    Description

These data include egg diameter estimates from Grass Carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) eggs collected during bongo net sampling in the Huron River (Ohio; 41.3305, -82.5812) on May 23, 2022 near Milan, Ohio. Egg diameters were estimated from photographs using proportional relationships of pixel lengths with a known length scale bar in millimeters. Given that eggs were not perfectly spherical, egg diameters were measured across two perpendicular axes and an average was calculated to represent an estimate of egg diameter (mm).

    Description

ART data are made available as part of the National ART Surveillance System (NASS) that collects success rates, services, profiles and annual summary data from fertility clinics across the U.S. There are four datasets available: ART Services and Profiles, ART Patient and Cycle Characteristics, ART Success Rates, and ART Summary. All four datasets may be linked by “ClinicID.” ClinicID is a unique identifier for each clinic that reported cycles. The Success Rates dataset contains success rates for ART cycles started during the year indicated. Since ART success depends on whether patients are using their own eggs or donor eggs, success rates are included separately for these two groups. Success rates for patients using their own eggs are shown per intended retrieval, per actual retrieval, and per transfer. These success rates are reported as cumulative success rates, which take into account transfers that occur within 1 year after an egg retrieval. Since ART success depends on whether patients are using ART for the first time or had prior ART cycles, users can examine success rates for all “Patients using their own eggs” or for “Patients with no prior ART using their own eggs.” For new patients using ART for the first time, the success rates are also shown after 1, 2, or all intended egg retrievals during the reporting year. In addition, the average number of transfers per intended retrieval and the average number of intended retrievals per live-birth delivery are shown. Success rates for ART cycles that involve the transfer of embryos created from donor eggs or donated embryos are shown and are not cumulative. They are based on donor cycles started in the year indicated that had embryo transfers, regardless of when the donor eggs were retrieved. Success rates in this section are not presented by patient age group because previous data show that an intended parent’s age does not substantially affect success when using donor eggs or donated embryos. The success rates are presented by types of embryos and eggs used in the transfer. This dataset excludes cycles that were considered research—that is, cycles performed to evaluate new procedures.

    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the Egg Harbor township population over the last 20 plus years. It lists the population for each year, along with the year on year change in population, as well as the change in percentage terms for each year. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population change of Egg Harbor township across the last two decades. For example, using this dataset, we can identify if the population is declining or increasing. If there is a change, when the population peaked, or if it is still growing and has not reached its peak. We can also compare the trend with the overall trend of United States population over the same period of time.

    Key observations

In 2023, the population of Egg Harbor township was 47,861, a 0.07% decrease year-by-year from 2022. Previously, in 2022, Egg Harbor township population was 47,894, an increase of 0.23% compared to a population of 47,785 in 2021. Over the last 20 plus years, between 2000 and 2023, population of Egg Harbor township increased by 17,000. In this period, the peak population was 47,894 in the year 2022. The numbers suggest that the population has already reached its peak and is showing a trend of decline. Source: U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates Program (PEP).

    Description

Body size is a critical component of organismal biology. Body size is known to be influenced by a plethora of environmental conditions, among which exposure to large-scale variations of salinity has been comparatively overlooked. Yet, exposure to salinity is known to affect energetic allocation toward growth and reproduction. In this study, we investigated the morphological differences between inland and coastal individuals of spined toads (Bufo spinosus) in Western France. We measured adult morphology both outside and during the reproductive season on 190 individuals, and assessed reproduction in pairs originating from inland (N=20) and coastal (N=30) environments. Overall, we found that adult coastal toads were smaller and lighter than inland individuals. Reproductive correlates of these differences included lower fecundity and smaller egg size (but higher egg density) in coastal females. Interestingly, these differences were not allometric correlates of body size, as coastal females invested proportionally less in all components of reproduction (fecundity, egg size and egg protection). These results suggest altered resource allocation to growth and reproduction in coastal amphibians, which may be related to the marked spatial gradient of salinity (measured in reproductive ponds) and the associated costs of osmoregulation (higher osmolality in coastal individuals), for which local adaptation and higher tolerance to salinity remains to be tested.

