutions passed on March 22, 2010 (resolution 7511) and on 2/3/2020 (resolution 8411), each providing for ten-year extensions. The BID is funded through assessments to properties located within the district. The purpose of the BID is to promote the health, safety, prosperity, security, and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Missoula and the BID, the people of the State of Montana, and to provide special benefit to the properties located within the boundaries of the BID. The BID is governed by the Business Improvement District Board of Trustees, which is comprised of seven members. Members consist of a representative from each of the five different zones, an at-large representative, and a staff-appointed member. Board members must be property owners in the BID and the positions are non-paying. For more information, see the Downtown Business Improvement District website at https://www.ci.missoula.mt.us/2418/Urban-Renewal-Districts.An Urban Renewal District (URD) is an area deemed blighted by the City Council where economic growth has been impaired and there is a lack of public and private investment. Missoula's first URD was created downtown in 1978. As a result of MRA's success in revitalizing that area, subsequent districts have been formed in other parts of Missoula. For more information, visit the Missoula Redevelopment Agency's Urban Renewal Districts webpage at https://www.ci.missoula.mt.us/2418/Urban-Renewal-Districts.Inside of the Growth Policy boundary, the Growth Policy document will shape decisions made by the City regarding the land use and development of the area. Outside of this boundary, development decisions are not made with respect to the City’s Growth Policy. This boundary currently covers the same area as the Urban Services Boundary (URSA) – the area in which the City considers extension of water and sewer infrastructure. Growth Policy Boundary data are maintained by the Community Planning Section within the Community Planning, Development, and Innovation Department.

During the late summer of 2009, Missoula County employees inventoried physical features as seen from the river in the project reach, including bank armor and dikes. These features have the potential to affect channel migration rates and flooding extents. For this effort, these features were extended using air photos and incorporated into the mapping, but they were not evaluated in terms of their level of maintenance and associated level of performance. As such, the features are shown on the maps, but they do not affect the CMZ boundaries.

Zoning standards are spelled out in Titles 20 and 21 of municipal code and determine what uses and forms are allowed on parcels, depending on the zoning district of that parcel. The zoning districts are the regulatory standards that are applied; zoning districts are shaped largely by the land use districts that cover each parcel. Land uses are examined and revised if necessary each time the City’s Growth Policy is updated. The Zoning Map reflects the zoning of individual parcels of land in the City and the associated Zoning Code (Title 20, Missoula Municipal Codes) outlines the purpose and intent of zoning districts, establishes allowable uses, controls density and intensity of development and sets development standards. Zoning and Land Use data are maintained by the Community Planning Section within the Community Planning, Development, and Innovation Department.

Sweet Grass County Cadastral Data Resources, a snapshot of property and parcel data for June 2022.Department of Revenue Orion SQL property record database provided as both an SQL database and as tables in a file geodatabase.File Geodatabase and Shapefile options for parcel polygon GIS data.Visit the Montana State Library Cadastral MSDI page for more information on cadastral data and Orion property database : MSDI Cadastral (mt.gov)The Montana Cadastral Framework shows the taxable parcels and tax-exempt parcels for most of Montana.
