The Geological Survey of South Australia has used SA Geodata to compile cleaned datasets of selected maximum downhole geochemistry for state-wide display on SARIG. Geochemical maps consist of drill hole locations, and sampled geochemical data transformed from single element values (obtained from whole rock ppm/ppb conversion) normalised to times average crustal abundance. The maximum nickel value from each drill hole has then been selected and displayed on SARIG.

This is a set of 4000 nickel (Ni) nanoparticle FINAL CONFIGURATIONS, for use in data-driven studies. These structures have been optimized (fully relaxed) using molecular dynamics with an embedded atom (EAM) interatomic potential, at various temperatures and growth rates.
All files are in XYZ format, and the naming convention is defined in the accompanying csv file that lists all of the structural features and energetic properties (see Supporting Attachments).
Sizes range from 91 atoms to 21063 atoms, with both crystalline and non-crystalline configurations and regions. Each nanoparticle has been characterised using a variety of topological features, including size, lattice structure, surface curvature and a number of order parameters. The final two columns in the accompanying csv file are target labels, providing the total energy and the excess formation energy. Other features can also be used as labels as desired. Lineage: Simulated by Amanda Barnard for the purposes of studying the impact of polydispersivity on the properties of nickel nanoparticle ensembles.

The demand for lithium-ion batteries (Li-ionBs) has surged, with a projected market value of $116 billion by 2030. However, only 5% of spent Li-ionBs are currently recycled due to the high costs, energy consumption, and environmental risks of existing recycling methods. This study focuses on developing an efficient, eco-friendly process to recover valuable metals like lithium (Li), cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni), and manganese (Mn) from Li-ionB waste, specifically targeting NMC 532 cathodes.Key innovations include using potentiostatic electrowinning with rotating cathodes and Pt-coated Ti anodes to selectively recover high-purity Ni-Co alloys (99% pure) , avoiding traditional, energy-intensive hydrometallurgical steps. Optimized leaching achieved recovery efficiencies of ~98.9% for Li, ~97.1% for Co, ~96.9% for Ni, and ~95.7% for Mn. Subsequent multi-stage precipitation recovered Ni, Co, Mn, and Li in various forms, lithium carbonate (LiāCOā, 99 % pure), manganese hydroxide (Mn(OH)ā, 99 % pure), and 0.6[Ni(OH)2].0.3[Mn(OH)2].0.1Co(OH)2. The spectra and chronoamperometry of the recovered materials are presented in the presented data sets.

Prospectivity model highlights areas of Canada with the greatest potential for magmatic nickel deposits. The preferred prospectivity model is based on public geological, geochemical, and geophysical datasets that were spatially indexed using the H3 discrete global grid system. Each H3 cell is associated with a prospectivity value, or class probability, calculated from the best-performing gradient boosting machines model. Model results are filtered to include the top 20% of prospectivity values for visualization purposes.

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Data Release provides concentrations from groundwater and soil extracts for iron (Fe), barium (Ba), strontium (Sr), cobalt (Co), and nickel (Ni). Groundwater analyses for pH and alkalinity are also included. Samples were collected at the National Crude Oil Spill Fate and Natural Attenuation Research Site, near Bemidji MN (USA) between 2009-2019. The site is in Beltrami County, where a high-pressure pipeline carrying crude oil burst in 1979 and spilled approximately 1.7 million liters (10,700 barrels) into glacial outwash deposits. A trace element plume occurred at the site, in which concentrations of Fe, Co, Ni, Ba, and Sr were mobilized from the sediments into the groundwater. These elements are regulated in groundwater by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or recommended for regulation by the World Health Organization (WHO). Laboratory and field measurements are included in this data release. There are three tables (.xlsx and .csv) in this dataset: 1) T1_BemidjiDataDictionary 2) T2_BemidjiGroundwaterChemistry 3) T3_BemidjiSedimentChemistry. T1_BemidjiDataDictionary provides metadata for tables T2 and T3; T2_BemidjiGroundwaterChemistry includes pH, alkalinity (HCO3-), and trace metal concentrations measured in groundwater samples; T3_BemidjiSedimentChemistry includes trace metal concentrations measured in sediment extracts. This data release provides data sets in tabular, database-ready format. The data contained in this data release were supported primarily by the USGS Environmental Health Toxic Substances Hydrology Program.
