💾Data Preparation:
The dataset is derived from the Starbucks Global Environmental & Social Impact Report for FY22, which consists of publicly accessible fiscal year data. The initial dataset was sourced from a PDF document, an impractical format for data analysis. To facilitate effective analysis, I meticulously transcribed the data from the PDF into a PostgreSQL database managed by pgAdmin 4.
Throughout this process, I addressed various challenges including missing data entries, most notably the complete absence of data for the year 2020. To handle these gaps, I assigned Null values to the corresponding data points. Additionally, I introduced a dedicated year column and restructured the data by transforming the rows and columns to enhance the dataset's suitability for time series analysis.
This comprehensive data preparation effort ensures that the dataset is now ready for meaningful exploration, analysis, and insights into Starbucks' environmental impact trends.
