    Description

Vector polygon map data of city limits from Houston, Texas containing 731 features.

City limits GIS (Geographic Information System) data provides valuable information about the boundaries of a city, which is crucial for various planning and decision-making processes. Urban planners and government officials use this data to understand the extent of their jurisdiction and to make informed decisions regarding zoning, land use, and infrastructure development within the city limits.

By overlaying city limits GIS data with other layers such as population density, land parcels, and environmental features, planners can analyze spatial patterns and identify areas for growth, conservation, or redevelopment. This data also aids in emergency management by defining the areas of responsibility for different emergency services, helping to streamline response efforts during crises..

This city limits data is available for viewing and sharing as a map in a Koordinates map viewer. This data is also available for export to DWG for CAD, PDF, KML, CSV, and GIS data formats, including Shapefile, MapInfo, and Geodatabase.

The Key Map Grid Index dataset contains rectangular features representing index pages within Montgomery County, Texas. Each index page is proportioned to fit a letter-sized map and is assigned a unique identifier for reference purposes. This dataset facilitates the organization and retrieval of key map grids, with 24 key map grids fitting within a single index page. The index pages are numbered sequentially, and the key map grids within each index page are lettered accordingly, excluding the letters "I" and "O" to avoid confusion with numbers. The Key Map Grid Index was created by the Houston Map Company, which covers multiple counties in the Houston metropolitan area including Harris, Fort Bend, Galveston, Brazoria, Liberty, Waller, and Montgomery Counties. More information can be found on the Houston Map Company's website at www.keymaps.com.Data Fields Included:Index Page ID: Unique identifier assigned to each index pageBoundary Polygon: Rectangle representing the proportionate index page

The All Roads Shapefile includes all features within the MTDB Super Class "Road/Path Features" distinguished where the MAF/TIGER Feature Classification Code (MTFCC) for the feature in MTDB that begins with "S". This includes all primary, secondary, local neighborhood, and rural roads, city streets, vehicular trails (4wd), ramps, service drives, alleys, parking lot roads, private roads for service vehicles (logging, oil fields, ranches, etc.), bike paths or trails, bridle/horse paths, walkways/pedestrian trails, stairways, and winter trails.

Linear Water Features includes single-line drainage water features and artificial path features that run through double-line drainage features such as rivers and streams, and serve as a linear representation of these features. The artificial path features may correspond to those in the USGS National Hydrographic Dataset (NHD). However, in many cases the features do not match NHD equivalent feature and will not carry the NHD metadata codes. These features have a MAF/TIGER Feature Classification Code (MTFCC) beginning with an "H" to indicate the super class of Hydrographic Features.

    Description

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release presents a digital database of geospatially enabled vector layers and tabular data transcribed from the geologic map of the Lake Owen quadrangle, Albany County, Wyoming, which was originally published as U.S. Geological Survey Geologic Quadrangle Map GQ-1304 (Houston and Orback, 1976). The 7.5-minute Lake Owen quadrangle is located in southeastern Wyoming approximately 25 miles (40 kilometers) southwest of Laramie in the west-central interior of southern Albany County, and covers most of the southern extent of Sheep Mountain, the southeastern extent of Centennial Valley, and a portion of the eastern Medicine Bow Mountains. This relational geodatabase, with georeferenced data layers digitized at the publication scale of 1:24,000, organizes and describes the geologic and structural data covering the quadrangle's approximately 35,954 acres and enables the data for use in spatial analyses and computer cartography. The data types presented in this release include geospatial features (points, lines, and polygons) with matching attribute tables, nonspatial descriptive and reference tables, and ancillary resource files for correct symbolization, in formats that conform to the Geologic Map Schema (GeMS) developed and released by the U.S. Geological Survey's National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program (GeMS, 2020). When reconstructed from the geodatabase's vector layers and tabular data that has been symbolized according to specifications encoded in the accompanying style file, and using the supplied Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) GeoAge font for labeling formations and GeoSym fonts for structural line decorations and orientation measurement symbols, this data release presents the Geologic Map as shown on the published GQ-1304 map sheet. These GIS data augment but do not supersede the information presented on GQ-1304. Description

This dataset is flattened and multicounty communities are unsplit by county lines. Flattened means that there are no overlaps; larger shapes like counties are punched out or clipped where smaller communities are contained within them. This allows for choropleth shading and other mapping techniques such as calculating unincorporated county land area. Multicounty cities like Houston are a single feature, undivided by counties. This layer is derived from Census, State of Maine, and National Flood Hazard Layer political boundaries.rnrnThe Community Layer datasets contain geospatial community boundaries associated with Census and NFIP data. The dataset does not contain personal identifiable information (PII). The Community Layer can be used to tie Community ID numbers (CID) to jurisdiction, tribal, and special land use area boundaries.rnrnA geodatabase (GDB) link is Included in the Full Data section below. The compressed file contains a collection of files that can store, query, and manage both spatial and nonspatial data using software that can read such a file. It bcontains all of the community layers/b, not just the layer for which this dataset page describes. rnThis layer can also be accessed from the FEMA ArcGIS viewer online: https://fema.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=8dcf28fc5b97404bbd9d1bc6d3c9b3cfrnrnrnCitation: FEMA's citation requirements for datasets (API usage or file downloads) can be found on the OpenFEMA Terms and Conditions page, Citing Data section: https://www.fema.gov/about/openfema/terms-conditions.rnrnFor answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the OpenFEMA program, API, and publicly available datasets, please visit: https://www.fema.gov/about/openfema/faq.rnIf you have media inquiries about this dataset, please email the FEMA News Desk at FEMA-News-Desk@fema.dhs.gov or call (202) 646-3272.
