    This georeferenced raster layer represents Oahu in 1902. Compiled, from all available data in the office and also from private surveys, by John M. Donn. Scale approximately 1:90,000. 66 x 81 cm. Color lithographed map. Relief shown by hachures and spot heights. Shows public lands; homestead settlement tracts; grazing and pineapple lands; sisal and sugar plantations; forest reserves; forest lands not in reserves; wet lands (rice and taro); schools, post offices, etc. The map was scanned and georeferenced by UHM Libraries MAGIS.

    A 50-m resolution gridded synthesis of all available bathymetry (ocean depth) data for the main Hawaiian Islands, from the Hawaii Mapping Research Group (HMRG) in the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST) at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Includes ship-borne multibeam sonar surveys as well as the Smith and Sandwell measured and estimated global seafloor topography. Land topography from USGS DEMs are included in the grid as well.

    Description

    Environmental Sensitivity Index (ESI) maps are an integral component in oil-spill contingency planning and assessment. They serve as a source of information in the event of an oil spill incident. ESI maps contain three types of information: shoreline habitats (classified according to their sensitivity to oiling), sensitive biological resources, and human-use resources. Most often, this information is plotted on 7.5 minute USGS quadrangles, although in the Alaska ESI maps, USGS topographic maps at scales of 1:63,360 and 1:250,000 are used, and in other ESI maps, NOAA charts have been used as the base map. Collections of these maps, grouped by state or a logical geographic area, are published as ESI atlases. Digital data have been published for most of the U.S. shoreline, including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.

    Description

    10-foot elevation contours for the extent of the state of Indiana, created from downloading, projecting and combining several datasets from USGS based on 7.5-minute quadrangle boundaries. These vector contour lines are derived from the 3D Elevation Program using automated and semi-automated processes. They were created to support 1:24,000-scale CONUS and Hawaii, 1:25,000-scale Alaska, and 1:20,000-scale Puerto Rico / US Virgin Island topographic map products, but are also published in this GIS vector format. Contour intervals are assigned by 7.5-minute quadrangle, so this vector dataset is not visually seamless across quadrangle boundaries. The vector lines have elevation attributes (in feet above mean sea level on NAVD88), but this dataset does not carry line symbols or annotation.     Description

    This database consists of a series of maps that depict the spatial distribution of nearshore topo-bathymetric transects along the peak wave directions and accompanying profiles that present elevation and depth values along these transects on the islands of Maui and Molokai.

    Transects are identified by Francis et al. (2024a). State of Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) state routes and Maui County Roads are acquired from HDOT (2023) and MC (2022). Shoreline datasets are provided by NGS (2017). Elevation and depth values along the transects are referenced to local mean sea level (LMSL) and are sampled from a digital elevation model (DEM) prepared by Francis et al. (2019).
