Revenue for apartment lessors has expanded through the end of 2025. Apartment lessors collect rental income from rental properties, where market forces largely determine their rates. The supply of apartment rentals has grown more slowly than demand, which has elevated rental rates for lessors' benefit. As the Federal Reserve hiked interest rates 11 times between March 2022 and January 2024, homeownership was pushed beyond the reach of many, resulting in a tighter supply and increased demand for rental properties. Despite three interest rate cuts in 2024, mortgage rates have remained stubbornly high in 2025, encouraging consumers to rent. Revenue has climbed at a CAGR of 2.6% over the past five years and is expected to reach $295.3 billion by the end of 2025. This includes an anticipated 1.4% gain in 2025 alone. The increasing unaffordability of housing is caused by the steady climb of mortgage rates and high prices maintained by a low supply. Supply has been held down as buyers who locked in low rates stay put, and investment groups hold a strategic number of their properties empty as investments. Industry profit has remained elevated because of solid demand for apartment rentals. Through the end of 2030, the apartment rental industry's future performance will be shaped by varying factors. The apartment supply in the US, which hit a record in 2024, is expected to taper off, which will push rental prices and occupancy rates up to the lessors' benefit. Other factors, such as interest rate cuts, decreasing financial barriers to homeownership and a high rate of urbanization, will also significantly impact the industry. With an estimated 80.7% of the US population living in urban areas, demand for apartment rentals will strengthen, although rising rental prices could force potential renters to cheaper suburbs. Demand will continue to outpace supply growth, prompting a climb in revenue. Revenue is expected to swell at a CAGR of 1.7% over the next five years, reaching an estimated $321.9 billion in 2030.

Revenue for the Residential Real Estate industry in China is expected to decrease at a CAGR of 9.8% over the five years through 2025. This trend includes an expected decrease of 9.6% in the current year.Since August 2020, the People's Bank of China and the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission have proposed three debt indicators for real estate development and management companies through which the company's financial health can be rated. This new policy has exacerbated the company's debt pressure, making it unable to repay old debts by borrowing new debt. Some real estate companies faced a liquidity crisis. In 2022, the city's lockdown and laying-off caused by COVID-19 epidemic led to the pressure of delaying the delivery of houses. The industry's newly constructed and completed areas decreased significantly throughout the year. In addition, the epidemic has impacted sales in the industry, and some sales offices have been forced to close temporarily. In 2022, the residential sales area decreased by 26.8%, and the residential sales decreased by 31.2%.Industry revenue will recover at an annualized 0.7% over the five years through 2030. Over the next five years, the industry's drag on GDP will weaken, and industry growth will stabilize. However, high housing prices have become a major social problem in China. Under the measures on the principle that residential real estate is used for living, not speculation, the financial attributes of real estate will gradually weaken, and housing prices will tend to stabilize.

These Kaggle datasets offer a comprehensive analysis of the US real estate market, leveraging data sourced from Redfin via an unofficial API. It contains weekly snapshots stored in CSV files, reflecting the dynamic nature of property listings, prices, and market trends across various states and cities, except for Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota, and with specific data generation for Texas cities. Notably, the dataset includes a prepared version, USA_clean_unique, which has undergone initial cleaning steps as outlined in the thesis. These datasets were part of my thesis; other two countries were France and UK.
These steps include: - Removal of irrelevant features for statistical analysis. - Renaming variables for consistency across international datasets. - Adjustment of variable value ranges for a more refined analysis.
Unique aspects such as Redfin’s “hot” label algorithm, property search status, and detailed categorizations of property types (e.g., single-family residences, condominiums/co-ops, multi-family homes, townhouses) provide deep insights into the market. Additionally, external factors like interest rates, stock market volatility, unemployment rates, and crime rates have been integrated to enrich the dataset and offer a multifaceted view of the real estate market's drivers.
The USA_clean_unique dataset represents a key step before data normalization/trimming, containing variables both in their raw form and categorized based on predefined criteria, such as property size, year of construction, and number of bathrooms/bedrooms. This structured approach aims to capture the non-linear relationships between various features and property prices, enhancing the dataset's utility for predictive modeling and market analysis.
See columns from USA_clean_unique.csv and my Thesis (Table 2.8) for exact column descriptions.
Table 2.4 and Section 2.2.3, which I refer to in the column descriptions, can be found in my thesis; see University Library. Click on Online Access->Hlavni prace.
If you want to continue generating datasets yourself, see my Github Repository for code inspiration.
Let me know if you want to see how I got from raw data to USA_clean_unique.csv. Multiple steps include cleaning in Tableau Prep and R, downloading and merging external variables to the dataset, removing duplicates, and renaming columns for consistency.

