Data for this map service is sourced from the NZ Parcels dataset which is updated weekly with authoritative data direct from LINZ’s Survey and Title system. Refer to the NZ Parcel layer for detailed metadata.
To simplify the visualisation of this data, the map service filters the data from the NZ Parcels layer to display parcels with a status of 'current' only.
This map service has been designed to be integrated into GIS, web and mobile applications via LINZ’s WMTS and XYZ tile services. View the Services tab to access these services.

TwitterA collection of digital geological maps in GIS formats comprising geological, geophysical and topographic layers. Some geological map products include other components such as printed maps, printable PDF geological maps, accompanying explanatory text, 3D geological models and interpreted drill hole databases. The data are available for download and/or through web services.
The geological maps cover all or parts of New Zealand and its islands, Victoria Land and the Ross Sea region of Antarctica and the continent of Zealandia. Includes the national QMAP 1:250 000 Geological Map of New Zealand dataset and the 1:1 Million Geological Map of New Zealand as well as new geological map products as they are published.
These maps represent the post-2012 component of the Regional Geological Map Archive and Datafile, one of New Zealand Nationally Significant Collections and Databases, and complement older geological maps available from the Historic Geological Map Archive repository.

This layer is a service of the NZTopo50 map series. The Topo50 map series provides topographic mapping for the New Zealand mainland, Chatham and New Zealand's offshore islands, at 1:50,000 scale. Georeferenced raster digital images are provided at a resolution of 300 DPI. Georeferencing allows adjacent maps to be accurately and automatically aligned within GIS systems.

This provides a polygon coastline and islands layer which is based on the Topo50 products. It is a combination of the following layers:
This topographic coastline is the line forming the boundary between the land and sea, defined by mean high water.
Islands from the NZ Island Polygons layer that lie within the NZ Coastline and Chatham Islands areas (i.e. islands in lakes, rivers and estuaries) have been removed.

This dataset is the definitive set of annually released territorial authority boundaries for 2020 as defined the territorial authorities and/or Local Government Commission and maintained by Stats NZ (the custodian). This version contains 68 categories.
A territorial authority is defined under the Local Government Act 2002 as a city or a district council. There are 67 territorial authorities in New Zealand. Some territorial authority boundaries are coterminous with regional council boundaries but there are several exceptions. An example is Taupo District, which is split between four regions, although most of its area falls within the Waikato Region. Territorial authorities are defined at meshblock, statistical area 1 (SA1) and statistical area 2 (SA2) levels.
Names are provided with and without tohutō/macrons. The name field without macrons is suffixed ‘ascii’.
This generalised version has been simplified for rapid drawing and is designed for thematic or web mapping purposes.
Digital boundary data became freely available on 1 July 2007.

Statistical area 1 (SA1) is a geography that allows the release of more detailed information about population characteristics than is available at the meshblock level. Built by joining meshblocks, SA1s have an ideal size range of 100–200 residents, and a maximum population of about 500. TwitterThe Regional Geological Map and Data File (RGMAD) is a Nationally Significant Database and Collection for which GNS Science has custodianship. RGMAD is an archive of published and unpublished, hardcopy, and digital image and digital GIS format file geological maps for New Zealand, its offshore territories and Antarctica. The maps range from field sheets to draft compilations to complete maps as published. The collection includes maps dating back to the mid 19th century until the present and is regularly added to when new geological maps are completed. The hardcopy maps are stored in an archive facility at GNS Science's Lower Hutt building and some of the oldest maps are stored with the National Library. Most maps in the collection are available in digital formats; hardcopy maps have been scanned in high resolution during the 2010s, georeferenced and made available through a map image server. Vector GIS format maps created since the mid 1990s are stored on GNS Science servers and are available through web services and physical media sales.
