The plan creates new service and travel options by expanding several types of transportation and making investments in service and accessibility around our region - with no tax increase.The METRONext Moving Forward Plan includes the introduction of METRORapid, which combines elements of light rail and bus to deliver faster connections and a convenient ride. While others are waiting at a traffic light, METRORapid keeps you moving.This environmentally-friendly bus rapid transit service features:Modern design offering 100% accessibility, with wider doorways and level boardingStations and platforms like railDedicated, bus-only lane to move through trafficBus-friendly traffic signalsMETRO’s BOOST network includes 17 high-ridership, frequent bus routes. To enhance the customer experience, the METRONext Moving Forward Plan provides for speed, reliability and access improvements to these routes. At or near many stops, this may include:New or improved sidewalksAccessibility upgradesBus shelters with lightingDigital real-time bus arrival informationTraffic signal improvementsThe highest ridership route is 82 Westheimer.
