The generalized boundaries improve draw performance and effectiveness at global and continental levels.This layer is best viewed out beyond a maximum scale (zoomed in) of 1:5,000,000.The sources of this dataset are Esri, Garmin, and U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (The World Factbook). It is updated every 12-18 months as country names or significant borders change.

World Cities provides a basemap layer for the cities of the world. The cities include national capitals, provincial capitals, major population centers, and landmark cities. Population estimates are provided for those cities listed in open source data from the United Nations Statistics Division, United Nations Human Settlements Programme, and U.S. Census Bureau.

The USGS Topo base map service from The National Map is a combination of contours, shaded relief, woodland and urban tint, along with vector layers, such as geographic names, governmental unit boundaries, hydrography, structures, and transportation, to provide a composite topographic base map. The FDOT GIS Roads with Median Width feature class provides spatial information on Florida Median width in feet. A median is defined as a barrier or other physical separation between two lanes of traffic traveling in opposite directions, which can either be raised, painted, or paved. This information is required for all functionally classified roadways On or Off the SHS. This dataset is maintained by the Transportation Data & Analytics office (TDA).
