    Description

Download .zipA soil mapping unit designates a specific type of soil which has unique charactersitics including texture, slope, and erosion class.

This coverage was digitized from the original paper soil survey sheets. These sheets were taped together to form an area covering each of the townships in the county. The areas for each township were then digitized using a run length encoding technique sampling along horizontal lines which represented the midline of cells with a height of 250 feet. The measurement increment along these horizontal lines was one decafoot (10 feet). The township files were subsequently converted to ARC/INFO format and merged to create a county coverage.

The user should bear in mind that this coverage is only an approximation of the original soil survey and should not be used for site specific analysis. Additional details on the digitizing process are available on request.

Original coverage data was converted from the .e00 file to a more standard ESRI shapefile(s) in November 2014.Contact Information:GIS Support, ODNR GIS ServicesOhio Department of Natural ResourcesReal Estate & Land ManagementReal Estate and Lands Management2045 Morse Rd, Bldg I-2Columbus, OH, 43229Telephone: 614-265-6462Email: gis.support@dnr.ohio.gov

    Description

The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. Face refers to the areal (polygon) topological primitives that make up MTDB. A face is bounded by one or more edges; its boundary includes only the edges that separate it from other faces, not any interior edges contained within the area of the face. The Topological Faces Shapefile contains the attributes of each topological primitive face. Each face has a unique topological face identifier (TFID) value. Each face in the shapefile includes the key geographic area codes for all geographic areas for which the Census Bureau tabulates data for both the 2010 Census and the annual estimates and surveys. The geometries of each of these geographic areas can then, be built by dissolving the face geometries on the appropriate key geographic area codes in the Topological Faces Shapefile.

    Description

The 2006 OSIP digital orthophotography was collected during the months of March and April (leaf-off conditions). The MrSID Images covering each county at 1-foot pixel resolution will be created at a 30:1 compression ratio. At a 30:1 compression ratio, the resulting MrSID file size will average around 2GBs in size (dependent upon county size). MrSID Images will also be created for each buy-up county. These MrSIDs, will be compressed at a 20:1 ratio. In some cases, buy-up counties have requested a higher compression ratio. Hancock and Fairfield Counties have requested countywide ECW image files.

The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. The Area Hydrography Shapefile contains the geometry and attributes of both perennial and intermittent area hydrography features, including ponds, lakes, oceans, swamps (up to the U.S. nautical three-mile limit), glaciers, and the area covered by large rivers, streams, and/or canals that are represented as double-line drainage. Single-line drainage water features can be found in the Linear Hydrography Shapefile (LINEARWATER.shp). Linear water features includes single-line drainage water features and artificial path features, where they exist, that run through double-line drainage features such as rivers, streams, and/or canals, and serve as a linear representation of these features.
