Vector polygon map data of city limits from Houston, Texas containing 731 features.
City limits GIS (Geographic Information System) data provides valuable information about the boundaries of a city, which is crucial for various planning and decision-making processes. Urban planners and government officials use this data to understand the extent of their jurisdiction and to make informed decisions regarding zoning, land use, and infrastructure development within the city limits.
By overlaying city limits GIS data with other layers such as population density, land parcels, and environmental features, planners can analyze spatial patterns and identify areas for growth, conservation, or redevelopment. This data also aids in emergency management by defining the areas of responsibility for different emergency services, helping to streamline response efforts during crises..
This city limits data is available for viewing and sharing as a map in a Koordinates map viewer. This data is also available for export to DWG for CAD, PDF, KML, CSV, and GIS data formats, including Shapefile, MapInfo, and Geodatabase.
Dataset describes Harris Co. boundary line. This county boundary aligns with other HCAD data, primarily parcels.

The Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM) Database depicts flood risk information and supporting data used to develop the risk data. The primary risk classifications used are the 1-percent-annual-chance flood event, the 0.2-percent-annual- chance flood event, and areas of minimal flood risk. The DFIRM Database is derived from Flood Insurance Studies (FISs), previously published Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), flood hazard analyses performed in support of the FISs and FIRMs, and new mapping data, where available. The FISs and FIRMs are published by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This study is a physical map revision covering the Cypress Creek watershed area.

This resource describes a dataset of gridded depth at horizontal resolution of 3 meters, published November 15, 2017, downloaded from FEMA [1] and hosted in this archive at the University of Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) [2].. The raster dataset is contained within an Esri ArcGIS geodatabase. This product utilized Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) interpolation, four quality assurance measures (identifying dips, spikes, duplication, and inaccurate/unrealistic measurements). High Water Marks were obtained from the Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD), US Geological Survey (USGS), and other inspection data. Elevation data comprised a mosaic of 3 meter resampled elevations from 1M & 3M LiDAR, and IFSAR data. One section of the IfSAR data was found to be erroneous, and replaced with a blended 10 meter section. [This description was in correspondence January 22, 2018, from Mark English, GeoSpatial Risk Analyst, FEMA Region VIII, Mitigation Division.]
A preliminary version of these depths dated September 10, 2017 can be viewed in a FEMA web map [3]. This web map shows a forecasted depth grid, based on National Weather Service (NWS) Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service (AHPS) forecasted water levels.
See FEMA's Natural Hazard Risk Assessment Program (NHRAP) ftp site [4] for additional HWM-based depth grids and inundation polygons: - Harris County AOIs and Inundation Boundaries [5] - Harris County Depth Grids [6] - Aransas, Nueces, and San Patricio Coastal Depth Grids and Boundaries [7] FEMA notes on these Modeled Preliminary Observations: o Based on observed Water Levels at stream gauges interpolated along rivers, downsampled to 5m resolution DEM o Depth grids updated with new observed peak crest as they become available o Will include High Water Mark information as it becomes available o Extents validated with remote sensing o Use for determining damage levels on specific structures

Covering Harris and Fort Bend Counties, the Zingery Map Company provided standardized maps at 1:12,000 scale with Lambert conformal polyconic projection beginning November 12, 1956. As Fort Bend County grew from predominantly rural to suburban development, the need for a map grid that allowed for greater detail on our publicly available certified tax basemaps and elsewhere became apparent. Although each account still references the original Z Map grid, a grid was created that provided 64 tiles within a single Z-map grid. The first letter is "A" followed by a dash with three additional numeric characters captures the original Z-map naming convention. It is then followed by an alpha/numeric combination that varies based on the number of tiles needed to cover the county.

1:24,000 scale Geologic Map of the Southern Snake Mountains, Elko County, Nevada. Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology Open-File Report 83-303. Detailed geologic mapping by J. Fred Smith Jr., Keith B. Ketner, Gilbert X. Hernandez, Anita G. Harris and Marjorie C. Smith in 1983. Map includes description of 28 geologic units. The GIS work was in support of the U. S. In addition to basic geology (lithology, contacts and faults, etc.), the maps may include metamorphic overprints, cross-sections, and explanatory legend-graphics such as correlation charts, used to supplement columnar legends. Includes results of geochemical analyses and age determinations of igneous rocks.

The Key Map Grid Index dataset contains rectangular features representing index pages within Montgomery County, Texas. Each index page is proportioned to fit a letter-sized map and is assigned a unique identifier for reference purposes. This dataset facilitates the organization and retrieval of key map grids, with 24 key map grids fitting within a single index page. The index pages are numbered sequentially, and the key map grids within each index page are lettered accordingly, excluding the letters "I" and "O" to avoid confusion with numbers. The Key Map Grid Index was created by the Houston Map Company, which covers multiple counties in the Houston metropolitan area including Harris, Fort Bend, Galveston, Brazoria, Liberty, Waller, and Montgomery Counties. More information can be found on the Houston Map Company's website at www.keymaps.com.Data Fields Included:Index Page ID: Unique identifier assigned to each index pageBoundary Polygon: Rectangle representing the proportionate index page
