    Description

    Users can access data pertaining to individuals with disabilities. Topics include but are not limited to: people with disabilities’ access to employment, technology, healthcare, and community based services. Background The Disability Statistics Center is based at the Institute for Health and Aging at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). The Disability Statistics Center generates reports ranging from employment opportunities, Medicaid home and community-based services, mobility device use, computer and internet use, wheelchair use, vocational rehabilitation, education, medical expenditures, and functional limitations among people with disabilities. User functiona lity Data is presented in report or abstract form and can be downloaded in PDF or HTML formats by clicking on the publications link. All reports and abstracts use United States data. Additional data sources are listed under “Finding Disability Data” and include data from the United States as well as international data.     Although the American Community Survey (ACS) produces population, demographic and housing unit estimates, it is the Census Bureau's Population Estimates Program that produces and disseminates the official estimates of the population for the nation, states, counties, cities, and towns and estimates of housing units for states and counties.

    Data are based on a sample and are subject to sampling variability. The degree of uncertainty for an estimate arising from sampling variability is represented through the use of a margin of error. The value shown here is the 90 percent margin of error. The margin of error can be interpreted roughly as providing a 90 percent probability that the interval defined by the estimate minus the margin of error and the estimate plus the margin of error (the lower and upper confidence bounds) contains the true value.     Description

    Table from the American Community Survey (ACS) S1810 disability characteristics by age. These are multiple, nonoverlapping vintages of the 5-year ACS estimates of population and housing attributes starting in 2015 shown by the corresponding census tract vintage. Also includes the most recent release annually.

    King County, Washington census tracts with nonoverlapping vintages of the 5-year American Community Survey (ACS) estimates starting in 2010. Vintage identified in the "ACS Vintage" field.

    The census tract boundaries match the vintage of the ACS data (currently 2010 and 2020) so please note the geographic changes between the decades.

    Tracts have been coded as being within the City of Seattle as well as assigned to neighborhood groups called "Community Reporting Areas". These areas were created after the 2000 census to provide geographically consistent neighborhoods through time for reporting U.S. Census Bureau data. This is not an attempt to identify neighborhood boundaries as defined by neighborhoods themselves.

