Included are colorectal, lung, breast, cervical and prostate cancer with cases defined using the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results (SEER) Groups for Primary Site based on the World Health Organization International Classification of Diseases for Oncology, Third Edition (ICD-O-3). Random rounding of case counts to the nearest multiple of 5 is used to prevent inappropriate disclosure of health-related information.

    Description

    The variables contained in the data sets are primarily concerned with perinatal outcomes and maternal health. A number of variables with respect to the social and economic status of the mothers and their families were also included (ie. Occupation, Marital status, Region). While all nine data sets are centered around these common themes and hold many variables in common, each data set has a unique combination of variables. The types of fields are wide-ranging but are primarily concerned with infant birth, maternal health, and socioeconomic status. The Montréal cases were transcribed from the Register of Patients of the University Lying-in Hospital, a large leather-bound ledger now kept in the McGill University Archives, Montréal, Quebec. Because the number of patients was small, all case records were coded. The series runs from 1843-1900. Unfortunately, the information for the period 1843 to 1850 is too limited to support systematic analysis. In 1901 the hospital adopted a new form of taking case records although the data gathered remained consistent with previous practice. Unfortunately, this information was not collected as thoroughly as had been the practice before the turn of the century. The series ends abruptly and inexplicably in 1905. The initial data base included 8216 cases.

    Description

    The High Resolution Digital Elevation Model (HRDEM) product is derived from airborne LiDAR data (mainly in the south) and satellite images in the north. The complete coverage of the Canadian territory is gradually being established. It includes a Digital Terrain Model (DTM), a Digital Surface Model (DSM) and other derived data. For DTM datasets, derived data available are slope, aspect, shaded relief, color relief and color shaded relief maps and for DSM datasets, derived data available are shaded relief, color relief and color shaded relief maps. The productive forest line is used to separate the northern and the southern parts of the country. This line is approximate and may change based on requirements. In the southern part of the country (south of the productive forest line), DTM and DSM datasets are generated from airborne LiDAR data. They are offered at a 1 m or 2 m resolution and projected to the UTM NAD83 (CSRS) coordinate system and the corresponding zones. The datasets at a 1 m resolution cover an area of 10 km x 10 km while datasets at a 2 m resolution cover an area of 20 km by 20 km. In the northern part of the country (north of the productive forest line), due to the low density of vegetation and infrastructure, only DSM datasets are generally generated. Most of these datasets have optical digital images as their source data. They are generated at a 2 m resolution using the Polar Stereographic North coordinate system referenced to WGS84 horizontal datum or UTM NAD83 (CSRS) coordinate system. Each dataset covers an area of 50 km by 50 km. For some locations in the north, DSM and DTM datasets can also be generated from airborne LiDAR data. In this case, these products will be generated with the same specifications as those generated from airborne LiDAR in the southern part of the country. The HRDEM product is referenced to the Canadian Geodetic Vertical Datum of 2013 (CGVD2013), which is now the reference standard for heights across Canada. Source data for HRDEM datasets is acquired through multiple projects with different partners. Since data is being acquired by project, there is no integration or edgematching done between projects. The tiles are aligned within each project. The product High Resolution Digital Elevation Model (HRDEM) is part of the CanElevation Series created in support to the National Elevation Data Strategy implemented by NRCan. Collaboration is a key factor to the success of the National Elevation Data Strategy. Refer to the “Supporting Document” section to access the list of the different partners including links to their respective data.

They cover almost all of the territory south of the 52nd parallel. The data is extracted from aerial photographs at a scale of 1:40,000 taken at an altitude of 6,300 meters. They offer an accuracy of approximately four meters in planimetry. In hypsometry, it is about two meters for dimensional points and about five meters for level curves. Each file covers an area of approximately 250 km2.     Housing Assessment Resource Tools (HART) This dataset contains 2 tables and 5 files which draw upon data from the 2021 Census of Canada. The tables are a custom order and contain data pertaining to older adults and housing need. The 2 tables have 6 dimensions in common and 1 dimension that is unique to each table. Table 1's unique dimension is the "Ethnicity / Indigeneity status" dimension which contains data fields related to visible minority and Indigenous identity within the population in private households. Table 2's unique dimension is "Structural type of dwelling and Period of Construction" which contains data fields relating to the structural type and period of construction of the dwelling. Each of the two tables is then split into multiple files based on geography. Table 1 has two files: Table 1.1 includes Canada, Provinces and Territories (14 geographies), CDs of NWT (6), CDs of Yukon (1) and CDs of Nunavut (3); and Table 1.2 includes Canada and the CMAs of Canada (44). Table 2 has three files: Table 2.1 includes Canada, Provinces and Territories (14), CDs of NWT (6), CDs of Yukon (1) and CDs of Nunavut (3); Table 2.2 includes Canada and the CMAs of Canada excluding Ontario and Quebec (20 geographies); and Table 2.3 includes Canada and the CMAs of Canada that are in Ontario and Quebec (25 geographies).     Description

