    The Digital Geologic-GIS Map of the Leipers Fork Quadrangle, Tennessee is composed of GIS data layers and GIS tables, and is available in the following GRI-supported GIS data formats: 1.) a 10.1 file geodatabase (lefo_geology.gdb), and a 2.) Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) geopackage. The file geodatabase format is supported with a 1.) ArcGIS Pro map file (.mapx) file (lefo_geology.mapx) and individual Pro layer (.lyrx) files (for each GIS data layer), as well as with a 2.) 10.1 ArcMap (.mxd) map document (lefo_geology.mxd) and individual 10.1 layer (.lyr) files (for each GIS data layer). Upon request, the GIS data is also available in ESRI 10.1 shapefile format. Contact Stephanie O'Meara (see contact information below) to acquire the GIS data in these GIS data formats. In addition to the GIS data and supporting GIS files, three additional files comprise a GRI digital geologic-GIS dataset or map: 1.) A GIS readme file (natr_geology_gis_readme.pdf), 2.) the GRI ancillary map information document (.pdf) file (natr_tn_geology.pdf) which contains geologic unit descriptions, as well as other ancillary map information and graphics from the source map(s) used by the GRI in the production of the GRI digital geologic-GIS data for the park, and 3.) a user-friendly FAQ PDF version of the metadata (lefo_geology_metadata_faq.pdf).     Statewide parcel boundaries containing real property information for 86 counties in the state. Parcels contain links to the Comptroller’s Tennessee Property Assessment Data site. This dataset is intended for public use and does not include counties using systems other than the state system for property assessment. This layer is updated monthly. Chester, Davidson, Hamilton, Hickman, Knox, Montgomery, Rutherford, Shelby, and Williamson not included.

    Group quarters are owned or managed by an entity or organization providing housing and/or services for the residents. People living in group quarters are usually not related to each other including such places as college residence halls, nursing homes and correctional facilities.The data in this map is compiled from a variety of publicly available sources to support US Census Bureau related activities in Tennessee including the 2020 Census and preparation of annual estimates of population and housing units.This dataset is under development and currently includes adult and juvenile corrections facilities in the state. Work is ongoing to add additional facility types and is scheduled to be complete by May 2019.

    The Road Segment table describes the administration and ownership of the segment of road. It contains tabular polyline data showing the log miles/measures, road name, functional class, government control, and U.S. Routes. Road names are derived from visual surveys by field crew or official GIS maps. Functional class is set by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). All other categories are determined by state and local agencies. This dataset is updated weekly.     From the site: "Digital elevation model (DEM) data are arrays of regularly spaced elevation values referenced horizontally either to a Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) projection or to a geographic coordinate system. The grid cells are spaced at regular intervals along south to north profiles that are ordered from west to east. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) produces five primary types of elevation data: 7.5-minute DEM, 30-minute DEM, 1-degree DEM, 7.5-minute Alaska DEM, and 15-minute Alaska DEM."

    The Digital Geologic-GIS Map of the Tennessee part of the Fork Ridge Quadrangle, Tennessee is composed of GIS data layers and GIS tables, and is available in the following GRI-supported GIS data formats: 1.) a 10.1 file geodatabase (ford_geology.gdb), and a 2.) Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) geopackage. The file geodatabase format is supported with a 1.) ArcGIS Pro map file (.mapx) file (ford_geology.mapx) and individual Pro layer (.lyrx) files (for each GIS data layer), as well as with a 2.) 10.1 ArcMap (.mxd) map document (ford_geology.mxd) and individual 10.1 layer (.lyr) files (for each GIS data layer). Upon request, the GIS data is also available in ESRI 10.1 shapefile format. Contact Stephanie O'Meara (see contact information below) to acquire the GIS data in these GIS data formats.     From the site: "This statewide watershed coverage (12 digit HUC) was provided by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). The coverage is in ArcView shapefile format and has been compressed with WinZip. Readme and draft metadata files are included in the zipped file.

    [Includes] Detailed stream coverage at 1:100,000 compiled from EPA River Reach 3 files.

    The Scenic Rivers Program was established in 1968 with the passage of the Tennessee Scenic Rivers Act. Since passage of this act, the General Assembly has designated sections of 13 rivers as State Scenic Rivers. Many of these Scenic Rivers are managed cooperatively with other local, state and federal agencies as well as with non-governmental organizations. The Scenic Rivers Program seeks to preserve valuable selected rivers, or sections thereof, in their free-flowing natural or scenic conditions and to protect their water quality and adjacent lands. The program seeks to preserve within the scenic rivers system itself, several different types and examples of river areas, including mountain streams and deep gorges of east Tennessee, the pastoral rivers of middle Tennessee, and the swamp rivers of west Tennessee. State Scenic Rivers are managed according to the Rules for the Management of Tennessee Natural Resource Areas."

    This polygon feature class contains rivers or river segments designated as Tennessee Scenic Rivers. The extents represented within do not constitute a survey product and are not legally binding. Limited attributes include river name, class designation, and calculated length where applicable. The data are updated twice per year (January and December) to reflect any changes made to the Act by the Tennessee General Assembly. Rivers are managed cooperatively with other state and federal agencies and non-governmental organizations following the standards outlined in the Tennessee Scenic Rivers Act of 1968 (Title 11; Chapter 13) and the Rules for the Management of Tennessee Natural Resource Areas. Tennessee has one river included in the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Program which is managed cooperatively with the National Park Service and follows the standards outlined in the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (Public Law 90-542; 16 U.S.C. 1271 et seq.).