    The census is undertaken by the Office for National Statistics every 10 years and gives us a picture of all the people and households in England and Wales. The most recent census took place in March of 2021.The census asks every household questions about the people who live there and the type of home they live in.     This data set includes annual counts and percentages of Medicaid enrollees who are eligible for benefits based on disability, overall; by reason for qualification of disability benefits; and by four subpopulation topics: age group, dual eligibility status, race and ethnicity, and managed care participation. These results were generated using Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System (T-MSIS) Analytic Files (TAF) Release 1 data and the Race/Ethnicity Imputation Companion File. This data set includes Medicaid enrollees in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands who were enrolled for at least one day in the calendar year, except where otherwise noted. Enrollees in Guam, American Samoa, and the Northern Mariana Islands are not included. The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) does not confer eligibility based on disability, so Medicaid expansion CHIP (M-CHIP) and separate CHIP (S-CHIP) enrollees are not included. Results shown for the race and ethnicity subpopulation topic exclude enrollees in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Results shown for the dual eligibility, race and ethnicity, and managed care participation subpopulation topics are restricted to working-age adults (ages 19 to 64) with comprehensive Medicaid benefits. Some rows in the data set have a value of "DS," which indicates that data were suppressed according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ Cell Suppression Policy for values between 1 and 10. This data set is based on the brief: "Medicaid enrollees who qualify for benefits based on disability in 2020." Enrollees are assigned to a disability category based on their latest reported eligibility group code and age in the calendar year. Enrollees are assigned to an age group subpopulation using age as of December 31st of the calendar year. Enrollees are assigned to a dual eligibility status subpopulation based on the dual eligibility code that applies to the majority of their enrolled-months during the year (Dual Eligibility Code). Enrollees are assigned to a race and ethnicity subpopulation using the state-reported race and ethnicity information in TAF when it is available and of good quality; if it is missing or unreliable, race and ethnicity is indirectly estimated using an enhanced version of Bayesian Improved Surname Geocoding (BISG) (Race and ethnicity of the national Medicaid and CHIP population in 2020). Enrollees are assigned to a managed care participation subpopulation based on the managed care plan type code that applies to the majority of their enrolled-months during the year (Enrollment in CMC Plans).     Latest Monthly statistics on Learning Disabilities and Autism (LDA) from the Assuring Transformation collection and MHSDS collection. This publication brings together the LDA data from the Assuring Transformation collection and the LDA service specific statistics from the Mental Health Statistics Data Set (MHSDS). There are differences in the inpatient figures between the MHSDS and AT data sets and work is underway to better understand these. NHS Digital plans to publish additional monthly comparator data from this work in future publications. The MHSDS LDA data are currently labelled experimental as they are undergoing evaluation. Further information on the quality of these statistics is available in the Data Quality section of the main report. It is planned that the MHSDS will become the sole source of inpatient LDA data in the future, replacing Assuring Transformation. There is a slight difference in scope between the two data collections. The MHSDS data is from providers based in England and includes care provided in England but may be commissioned outside England. Whereas the Assuring Transformation data are provided by English commissioners and healthcare will typically be provided in England but also includes data on care commissioned in England and provided elsewhere in the UK. The release comprises: Assuring Transformation Publication: This statistical release published by NHS Digital makes available the most recent data relating to patients with learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum disorder receiving inpatient care commissioned by the NHS in England MHSDS LDA Publication: This publication provides statistics relating to NHS funded secondary mental health, learning disabilities and autism services in England. These statistics are derived from submissions made using version 3.0 of the Mental Health Services Dataset (MHSDS). Prior to May 2018 the LDA service specific statistics were included in the main MHSDS publication. Each publication consists of the following documents: · A report which presents England level analysis of key measures. · A monthly CSV file which presents key measures at England level. · A metadata file to accompany the CSV file, which provides contextual information for each measure. · An easy read version of both main reports highlighting key findings in an easy-to-understand way.     Abstract copyright UK Data Service and data collection copyright owner. The main purpose of the research was to establish the prevalence rates of disability within the Northern Ireland household population. That is, the study aimed to provide us with estimates of the numbers of people with different types of disability. The definition of disability for the purposes of the NISALD was based on the concepts of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) which was developed and endorsed by the World Health Organisation. The NISALD series of questionnaires included an initial set of questions that established the type, nature and severity of disabilities. The survey instrument also included questions dedicated to collecting information on the socio-economic characteristics of the respondents and their perceptions of the environment in which they live. Fieldwork for adults and children living in private households was carried out throughout 2006 and was completed in early 2007. Results are planned to be released via a series of bulletins. The first bulletin containing top-line results from NISALD was published on 5 July 2007. Results showed that, in 2006/07, 18% of all people living in private households in Northern Ireland have some degree of disability. The prevalence rate for adults is 21% and 6% for children. If researchers or other interested parties require more in-depth analysis to be carried out requiring the use of string variables such as ‘cause of limitation’, which are not included in the UK Data Archive version, they should contact NISRA to discuss their needs. NISRA may be able to complete analysis on their behalf, thus ensuring any sensitive data remains protected. Description

Users can access data pertaining to individuals with disabilities. Topics include but are not limited to: people with disabilities’ access to employment, technology, healthcare, and community based services. Background The Disability Statistics Center is based at the Institute for Health and Aging at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). The Disability Statistics Center generates reports ranging from employment opportunities, Medicaid home and community-based services, mobility device use, computer and internet use, wheelchair use, vocational rehabilitation, education, medical expenditures, and functional limitations among people with disabilities. User functiona lity Data is presented in report or abstract form and can be downloaded in PDF or HTML formats by clicking on the publications link. All reports and abstracts use United States data. Additional data sources are listed under “Finding Disability Data” and include data from the United States as well as international data.
