    About this dataset

    Context

    The dataset tabulates the White Earth population over the last 20 plus years. It lists the population for each year, along with the year on year change in population, as well as the change in percentage terms for each year. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population change of White Earth across the last two decades. For example, using this dataset, we can identify if the population is declining or increasing. If there is a change, when the population peaked, or if it is still growing and has not reached its peak. We can also compare the trend with the overall trend of United States population over the same period of time.

    Key observations

    In 2023, the population of White Earth was 93, a 0% decrease year-by-year from 2022. Previously, in 2022, White Earth population was 93, a decline of 4.12% compared to a population of 97 in 2021. Over the last 20 plus years, between 2000 and 2023, population of White Earth increased by 28. In this period, the peak population was 99 in the year 2020.     Measurement technique
    To measure the rank and respective trends, we initially gathered data from the five most recent American Community Survey (ACS) 5-Year Estimates. We then analyzed and categorized the data for each of the racial categories identified by the U.S. Census Bureau. Based on the required racial category classification, we calculated the rank. For geographies with no population reported for the chosen race, we did not assign a rank and excluded them from the list. It is possible that a small population exists but was not reported or captured due to limitations or variations in Census data collection and reporting. We ensured that the population estimates used in this dataset pertain exclusively to the identified racial categories and do not rely on any ethnicity classification, unless explicitly required.For further information regarding these estimates, please feel free to reach out to us via email at research@neilsberg.com.

    About

    This dataset is a modified version of the Pokemon Image Dataset.

    Why was modification necessary?

    The modification involved augmentation. Why? Because it was observed that several GAN architectures were unable to learn the patterns of the Pokemon. This difficulty could be attributed to the fact that Pokemons come in various shapes and sizes. Furthermore, most Pokemons in the dataset only had a single image available (except for a few). As a result, 10 additional images were generated for each Pokemon using data augmentation techniques.

    The dataset tabulates the population of White Earth by gender across 18 age groups. It lists the male and female population in each age group along with the gender ratio for White Earth. Additionally, it can be used to see how the gender ratio changes from birth to senior most age group and male to female ratio across each age group for White Earth.

    Description

    The Portal Project Teaching Database is a simplified version of the Portal Project Database designed for teaching. It provides a real world example of life-history, population, and ecological data, with sufficient complexity to teach many aspects of data analysis and management, but with many complexities removed to allow students to focus on the core ideas and skills being taught. The database is currently available in csv, json, and sqlite. This database is not designed for research as it intentionally removes some of the real-world complexities.     Genomic analyses reveal poaching hotspots and illegal trade in pangolins from Africa to Asia

    Here we present a genomic approach for tracing confiscated scales from the world’s most trafficked mammal, the white-bellied pangolin (Phataginus tricuspis), to their geographic origins. Analyzing scales seized in Hong Kong SAR, China from 2012-2018 revealed intense poaching along Cameroon’s southern border. We utilized whole genome resequencing of white-bellied pangolins across their range to identify population structure, and then designed Fluidigm SNP-type assays diagnostic of the distinct genetic clusters to assign confiscated pangolin scales back to their origin. This data set includes the called genotypes using whole genome sequencing (in vcf form), the raw data of targeted SNP genotyping of georeferenced pangolins and confiscated pangolin scales, and custom scripts used for assignment analyses.

The average median household income in the U.S. has remained somewhat consistent since 1990, but has recently increased since 2014 until a slight decrease in 2020, potentially due to the pandemic. The state that had the highest number of people living below the poverty line in 2020 was California.

    Context

    The dataset tabulates the population of Earth by race. It includes the population of Earth across racial categories (excluding ethnicity) as identified by the Census Bureau. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population distribution of Earth across relevant racial categories.

About this dataset

Context

The dataset tabulates the White Earth population over the last 20 plus years. It lists the population for each year, along with the year on year change in population, as well as the change in percentage terms for each year. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population change of White Earth across the last two decades. For example, using this dataset, we can identify if the population is declining or increasing. If there is a change, when the population peaked, or if it is still growing and has not reached its peak. We can also compare the trend with the overall trend of United States population over the same period of time.

Key observations

In 2023, the population of White Earth was 93, a 0% decrease year-by-year from 2022. Previously, in 2022, White Earth population was 93, a decline of 4.12% compared to a population of 97 in 2021. Over the last 20 plus years, between 2000 and 2023, population of White Earth increased by 28. In this period, the peak population was 99 in the year 2020.