The Egypt residential real estate market exhibits robust growth potential, with a market size of $20.02 billion in 2025 and a projected Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 10.96% from 2025 to 2033. This expansion is driven by several factors. A burgeoning population, particularly a growing middle class, fuels increased demand for housing. Furthermore, government initiatives aimed at infrastructure development and affordable housing projects are stimulating market activity. Tourism's resurgence contributes positively, boosting demand for vacation homes and investment properties. The market is segmented by property type, with apartments and condominiums representing a significant portion, followed by villas and landed houses catering to higher-income segments. Leading developers such as Orascom Development Egypt, Ora Developers, and Emaar Misr are key players shaping the market landscape, contributing significantly to new construction and overall supply. While challenges such as fluctuating economic conditions and inflation exist, the long-term outlook remains optimistic given the sustained population growth and the government's focus on infrastructural improvements and housing provision. The market's segmentation allows for targeted investment strategies depending on risk tolerance and return expectations. TwitterA more recent version of these indicators can be found on this page: https://www.data.gouv.fr/fr/datasets/carte-des-loyers-indicateurs-de-loyers-dannonce-par-commune-en-2022/ Due to the evolution of the methodology and the communal mesh size, successive versions of the indicators cannot be compared to provide information on the evolution of rents. ### Context of the project Knowledge of the level of rents is important to ensure the proper functioning of the rental market and the conduct of national and local housing policies. The Directorate-General for Planning, Housing and Nature (DGALN) launched in 2018 the “rent map” project by partnering on the one hand with a research team in economics of Agrosup Dijon and the National Institute of Research in Agronomics (INRAE), and on the other hand with SeLoger, leboncoin and PAP. This innovative partnership has rebuilt a database with more than 9 million rental ads. On the basis of these data, the research team developed a methodology for estimating indicators, at the communal scale, of rent (including charges) per m² for apartments and houses. These experimental indicators are put online in order to be usable by all: state services, local authorities, real estate professionals, private donors and tenants. In a second phase of the project, the methodology will need to be consolidated and sustained, in order to provide for a regular update of these indicators. This project provides additional information to that offered by the Local Land Observatorys (OLL), deployed since 2013 and reinforced since 2018 by the Elan law. Today, this associative network of 30 OLL publishes every year precise information on the rents practiced in 51 of the main French agglomerations. ### Presentation of the dataset The data disseminated are indicators of ad rents, at the level of the municipality. The field covered is the whole of France, outside of Mayotte. The geography of the municipalities is the one in force on 1 January 2017. Rent indicators are calculated using ad data published on leboncoin, SeLoger and PAP over the period 2015-2019. Rent indicators are provided including charges for standard properties leased in the 3 rd quarter of 2018 with the following reference characteristics: — For an apartment: 49 m² and average area per room of 22.1 m² — For a house: 92 m² area and average area per room of 22.5 m² ### Data terms and conditions These indicators can be freely used, provided that the source is indicated as follows: “UMR 1041 CESAER estimates (AgroSup Dijon-INRAE) from SeLoger, leboncoin, PAP”. ### Precautions for use Rent indicators are calculated including charges, on ad data, so measure flow rents only. The data were duplicated but could not rely on very discriminating photos and characteristics. For municipalities with no housing leased through an advertisement on at least one of the three sites during the period considered, the rent indicator is that estimated for a larger grid comprising neighbouring municipalities with similar characteristics. Moreover, since the data do not make it possible to distinguish with certainty furnished and tourist rentals, biases in the rent indicators can be observed locally. Users are advised to consider rent indicators with caution in municipalities where the coefficient of determination (R2) is less than 0.5, the number of observations in the municipality is less than 30 or the prediction interval is very wide.
