TwitterEelgrass in Elkhorn Slough was delineated using heads-up digitizing in ArcGIS v.10.5. UAV imagery flown in July 2021 was used as the base layer for digitizing the polygons. Google Earth imagery from 2021 was also used in areas where the UAV imagery did not exist. Additionally, multibeam bathymetric data collected in 2011 was used for drawing polygons in the central portion of the main channel just east of Hwy 1. The scale of interpretation was approximately 1/100. The dataset was not groundtruthed.

TwitterThis landcover dataset represents habitats in the Elkhorn watershed based on 2018 high resolution NAIP imagery. The dataset was compiled, using automated classification techniques, by Nate Herold and his team at the NOAA Office of Coastal Management. This layer differs from the Elkhorn Slough advanced Lifeform map (available here) in terms of the classification scheme and the minimum mapping unit. This layer was created for the purpose of comparing habitat change from 2010 to 2018.
