Data about the age of people with confirmed cases of COVID-19 was provided as part of the daily updates released by the Tennessee Department of Heath beginning on March 17, 2020. They are posted to the department's coronavirus disease web page: https://www.tn.gov/health/cedep/ncov.html. The counts are broken into 10-year age bands and are provided at the statewide-level. Date (DATE) - Date of report Age (AGE) - 10-year age breakdown of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Tennessee Total Case Count (TOT_CASE_COUNT) - Total number of people ever to have a confirmed case of COVID-19 in a given age range Share of Total Cases (SHARE_CASE_TOT) - For the given date, the share of people in a given age range as a proportion of the total number of people ever to have a confirmed case of COVID-19 New Case Count (NEW_CASE_COUNT) - The number of new cases reported to have a confirmed case of COVID-19 in a given age range since the report on the previous day Share of new cases (SHARE_NEW_CASES) - The share of people in a given age range reported as having a new confirmed case of COVID-19 in proportion to the total number of new cases reported since the previous day Total Deaths (DEATHS_TOT) - Number of COVID-19 related deaths that were ever reported for the age groupNew Deaths (DEATHS_NEW) - Number of COVID-19 related deaths that were reported since the previous dayShare of total deaths (SHARE_DEATHS_TOTAL) - Share of COVID-19 related deaths for the age group as percentage of the total reports deathsFID - Auto-generated unique feature ID. After over two years of public reporting, the State Profile Report will no longer be produced and distributed after February 2023. The final release was on February 23, 2023. We want to thank everyone who contributed to the design, production, and review of this report and we hope that it provided insight into the data trends throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Data about COVID-19 will continue to be updated at CDC’s COVID Data Tracker.
The State Profile Report (SPR) is generated by the Data Strategy and Execution Workgroup in the Joint Coordination Cell, in collaboration with the White House. It is managed by an interagency team with representatives from multiple agencies and offices (including the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the HHS Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, and the Indian Health Service). The SPR provides easily interpretable information on key indicators for each state, down to the county level.

Resident data include events that occurred to residents of Tennessee irrespective of where the events took place. Birth certificates filed with the TDH Office of Vital Records supplied the data for this report. Tennessee’s total birth trend indicates a gradual decline since the late 1940s when the rates were at record highs.
