In financial year 2023, the total tire production in India stood at around ***** million units. This was an increase of six percent over the preceding year. This volume comprised of tires made for trucks, buses, two and three-wheeler vehicles, passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, farm/tractors, OTR tires among others. Tire industry in India The tire industry in India was one of the largest in the world. By 2026, the tire industry was expected to grow almost four times compared to 2015. The sector was liberalized in the late 1980s and the raw material was imported without any restrictions. Also, natural rubber, the primary raw material for this sector, was available only on payment of customs duty. This industry had a considerable turnover. The major players in this market were MRF, Apollo Tyres, and JK Tyres, all making up more than half of the market share in terms of revenue. MRF – Madras Rubber Factory Madras Rubber Factory, popularly called MRF was the country’s largest manufacturer of tires. It started as a balloon factory in the mid-1940s and eventually turned into a tire manufacturing company. The company had a considerable presence in both the domestic and international markets. There were eight manufacturing plants across the country. Furthermore, the product portfolio comprised of various automobile categories across various price segments. As of 2021, MRF was the second largest company in the sector based on market capitalization.

Problem Statement
In the insurance industry, processing claims for vehicle damage is a common and most essential task. With the advancement in AI and Computer Vision, the users can settle the claims online instantly by uploading the images of the damaged car with the insurance company.
Now, insurance companies face the constant challenge of identifying fraudulent claims. It's a common practice for the users to submit the fraudulent images as a part of the claim settlement process. This brings out the threat/challenge to the insurance companies to identify the fraudulent claims which leads to significant financial losses.
Fraudulent claims often involve exaggerating the extent of damage or submitting false claims altogether. In this problem, we will focus on the first type of problem i.e. exaggerating the extent of damage. To mitigate these losses and maintain the integrity of their operations, insurance companies must develop effective methods to flag out these claims most accurately and efficiently.
The hackathon challenges you to develop a robust and high performance model for classifying an image of a car into different types of damages automatically with the help of computer vision techniques. By accurately identifying the damages, the insurance company can assess the legitimacy of the claim and make informed decisions regarding payouts.
Dataset
You are provided with 3 files:
Training set (train.zip) Test set (test.zip) Sample submission (sample_submission.csv)
Training Dataset
The training set contains a diverse dataset of car images of damaged vehicles from various angles, lighting conditions along with labels indicating the specific type of damage (e.g., dents, scratches, cracks, collision damage, etc)
Dataset Description
train.zip contains 2 files: images folder and train.csv
images folder contains the images to be used for training the model train.csv contains the 3 columns: image_id, filename and target class of the images present in the training dataset.
train.csv
Column | Description |
---|---|
image_id | Unique identifier of the image |
filename | Filename of the image |
label | Type of the damage present in the car |
| 1 | crack | | 2 | scratch | | 3 | tire flat | | 4 | dent | | 5 | glass shatter | | 6 | lamp broken |
Test Dataset
In the test set, you are provided with only the images and you need to predict the type of damage for each image present in the test set.
Dataset Description
test.zip contains only images folder and test.csv
images folder contains all the test images for which the prediction is to be done. test.csv contains 2 columns: image_id and filename and you need to predict the label for each present in the test set. test.csv |Column |Description| |---|---| | image_id | Unique identifier of the image | | filename | Filename of the image |
Sample Submission
The solution file must contain predictions for every image_id in the test set. It must contain only 2 columns - image_id and label. The solution file format must be similar to that of a sample_submission.csv file.
sample_submission.csv contains 2 variables - image_id and label
Variable Description
image_id Unique identifier of an image
label Type of the damage present in the car {1:crack,2:scratch, 3:tire flat, 4:dent,5:glass shatter,6:lamp broken}
Evaluation Metric
The model will be evaluated based on the macro f1 score.

Controlling the time-dependent mechanisms of fluidization or softening of colloidal gels by external forces like shear flow or ultrasound (US) waves, is a major challenge in many industrial applications (coating, cement placement, tires, chemical, bio and agro industries). The evolution of the rheological properties of colloidal dispersions from gel-like to fluid-like behavior and the reversibility of the sol-gel transition, constitute in many cases the aim of the process or has a huge impact on the final product properties. In this work we aim at studying the effects of combined shear flow and US on colloidal gels. First, we will study the time-dependent evolution of the structural organizations of attractive aggregated colloids forming typically heterogeneous fractal open structures. Second, on repulsive colloids forming homogeneous space-filling structures, we will focus more precisely on the change in dynamics at micrometer length scales induced by acoustic waves propagation.

Car service companies (SBI 502) Trade in car parts and accessories in combination with the installation of relevant parts and accessories, for example shock absorbers, exhausts, batteries, etc. of tires that are mainly mounted, repair of tires, balancing and aligning wheels . Repair of specific car parts such as radiators, shock absorbers, brakes, cardan shafts, etc.; repair of electrical car parts such as starter motors, batteries, alternators, wiring in cars, lighting, etc. This publication contains the main results of a survey that Statistics Netherlands conducts annually among companies in this sector based on a sample survey. The survey aims to map production, consumption and value added to a large number of economic activities. The results are incorporated into the National Accounts system. In the 2000 reporting year, a large number of changes were made to methods and procedures for production statistics. Reporting year 2000 is therefore a kind of start-up year, in which it is not (yet) possible to publish all variables in detail. Furthermore, the results for the 2000 reporting year (and later) are not directly comparable with those of previous years. For this reason it has been decided to include the results from the 2000 reporting year in a new publication "Key Figures Services". Data available from: 1996 to 1999 Frequency: Discontinued.
