POLYLINE DATA TO REPRESENT THE ROADS IN HALDIMAND COUNTY. DEVELOPED IN CONJUCTION WITH THE MTO FOR A PILOT PROJECT, TO DEMONSTRATE THE POWER IN GIS FOR THE RIMS DATA COLLECTION AND ROAD NEEDS STUDIES WITHIN THE COUNTY.IT WAS ORIGINALLY BUILT BY THE MTO AS AN SLRN AROUND 1999, IN AUTOCAD, THEN CONVERTED AND TWEAKED BY DOUG REIMER IN 2002. THE FIRST GIS LAYER BUILT FOR/BY THE ENGINEERING DEPT, HALDIMAND COUNTY.

This data shows the active railway lines in Haldimand County.

The data represents the type of road surface for each road segment. It can be broken down into gravel, HCB (paved), LCB (gravel/surface treated) and other, as well as showing the ownership of the road segment.

The data shows the parcels that can be used for business improvements in Haldimand. It is grouped around some of the urban areas, including as Caledonia, Hagersville and Dunnville.

A municipal drain is constructed to improve the drainage of agricultural lands. It is used primarily in rural areas to discharge excess water from the private agricultural tile drainage systems, roadside ditches, residential lots, churches, schools, industrial lands and any other properties.

The Community Improvement Plan helps focus on the maintenance, rehabilitation, development and redevelopment of targeted areas. The targeted areas are the downtown areas located in Dunnville, Caledonia, Cayuga, Hagersville, Jarvis and Selkirk.

The data provides context on where the settlement areas are located in Haldimand County. These boundaries are broken up into three different categories to show the difference in settlement type. These categories are urban area, hamlet and lakeshore node. The urban areas are areas with more developed structures and have a larger density of people. Hamlets are considered small/very small areas of population, usually consisting of an intersection or a few roads. Lakeshore nodes are areas of development and settlement along Lake Erie.

This data shows the different lots and concessions that are in Haldimand. Each lot and concession also include which Geographic Township that they are apart of.

The data shows the fire hydrants in Haldimand County and whether they are public or private hydrants. It also shows the hydrant ID and location of the hydrant.

The data provides information on the location of parcels in Haldimand County. For each parcel, it displays information such as the street address, the roll number and the legal information for the parcel.

Contour lines are curved, straight or a mixture of both lines on a map describing the intersection of a real or hypothetical surface with one or more horizontal planes. The contour lines are interpolated at 0.5m from Aerial Imagery circa 2006. These lines cover the urban areas in Haldimand County as well as some other areas. The included areas are Caledonia, Cayuga, Dunnville, Hagersville, Jarvis, Townsend, York and the north portion of the Lake Erie Industrial Park near Nanticoke.

The data represents the ownership of the road segments, which are broken down into public, private and MTO (Ontario Ministry of Transportation).
