TwitterThis tile layer presents a new vector basemap of OpenStreetMap (OSM) data created and hosted by Esri, now in beta release. Esri produced this vector tile basemap in ArcGIS Pro from a live replica of OSM data, hosted by Esri, that was rendered using OSM cartography. The vector tiles were last updated in September 2018 and will be updated every few weeks with the latest OSM data. When fully released, this vector basemap will be freely available for any user or developer to build into their web map or web mapping apps.OpenStreetMap (OSM) is an open collaborative project to create a free editable map of the world. Volunteers gather location data using GPS, local knowledge, and other free sources of information and upload it. The resulting free map can be viewed and downloaded from the OpenStreetMap site: www.OpenStreetMap.org. Esri is a supporter of the OSM project and is excited to make this new vector basemap available available to the OSM, GIS, and Developer communities.

The Itinerarium Orbis Christiani, edited by Hogenberg between 1579 and 1580, is little known, despite being considered the first European road atlas. The Hispania map offers us a network of transport routes the implementation of which was believed to be later and representative of innovative advances in terms of the visual differentiation of these routes. This article contextualizes this map and analyzes it in detail, dating its creation and identifying its sources. It then studies the Spanish transport network during the sixteenth century and, specifically, the characteristics of the three types of routes shown on the map. This is done by comparing it with several itineraries and maps of the time. To confirm the reliability of the Hogenberg map and to ensure the actual existence of the other types of routes shown on the map, proximity algorithms were applied. The research results question the traditional view of the origin and motivations of the Spanish transport network, tracing its unplanned birth at least as far back as the sixteenth century.

Spanish: La recolección de datos de campo se realizó utilizando GPS, imágenes satelitales y Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG). Primero, se definieron los objetivos y se seleccionaron las herramientas tecnológicas adecuadas. El equipo fue capacitado en el uso de GPS y técnicas de muestreo, y se planificaron las rutas de visita a los predios. Durante las visitas, se capturaron coordenadas y puntos de interés con GPS. Las imágenes satelitales recientes se preprocesaron e integraron con los datos GPS en el software SIG para delinear áreas de implementación de tecnologías sostenibles. TwitterWe presented the background information for the study “An assessment of the N load from animal farms in saline wetland catchments in the Ebro Basin, NE Spain”. The studied wetlands basins are the: Saladas de Alcañiz-Calanda, Gallocanta Lake, Saladas de Sástago-Bujaraloz and Sariñena Lake. All the areas are catalogued in the Natura 2000 European Network, under the European Directives Birds (2009/147/EC) and Habitats (92/43/EEC), and are nitrates vulnerable areas according to the European Water Framework Directive (WFD, 91/676/EC) designation. The data presented here belong to the research projects AGROWET, funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by the “European Union NextGeneration EU/PRTR”, and ISABEL, funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by “ERDF A way of making Europe”. Each folder comprises fives GIS files generated in ArcGIS v.10.8: the “Watershed_name_of_basin”, “dem_name_of_basin”, “NVZ_name_of_basin” (Nitrate Vulnerable Zone), “Livestock_name_of_basin” and “Crop_name_of_basin”. “Watershed_name_of_basin” is a shape (polygon) delimited following the drainage divides with the help of the digital elevation model (DEM). “DEM_name_of_basin” is a raster file generated from the LiDAR data with a vertical accuracy of 2 m and a density of 0.5 points m2. “NVZ_name_of_basin” is a shape (polygon) downloaded from the National Spatial Data Infrastructure of the MITECO website (https://www.miteco.gob.es/es/cartografia-y-sig/ide/descargas/agua/zonas-vulnerables.html). “Livestock_name_of_basin” is a shape (point) of the livestock census collected as Table from the official administrative Register of Livestock Farms of Aragon, Spain (REGA), and it was available in the Open Data platform (https://opendata.aragon.es/). This shape presents a legend layer (.lyr). “Crop_name_of_basin” is a shape (polygon) based on the information provided by the farmer declarations in the context of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). This shape presents a legend layer with the declared crops grouped for a better spatial representation. The abovementioned geographic layers are map projected in the European Datum ETRS89/UTM zone 30N. The dataset includes an Excel spreadsheet “shape_attribute_info.xlsx” where the head columns of the attribute table of the shapes “livestock” and “crop” are explained. Apart from the basic information from the whole basins, we include the compressed folder named “Farnaca.zip” containing the geographic files used for the specific study of this area in the “Saladas de Sástago-Bujaraloz”: the shape (polygon) delimitating the study area (“area_farnaca”), and the slope of this polygon (“slope_farnaca”) with their corresponding legend layer.

The Geological Atlas of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin was designed primarily as a reference volume documenting the subsurface geology of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin. This GIS dataset is one of a collection of shapefiles representing part of Chapter 7 of the Atlas, Paleographic Evolution of the Cratonic Platform - Cambrian to Triassic, Figure 3, Ordovician (OS1) Paleogeography. Shapefiles were produced from archived digital files created by the Alberta Geological Survey in the mid-1990s, and edited in 2005-06 to correct, attribute and consolidate the data into single files by feature type and by figure.

TwitterThis tile layer presents a new vector basemap of OpenStreetMap (OSM) data created and hosted by Esri, now in beta release. Esri produced this vector tile basemap in ArcGIS Pro from a live replica of OSM data, hosted by Esri, that was rendered using OSM cartography. The vector tiles were last updated in September 2018 and will be updated every few weeks with the latest OSM data. When fully released, this vector basemap will be freely available for any user or developer to build into their web map or web mapping apps.OpenStreetMap (OSM) is an open collaborative project to create a free editable map of the world. Volunteers gather location data using GPS, local knowledge, and other free sources of information and upload it. The resulting free map can be viewed and downloaded from the OpenStreetMap site: www.OpenStreetMap.org. Esri is a supporter of the OSM project and is excited to make this new vector basemap available available to the OSM, GIS, and Developer communities.
