The Principal Follow-Up Survey, 2016-17 (PFS 16/17) is a data collection that is part of the National Teacher and Principal Survey program; program data are available since 2017 at https://nces.ed.gov/pubsearch/licenses.asp. PFS 16/17 (https://nces.ed.gov/surveys/ntps/overview.asp?OverviewType=6) is a longitudinal follow-up to the National Teacher and Principal Survey, 2015-16 (NTPS 2015-16) data collection. Key statistics produced from PFS 16/17 include the number of principals that still worked as a principal in the same school in the following school year, how many moved to become a principal in another school, how many left the principalship altogether, and from those who left the principalship, what percentage retired or sought work in another occupational field.
The Participation Survey started in October 2021 and is the key evidence source on engagement for DCMS. It is a continuous push-to-web household survey of adults aged 16 and over in England.
The Participation Survey provides nationally representative estimates of physical and digital engagement with the arts, heritage, museums & galleries, libraries and archives, as well as engagement with tourism, major events, live sports and digital.
The Participation Survey is only asked of adults in England. Currently there is no harmonised survey or set of questions within the administrations of the UK. This dataset has two layers and includes both the weighted data and unweighted data. Follow up emails and texts are also sent to encourage participation. A link to the survey is provided with each communication. To prevent people who do not live in Tempe or who were not selected as part of the random sample from completing the survey, everyone who completed the survey was required to provide their address. These addresses were then matched to those used for the random representative sample. If the respondent’s address did not match, the response was not used. To better understand how services are being delivered across the city, individual results were mapped to determine overall distribution across the city. Additionally, demographic data were used to monitor the distribution of responses to ensure the responding population of each survey is representative of city population. Processing and Limitations:The location data in this dataset is generalized to the block level to protect privacy. This means that only the first two digits of an address are used to map the location. When they data are shared with the city only the latitude/longitude of the block level address points are provided. This results in points that overlap. In order to better visualize the data, overlapping points were randomly dispersed to remove overlap. The result of these two adjustments ensure that they are not related to a specific address, but are still close enough to allow insights about service delivery in different areas of the city. At recent technical conferences, many coal geoscientists in academia and government institutions as well as in industry organizations have expressed concern about the dwindling number of students and young staff members interested in careers in coal geoscience. To better understand what is driving these trends and to identify potential ways that the community can increase interest and participation in coal geoscience, two different surveys were sent to 94 coal geoscientists who were current or past members of The Society of Organic Petrology (TSOP) in February 2020. The Family Resources Survey (FRS) has been running continuously since 1992 to meet the information needs of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). It is almost wholly funded by DWP.
The FRS collects information from a large, and representative sample of private households in the United Kingdom (prior to 2002, it covered Great Britain only). The interview year runs from April to March.
The focus of the survey is on income, and how much comes from the many possible sources (such as employee earnings, self-employed earnings or profits from businesses, and dividends; individual pensions; state benefits, including Universal Credit and the State Pension; and other sources such as savings and investments). Specific items of expenditure, such as rent or mortgage, Council Tax and water bills, are also covered.
Many other topics are covered and the dataset has a very wide range of personal characteristics, at the adult or child, family and then household levels. These include education, caring, childcare and disability. The dataset also captures material deprivation, household food security and (new for 2021/22) household food bank usage.
The FRS is a national statistic whose results are published on the gov.uk website. It is also possible to create your own tables from FRS data, using DWP’s Stat Xplore tool. Further information can be found on the gov.uk Family Resources Survey webpage.
Secure Access FRS data
In addition to the standard End User Licence (EUL) version, Secure Access datasets, containing unrounded data and additional variables, are also available for FRS from 2005/06 onwards - see SN 9256. The FRS underpins the related Households Below Average Income (HBAI) dataset, which focuses on poverty in the UK, and the related Pensioners' Incomes (PI) dataset. The EUL versions of HBAI and PI are held under SNs 5828 and 8503, respectively. The Secure Access versions are held under SN 7196 and 9257 (see above).
FRS 2022-23
The impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on the FRS 2022-23 survey was much reduced when compared with the two previous survey years. Throughout the year, there was a gradual return to pre-pandemic fieldwork practices, with the majority of interviews being conducted in face-to-face mode. The achieved sample was just over 25,000 households. Users are advised to consult the FRS 2022-23 Background Information and Methodology document for detailed information on changes, developments and issues related to the 2022-23 FRS data set and publication. The Schools and Staffing Survey, 2007-08 (SASS 07-08), is a study that is part of the Schools and Staffing Survey (SASS) program. SASS 07-08 (https://nces.ed.gov/surveys/sass/) is a cross-sectional survey that collects data on public, private, and Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) elementary and secondary schools across the nation. The survey was primarily conducted through the use of mailed paper questionnaires. Nonresponse follow-up interviews were conducted using computer-assisted telephone interviews and face-to-face paper interviews. Teachers, librarians, principals, and districts were sampled. To ensure residents across the District were provided an opportunity to participate in the discussion around public safety, the qualities of a permanent chief of police, and public safety priorities for the District, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice conducted a survey. Residents could take the survey online or complete it in person at recreation centers, senior centers, and libraries. The survey was publicized in Mayor Bowser’s weekly newsletter, on neighborhood list-servs, and in a link on all District government emails. The survey was open to the public between January 26th and February 13th 2017. We collected over 7000 responses, of which we identified 3990 as valid responses from District residents. This dataset contains raw response data to a nano-survey that was conducted in Morocco on the right to access to information and the right to petition and motion the government. A nano-survey is an innovative technology that extends a brief survey to a random sampling of internet users. Note: "NA" or "N/A" indicates "No Answer." Sub-national location data is available for 2/3 of survey recipients. 54,441 random internet users in Morocco were exposed to a portion of this survey, with 15,020 respondents providing at least partial responses.
