Layered GeoPDF 7.5 Minute Quadrangle Map. Layers of geospatial data include orthoimagery, roads, grids, geographic names, elevation contours, hydrography, and other selected map features.
All original 1-cm depth class features have a surface area between 6 and 200 square meters, a size range estimated to capture most bison wallows. The lower bound was selected to eliminate extremely small features. For the upper bound, a dataset obtained from the Konza Prairie Biological Station that contained 996 hand-delineated and field-surveyed potential wallows had a maximum feature area of 97 square meters, and this value was approximately doubled to err on the side of inclusion. Following methods developed for TWIP-based potential playa area mapping (see Kansas Biological Survey Reports #186 & #204), a shape index (defined as the perimeter divided by the square root of the area) was applied to screen out elongated features, assuming these generally do not correspond with wallows. An additional attribute ("in_fldpln") was added to indicate which features occur within the Kansas Biological Survey’s library of major floodplains for the county, largely to distinguish upland wallow-like features from bottomland features.

This is a 1-m shaded relief map for Greenwood County, Kansas, created using LiDAR data circa 2012. The LiDAR digital terrain model data were subjected to a 3-by-3 median filter prior to processing.

Data presented has been aggregated into 2020 US Census Block unit geographies by the South Carolina Broadband Office (SCBBO). The data represents a generalized overview of state-managed broadband investments made from 2021 to 2024 through competitively awarded grant programs administered by the SCBBO. Note, this map is for general reference only, not all locations within a funded census block were necessarily included in a project. Location-specific details regarding any funded area are tracked at a project level. The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) identified a possible prehistoric Hohokam cremation eroding from the bank of an unlined Salt River Project (SRP) irrigation lateral that traverses a modern cemetery in central Phoenix. It was thought that two additional burial pits might be present in the lateral, but only the above-mentioned possible cremation was currently affected by erosion. The possible burial was discovered earlier in the year and was monitored by a Reclamation archaeologist while Native American Graves Protection Act consultation was carried out. To limit additional erosion in the short-term, the burial was stabilized with clean fill. Because the cemetery is located on a portion of the extensive prehistoric Hohokam site Las Colinas (AZ T:12:10[ASM]), it was critical to determine if additional burials might be subject to eventual erosion. At Reclamation’s request, Archaeological Consulting Services, Ltd. (ACS) surveyed the lateral right-of-way (50 ft wide) to identify other burial features that might be exposed in the lateral walls and to determine if any of these might be in imminent danger from erosion. Reclamation also requested that ACS excavate, map, and draw the one possible eroding cremation, remove all associated funerary objects, and perform nondestructive analysis prior to repatriation. All work was conducted on Reclamation property. This is the project report. Photos of the modern canal works and water control gates (no photographs were taken of the human remains or associated funerary items) can be found at tDAR ID: 393977. The photo log can be found at tDAR ID: 391346.