    Overview: Each quarter, the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) publishes Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) statistics on Open Government Data Portal, including quarterly and annual LMIA data related to, but not limited to, requested and approved TFW positions, employment location, employment occupations, sectors, TFWP stream and temporary foreign workers by country of origin. The TFWP does not collect data on the number of TFWs who are hired by an employer and have arrived in Canada. The decision to issue a work permit rests with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and not all positions on a positive LMIA result in a work permit. For these reasons, data provided in the LMIA statistics cannot be used to calculate the number of TFWs that have entered or will enter Canada. IRCC publishes annual statistics on the number of foreign workers who are issued a work permit: https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/360024f2-17e9-4558-bfc1-3616485d65b9. Please note that all quarterly tables have been updated to NOC 2021 (5 digit and training, education, experience and responsibilities (TEER) based). As such, Table 5, 8, 17, and 24 will no longer be updated but will remain as archived tables. Frequency of Publication: Quarterly LMIA statistics cover data for the four quarters of the previous calendar year and the quarter(s) of the current calendar year. Quarterly data is released within two to three months of the most recent quarter. The release dates for quarterly data are as follows: Q1 (January to March) will be published by early June of the current year; Q2 (April to June) will be published by early September of the current year; Q3 (July to September) will be published by early December of the current year; and Q4 (October to December) will be published by early March of the next year. Annual statistics cover eight consecutive years of LMIA data and are scheduled to be released in March of the next year. Published Data: As part of the quarterly release, the TFWP updates LMIA data for 28 tables broken down by: TFW positions: Tables 1 to 10, 12, 13, and 22 to 24; LMIA applications: Tables 14 to 18; Employers: Tables 11, and 19 to 21; and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP): Tables 25 to 28. In addition, the TFWP publishes 2 lists of employers who were issued a positive or negative LMIA: Employers who were issued a positive LMIA by Program Stream, NOC, and Business Location (https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/90fed587-1364-4f33-a9ee-208181dc0b97/resource/b369ae20-0c7e-4d10-93ca-07c86c91e6fe); and Employers who were issued a negative LMIA by Program Stream, NOC, and Business Location (https://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/f82f66f2-a22b-4511-bccf-e1d74db39ae5/resource/94a0dbee-e9d9-4492-ab52-07f0f0fb255b). Things to Remember: 1. When data are presented on positive or negative LMIAs, the decision date is used to allocate which quarter the data falls into. However, when data are presented on when LMIAs are requested, it is based on the date when the LMIA is received by ESDC. 2. As of the publication of 2022Q1- 2023Q4 data (published in April 2024) and going forward, all LMIAs in support of 'Permanent Residence (PR) Only' are included in TFWP statistics, unless indicated otherwise. All quarterly data in this report includes PR Only LMIAs. Dual-intent LMIAs and corresponding positions are included under their respective TFWP stream (e.g., low-wage, high-wage, etc.) This may impact program reporting over time. 3. Attention should be given for data that are presented by ‘Unique Employers’ when it comes to manipulating the data within that specific table. One employer could be counted towards multiple groups if they have multiple positive LMIAs across categories such as program stream, province or territory, or economic region. For example, an employer could request TFWs for two different business locations, and this employer would be counted in the statistics of both economic regions.     Description

