    Description

This is a part of Gulf Integrated Spill Research (GISR) consortium program. GISR uses floating environmentally-friendly drift cards as a surrogate marker for the transport for a surface oil slick. These cards serve the dual purpose of tracking the surface currents and being a tool for community outreach. The map shows initial dropped locations of each drift card. More details

    Description

    Dissolved organic carbon concentrations were measured from water samples collected at various stations in the Northern Gulf of Mexico during GISR Cruise G01 (July 2012) and G03 (November-December 2012). Both cruises were on the R/V Pelican, cruise codes PE13-01 and PE13-15 respectively. Results from the G01 cruise together with other data comprise the support for the paper titled "Deepwater Horizon Oil in the Gulf of Mexico Waters after Two Years: Transformation into the Dissolved Organic Matter Pool" by Bianchi et al. 2014 in Environ. Sci. Technol., 2014, 48 (16), pp 9288-9297 DOI: 10.1021/es501547b cdm_altitude_proxy=depth cdm_data_type=Point cdm_point_variables=Point Conventions=CF-1.6, ACDD-1.3, IOOS-1.2, COARDS Country=USA date_metadata_modified=2021-10-03T21:45:51Z Easternmost_Easting=-87.98474166666666 featureType=Point geospatial_bounds=points (25.8934 -88.0266, 25.8996 -90.0621, 25.9061 -90.7275, 25.9195 -91.2617, 25.9203 -92.097, 26.0278 -89.1357, 26.1682 -87.3498, 26.2897 -94.011, 26.2972 -90.8197, 26.3243 -90.1795, 26.328 -88.3001, 26.4718 -92.8188, 26.4865 -89.3575, 26.5303 -87.4629, 26.5493 -91.5336, 26.5512 -93.3817, 26.7284 -90.9233, 26.7405 -92.1969, 26.7547 -93.3876, 26.8322 -94.0002, 26.8364 -88.6183, 26.8432 -91.6014, 26.9452 -89.5808, 27.0278 -93.3835, 27.0857 -92.3671, 27.1352 -91.681, 27.1582 -91.0216, 27.1582 -91.1061, 27.1659 -90.5829, 27.18 -90.4153, 27.236 -91.4308, 27.3251 -92.3386, 27.4185 -88.9852, 27.4252 -91.7528, 27.4888 -91.1061, 27.6104 -90.5319, 27.6866 -90.6074, 27.7271 -89.5726, 27.7271 -89.9549, 27.7499 -87.9989, 27.7508 -89.0012, 27.7566 -88.371, 27.8016 -88.4491, 27.982 -88.7534, 28.0001 -88.2475, 28.0002 -87.999, 28.0002 -89.251, 28.0011 -89.0009, 28.1847 -87.966, 28.2493 -87.9989, 28.2498 -88.2493, 28.2503 -89.251, 28.2506 -88.7496, 28.2509 -88.7486, 28.251 -89.0003, 28.2514 -88.4978, 28.3486 -88.879, 28.3761 -89.502, 28.5003 -88.2491, 28.5006 -87.9974, 28.5007 -88.7507, 28.5085 -89.0033, 28.6006 -89.9002, 28.6506 -90.1015, 28.7219 -88.4127, 28.7396 -88.2515, 28.7493 -88.9992, 28.7537 -87.9847) geospatial_bounds_crs=EPSG:4326 geospatial_bounds_vertical_crs=EPSG:5831 geospatial_lat_max=28.753745 geospatial_lat_min=27.749943333333334 geospatial_lat_resolution=-0.007553699999999992 geospatial_lat_units=degrees_north geospatial_lon_max=-87.98474166666666 geospatial_lon_min=-89.50198333333333 geospatial_lon_resolution=-0.03034483333333327 geospatial_lon_units=degrees_east geospatial_vertical_max=2223.1 geospatial_vertical_min=0.05 geospatial_vertical_positive=down geospatial_vertical_resolution=6.009000000000019 geospatial_vertical_units=m history=2021-10-03T21:45:48Z id=Bianchi_Data infoUrl=https://data.gulfresearchinitiative.org/data/R1.x137.131:0007 institution=University of Florida / Department of Geological Sciences instrument=CTD instrument_vocabulary=GCMD Science Keywords Version 9.1.5 keywords_vocabulary=GCMD Science Keywords metadata_link=https://data.gulfresearchinitiative.org/data/R1.x137.131:0007 naming_authority=edu.ufl Northernmost_Northing=28.753745 platform=RV_Pelican platform_name=RV_Pelican platform_vocabulary=https://mmisw.org/ont/ioos/platform processing_level=Geophysical units from raw data program=The Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative (GOMRI) project=Gulf of Mexico Integrated Spill Response Consortium (GISR) references=data.gomri.org sea_name=Gulf Of Mexico source=in situ measurements sourceUrl=(local files) Southernmost_Northing=27.749943333333334 standard_name_vocabulary=CF Standard Name Table v72 subsetVariables=time, longitude, latitude time_coverage_duration=P00Y0M00DT00H00M00S time_coverage_end=2012-06-07T12:02:00Z time_coverage_start=2012-06-07T12:02:00Z Westernmost_Easting=-89.50198333333333
