To secure an equitable economic future, the United States must ensure that environmental and economic justice are key considerations in how we govern. That means investing and building a clean energy economy that creates well‑paying union jobs, turning disadvantaged communities — historically marginalized and overburdened — into healthy, thriving communities, and undertaking robust actions to mitigate climate change while preparing for the impacts of climate change across rural, urban, and Tribal areas. Agencies shall make achieving environmental justice part of their missions by developing programs, policies, and activities to address the disproportionately high and adverse human health, environmental, climate-related and other cumulative impacts on disadvantaged communities, as well as the accompanying economic challenges of such impacts. About this dataset

Context

The dataset presents the median household income across different racial categories in Eugene. It portrays the median household income of the head of household across racial categories (excluding ethnicity) as identified by the Census Bureau. The dataset can be utilized to gain insights into economic disparities and trends and explore the variations in median houshold income for diverse racial categories.

Key observations

Based on our analysis of the distribution of Eugene population by race & ethnicity, the population is predominantly White. This particular racial category constitutes the majority, accounting for 81.06% of the total residents in Eugene. Notably, the median household income for White households is $64,796. Interestingly, despite the White population being the most populous, it is worth noting that Some Other Race households actually reports the highest median household income, with a median income of $65,021. This reveals that, while Whites may be the most numerous in Eugene, Some Other Race households experience greater economic prosperity in terms of median household income.
