    Description

These family food datasets contain more detailed information than the ‘Family Food’ report and mainly provide statistics from 2001 onwards. The UK household purchases and the UK household expenditure spreadsheets include statistics from 1974 onwards. These spreadsheets are updated annually when a new edition of the ‘Family Food’ report is published.

The ‘purchases’ spreadsheets give the average quantity of food and drink purchased per person per week for each food and drink category. The ‘nutrient intake’ spreadsheets give the average nutrient intake (e.g. energy, carbohydrates, protein, fat, fibre, minerals and vitamins) from food and drink per person per day. The ‘expenditure’ spreadsheets give the average amount spent in pence per person per week on each type of food and drink. Several different breakdowns are provided in addition to the UK averages including figures by region, income, household composition and characteristics of the household reference person.

    Description

great.gov.uk is the UK government site offering information and advice about exporting and investing in the UK. The dashboards show how these services have performed.

The great.gov.uk dashboards contain information on the number of:

    • users accessing the services
    • companies who have made use of the export opportunities, Selling Online Overseas, trade profiles, and Invest in Great Britain services

They are updated on the third Thursday of every month with the data for the previous month.

At midnight on 30 January 2020, DIT implemented a new cookie policy. We are reviewing our metrics for users and page views but plan to continue reporting other metrics where the time series is uninterrupted, like published opportunities and submitted applications.

If users have not accessed their account in 3 years, we contact them with a notice as we avoid keeping data for longer than necessary. These purposes are set out in our https://www.great.gov.uk/privacy-and-cookies/">privacy notice.

If there is no activity within a further 30 days, their account data is removed. This is in accordance with DIT’s data retention policy which came in to effect on 7 June 2021. As a result the number of registered users may vary per month. Any significant drop in users is the result of inactive accounts being removed.

    Description

This publication summarises the concentrations of major air pollutants as measured by the Automatic Urban and Rural Network (AURN). This release covers annual average concentrations in the UK of:

    • nitrogen dioxide (NO2)
    • particulates (PM2.5)
    • particulates (PM10)
    • ozone (O3)

The release also covers the number of days when air pollution was ‘Moderate’ or higher for any one of five pollutants listed below:

    • nitrogen dioxide (NO2)
    • particulates (PM2.5)
    • particulates (PM10)
    • ozone (O3)
    • sulphur dioxide (SO2)

These statistics are used to monitor progress against the UK’s reduction targets for concentrations of air pollutants. Improvements in air quality help reduce harm to human health and the environment.

Air quality in the UK is strongly linked to anthropogenic emissions of pollutants. For more information on UK emissions data and other information please refer to the air quality and emissions statistics GOV.UK page.

The statistics in this publication are based on data from the Automatic Urban and Rural Network (AURN) of air quality monitors. The https://uk-air.defra.gov.uk/">UK-AIR website contains the latest air quality monitoring data for the UK and detailed information about the different monintoring networks that measure air quality. The website also hosts the latest data produced using Pollution Climate Mapping (PCM) which is a suite of models that uses both monitoring and emissions data to model concentrations of air pollutants across the whole of the UK. The UK-AIR website also provides air pollution episode updates and information on Local Authority Air Quality Management Areas as well as a number of useful reports.

The monitoring data is continuously reviewed and subject to change when issues are highlighted. This means that the time series for certain statistics may vary slightly from year to year. You can access editions of this publication via The National Archives or the links below.

The datasets associated with this publication can be found here ENV02 - Air quality statistics.

As part of our ongoing commitment to compliance with the https://code.statisticsauthority.gov.uk/">Code of Practice for Official Statistics we wish to strengthen our engagement with users of air quality data and better understand how the data is used and the types of decisions that they inform. Revisions
