TwitterThe County parcels dataset contains polygons representing individual taxed parcels or individual tax-exempt parcels tracked for taxing purposes. It also contains polygons representing the locations of multiple tax properties (multi-PID parcels). It is the combination of the parcel base dataset and the multiple parcel base dataset with attributes from a monthly extract of the property tax information system. The PID field contains the property ID number for each parcel. In the case of multiple tax properties, several parcel polygons may be stacked on top of one another. These are multiple tax parcels that cannot be delineated on a two-dimensional map, including both taxed and tax-exempt parcels. The parcels are represented with identical geometries but have different parcel IDs and associated tax attributes. For more information about this dataset, please view metadata.

TwitterThis dataset contains the street centerlines of roadways in Hennepin County in the Metro Regional Centerline (MRCC) standard format. It is primarily used for geocoding purposes. The attribute table includes road names and geocoding ranges for each road feature. The associated street alias table can be joined to this dataset using the UNIQUE_ID field and the JOIN_ID field from the alias table. More recently, the dataset has been enhanced to better support routing, including the conversion of single line segments to dual carriageway for divided highways and boulevards and the addition of access ramps. Speed, elevation, and one way attributes are also provided, allowing this dataset to be built into a routable network dataset
Attribute information is defined by the MRCC standard. Information on the standard, including attribute definitions, is available on the MetroGIS MRCC project site. While this dataset includes only Hennepin County roadways, it is intended to align with neighboring counties to provide a standard, multi-purpose regional street centerline dataset. The full regional dataset is available for download from MN Geospatial Commons website.

TwitterThis dataset includes an inventory of documented landslide activity within Hennepin County. Landslides dated before 2016 were compiled by several sources and may vary in accuracy. Landslides dated since 2016 have been reported and vetted through the county's Emergency Management Department. This dataset will be updated on an as-needed basis. To report landslide activity, please fill out this form.
Hennepin County Emergency Management, with several close partners, has produced a landslide atlas to document the historical distribution, associated slope steepness and, when possible, the triggers associated with landslides in Hennepin County. Research conducted for this atlas revealed the natural landslide processes at work in the county, as well as the ways that some human activities may increase exposure to slide risks. This atlas provides users with accessible local landslide information, including the geographic distribution of susceptible areas and the description of landslide precursors and triggers, such as springs. The atlas can guide landslide hazard avoidance and mitigation efforts, as well as emergency response planning. Developers and officials can employ the atlas to help identify areas where additional site-specific geologic study might be needed to safely guide construction or land-use activities. This atlas will also help efforts to establish specific landslide indications and alert criteria for times of possible elevated landslide activity in Hennepin County. TwitterA hazardous waste generator is a facility, typically a business, that generates through its operations waste that can pose risks to human health and the environmental if improperly managed. Hazardous waste generator facilities are regulated at the local, state and federal levels and are subject to annual licensing and reporting requirements as well as periodic compliance inspections.
All entities in Hennepin County that produce hazardous waste must be licensed and dispose of their wastes properly. A waste is considered hazardous if it falls under one of these categories:
It is specifically listed (appears on one of four lists in the Minnesota Hazardous Waste Rules) It exhibits one or more hazardous characteristics (ignitable, corrosive, toxic, reactive) It contains more than 50 parts per million (ppm) polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)
The identification of a location as a hazardous waste generator does not imply that waste has been improperly managed or that contamination is known or suspected to exist. The vast majority of hazardous waste generator facilities in Hennepin County operate in general compliance with applicable regulations.
The data set shows all locations in Hennepin County that have held a license for hazardous waste generation. The data includes both past and presently licensed operations and dates back to 1980. The information used to create this data comes from the hazardous waste generator licensing and inspection activities conducted by Environment and Energy staff. For more information about this dataset, please view metadata.

This data was compiled by the Mapping Prejudice Project and shows the location of racial covenants recorded in Hennepin County between 1910 and 1955. Racial covenants were legal clauses embedded in property records that restricted ownership and occupancy of land parcels based on race. These covenants dramatically reshaped the demographic landscape of Hennepin County in the first half of the twentieth century. In 1948, the United States Supreme Court ruled racial covenants to be legally unenforceable in the Shelly v. Kraemer decision. Racial covenants continued to be inserted into property records, however, prompting the Minnesota state legislature to outlaw the recording of new racial covenants in 1953. The same legislative body made covenants illegal in 1962. The practice was formally ended nationally with the passage of the Fair Housing Act in 1968. If you need to perform analysis, change symbology, or filter the data, use Hennepin_County_Racial_Covenants. The data underlying this web service and documentation about the variables can be accessed from the Data Repository for the University of Minnesota.
