Context

The dataset tabulates the population of New Britain by race. It includes the population of New Britain across racial categories (excluding ethnicity) as identified by the Census Bureau. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population distribution of New Britain across relevant racial categories.

These estimates are not comparable to Department of Education figures on highest level of attainment because they include qualifications obtained outside England and Wales.

Life-history interviews with black immigrants born before 1911 focusing on family life, community and work experience in England and Wales before 1918. The interview schedule covered first impressions of Britain; domestic routine, including the roles of husbands, wives and children; meals; the upbringing of children; emotional relationships and values in the family; leisure; religion; politics; race discrimination; culture; school; courtship and marriage; the wider family; relationships with neighbours and perception of the community structure. The collection comprises 17 interviews on 32 open-reel tapes. There are transcriptions of ten of these interviews. This measures percentage point differences in the proportions of each Black Minority and Ethnic (BME) group of young people on youth justice disposals against the proportions of each BME group in the equivalent local population. BME main groups are classified as those main groups in the 2001 census. The ONS latest mid-year estimated figures used for the local youth population by BME group. It is important to do the analysis by each of the ethnic groups and not the overall BME group, otherwise the under-represented groups counter-balance the over-represented groups – giving the false impression there is no over-representation of particular BME groups. Areas would only need to submit values for the number of offenders in each ethnic group, as the local population data would be sourced from ONS to do the required calculations. Young people are those aged 10-17 years.

_General health _

A person's assessment of the general state of their health from very good to very bad. This assessment is not based on a person's health over any specified period of time.

_Disability _

The definition of disability used in the 2021 Census is aligned with the definition of disability under the Equality Act (2010). A person is considered disabled if they self-report having a physical or mental health condition or illness that has lasted or is expected to last 12 months or more, and that this reduces their ability to carry out day-to-day activities.

Unpaid care

An unpaid carer may look after, give help or support to anyone who has long-term physical or mental ill-health conditions, illness or problems related to old age. This does not include any activities as part of paid employment. This help can be within or outside of the carer's household.

Unequal impact of COVID-19: BAME disproportionality This presentation includes some national data on health experiences of the BAME population, 2011 Census data on the ethnic make-up of Camden residents and ONS data on mortality rate by ethnicity as a result of Covid-19. It then deep dives into what our VCS organisations have heard first hand from our Black, Asian and other non-white ethnicity communities. This helps us to understand how the government measures have exacerbated the effects of COVID-19, and how they will continue to disproportionately affect people. British Election Study Ethnic Minority Survey, 2010 is a distinct survey with a separate sample and fieldwork to that of the main BES. While the main BES survey is a source of robust data at the national level, it cannot provide substantial interview numbers for some subgroups. In particular it has not been possible to conduct a thorough investigation of the political views and behaviours of Britain's ethnic minority populations through the main survey alone. A boost of ethnic minority respondents was carried out as part of the 1997 BES (SN 3891) but nothing since that point. As a result of this the ESRC agreed to fund a survey of ethnic minorities to be conducted immediately after the 2010 general election. The primary focus was on the five main ethnic minority groups - people of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Black Caribbean and Black African background. However, the research was intended to be complementary to the main BES and a large number of items are shared between the two surveys to enable comparative analysis. This dataset as reported to the Rural Payments Agency contains cattle born or imported into Great Britain, the total number of cattle for all breeds (dairy and non dairy) is 8,763,873 (excluding Welsh Blacks and Welsh Black X), Please be aware those in the 'age not known' category were born before 1 July 1996 and registered without a birth date.