Methods The dataset is related to the article “The costs of living on the coast: reduction in body size and size-specific reproductive output in coastal populations of a widespread amphibian”. This article was meant to compare coastal and inland individuals of the species Bufo spinosus. These individuals were captured either during reproduction (50 amplectant pairs [amplexus], each constituted of one male [M] and one female [F], captured in ponds, from 16/02/2022 to 02/03/2022), or outside reproduction (90 individuals captured on roads, from 08/09/2022 to 15/10/2022). We provided two datasets, each one corresponding to one period of capture. These datasets allow us to determine differences in investment during reproduction, but also in morphology, between coastal and inland populations. Precise locations can be given on demand but were not included in the dataset as some captures were performed in natural reserves. Site (coastal or inland) is indicated, as well as date of capture. Individuals or amplectant pairs are identified by a letter corresponding to the site of capture (C for coastal and M for inland) as well as a number corresponding to their order of capture. During reproduction, for each amplexus (constituted of one male and one female), we assessed time to laying (time between capture and laying), egg strings’ length (mm), eggs’ diameter (mm), eggs’ density (number of eggs/mm) and number of eggs (all determined using the ImageJ software), size of both males and females (SVL: Snout-Vent-Length, given in mm), and calculated the size difference between a male and female in the same amplexus (both absolute and given in percentage), the initial (at capture) and final (after egg laying) of males and females, and the difference in mass between capture and egg laying (both absolute and given in percentage). Outside reproduction, we captured 45 males (M) and 45 females (F) independently (these individuals were opportunistically captured on roads in either coastal or inland locations), and computed their size (SVL: Snout-Vent-Length, given in mm) and mass (given in g).

    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the Egg Harbor population over the last 20 plus years. It lists the population for each year, along with the year on year change in population, as well as the change in percentage terms for each year. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population change of Egg Harbor across the last two decades. For example, using this dataset, we can identify if the population is declining or increasing. If there is a change, when the population peaked, or if it is still growing and has not reached its peak. We can also compare the trend with the overall trend of United States population over the same period of time.

    Key observations

In 2023, the population of Egg Harbor was 371, a 2.20% increase year-by-year from 2022. Previously, in 2022, Egg Harbor population was 363, an increase of 0.28% compared to a population of 362 in 2021. Over the last 20 plus years, between 2000 and 2023, population of Egg Harbor increased by 115. In this period, the peak population was 371 in the year 2023. The numbers suggest that the population has not reached its peak yet and is showing a trend of further growth. Source: U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates Program (PEP).

    Description

A long-term, multiseason, fish egg sampling program is conducted annually on the Detroit, Saint Clair, and Saint Marys rivers to identify where productive fish spawning habitat currently exists and evaluate habitat restoration projects. Egg mats were placed on the river bottom during the spring and fall at historic spawning areas, candidate fish spawning habitat restoration sites, and completed spawning habitat restoration sites throughout the rivers. Widespread evidence was found of lithophilic spawning by numerous native fish species, including walleye (Sander vitreus), lake whitefish (Coregonus clupeaformis), lake sturgeon (Acipenser fulvescens), suckers (Family: Catostomidae), and trout-perch (Percopsis omiscomaycus). The data describe the number, density, date of collection, and exact collection location of fish eggs collected in the St. Clair (2010-2022), Detroit (2005-2022), and St. Marys rivers (2018-2022).

    Context

Ray Kroc wanted to build a restaurant system that would be famous for providing food of consistently high quality and uniform methods of preparation. He wanted to serve burgers, buns, fries and beverages that tasted just the same in Alaska as they did in Alabama. To achieve this, he chose a unique path: persuading both franchisees and suppliers to buy into his vision, working not for McDonald’s but for themselves, together with McDonald’s. Many of McDonald’s most famous menu items – like the Big Mac, Filet-O-Fish, and Egg McMuffin – were created by franchisees.

    Content

This dataset provides a nutrition analysis of every menu item on the US McDonald's menu, including breakfast, beef burgers, chicken and fish sandwiches, fries, salads, soda, coffee and tea, milkshakes, and desserts.

    Acknowledgements

The menu items and nutrition facts were scraped from the McDonald's website.

    Inspiration

How many calories does the average McDonald's value meal contain? How much do beverages, like soda or coffee, contribute to the overall caloric intake? Does ordered grilled chicken instead of crispy increase a sandwich's nutritional value? What about ordering egg whites instead of whole eggs? What is the least number of items could you order from the menu to meet one day's nutritional requirements?

--- Dataset description provided by original source is as follows ---

Egg and progeny counts for Trogoderma variabile and Trogoderma inclusum adults with delays in mating. These data were generated to examine the effect of mating delay on life history and reproductive capacity as a cue to the use of mating disruption tactics such as pheromone lures. Survivorship was calculated as the last day egg counts were recorded for an individual. Blocks were adults that were all mated on the same day. Reps are an individual female. Control beetles are coded with either an "f" or an "m" for female and male and were never mated. Male control data was examined for similarity to female control data but was not used in further analysis and comparison. The experiment was all done at 30C, 65% relative humidity and a 16 light/8 dark photoperiod. Adults were transferred every 2 days to new vials and eggs were then counted and save for progeny counts. Trogoderma variabile populations were laboratory colonies for over 20 years. T. inclusum populations were collected in Kansas in August of 2012. We did not transform these data.