    The dataset contains all the method and data published by Emmanuel Dubois during his PhD project entitled impact of global changes on groundwater recharge in cold and humid climate, case study in southern Quebec (Canada). This research, carried out under the direction of Prof. Marie Larocque (UQAM), was part of a project aiming at developing new knowledge about the groundwater resources to anticipate the impact of climate change in southern Québec (Canada) and funded by the Québec Ministry of Environment and fight against climate change (MELCC). The study area, comprised of eight river watersheds and located between the St. Lawrence River and the USA-Quebec border (35 800 km2), is a strategic agricultural region with a hydrological dynamic led by cold winters and warm summers. The general objective of the research was to quantify the current and future impact of climate change on regional scale the groundwater recharge (GWR) in cold and humid climates, to better anticipate future conditions. Estimates of GWR were simulated with a 500 m x 500 m resolution and a monthly time step using the HydroBudget model (Dubois et al., 2021b), developed during the project. The model was calibrated over the 1961-2017 period using river flows and baseflows (Dubois et al., 2021a). It was used to simulate GWR over the 1961-2017 period (past) and the 1951-2100 period (scenarios). Each chapter of the thesis corresponds to a published (or submitted) article in a peer review journal. The data associated with each article were made public in individual Dataverse datasets. As well, the code of the HydroBudget model was made public on Dataverse (Dubois et al., 2021b), with an application example and a user guide (Dubois et al., 2021d). Each of these datasets contains detailed metadata, licences, and possible usage restrictions. Users are invited to refer to the individual datasets for more information. Chapter 2 of the thesis presents the article “Simulation of long-term spatiotemporal variations in regional-scale groundwater recharge: contributions of a water budget approach in cold and humid climates” published in the journal Hydrology and Earth Science System in 2021 (Dubois et al., 2021a).     The vector grid system provides a spatial and statistical infrastructure that allows the integration of environmental and socio-economic data. Its exploitation allows the crossing of different spatial data within the same grid units. Project results obtained using this grid system can be more easily linked. This grid system forms the geographic and statistical infrastructure of the Southern Quebec Land Accounts of the Institute of Statistics of Quebec (ISQ). It forms the geospatial and statistical context for the development of ecosystem accounting in Quebec. **In order to improve the vector grid system and the Land Accounts of Southern Quebec and to better anticipate the future needs of users, we would like to be informed of their use (field of application, objectives of use, territory, association with other products, etc.). This grid system allows the spatial integration of various data relating, for example, to human populations, the economy or the characteristics of land. The ISQ wishes to encourage the use of this system in projects that require the integration of several data sources, the analysis of this data at different spatial scales and the monitoring of this data over time. The fixed geographic references of the grids simplify the compilation of statistics according to different territorial divisions and facilitate the monitoring of changes over time. In particular, the grid system promotes the consistency of data at the provincial level. The spatial intersection of the grid and the spatial data layer to be integrated makes it possible to transfer the information underlying the layer within each cell of the grid. In the case of the Southern Quebec Land Accounts, the spatial intersection of the grid and each of the three land cover layers (1990s, 2000s and 2010s) made it possible to report the dominant coverage within each grid cell. The set of matrix files of Southern Quebec Land Accounts is the result of this intersection. **Characteristics: ** The product includes two vector grids: one formed of cells of 1 km² (or 1,000 m on a side), which covers all of Quebec, and another of 2,500 m² cells (or 50 m on a side, or a quarter of a hectare), which fits perfectly into the first and covers Quebec territory located south of the 52nd parallel. Note that the nomenclature of this system, designed according to a Cartesian plan, was developed so that it was possible to integrate cells with finer resolutions (up to 5 meters on a side). In its 2024 update, the 50 m grid system is divided into 331 parts with a side of 50 km in order to limit the number of cells per part of the grid to millions and thus facilitate geospatial processing. This grid includes a total of approximately 350 million cells or 875,000 km2. It is backwards compatible with the 50m grid broadcast by the ISQ in 2018 (spatial structure and unique identifiers are identical, only the fragmentation is different). **Attribute information for 50 m cells: ** * ID_m50: unique code of the cell; * CO_MUN_2022: geographic code of the municipality of January 2022; * CERQ_NV2: code of the natural region of the ecological reference framework of Quebec; * CL_COUV_T50: unique code of the cell; * CL_COUV_T00, CL_COUV_T01: codes for coverage classes Terrestrial maps from the years 1990, 2000 and 2010.
