    Description

ART data are made available as part of the National ART Surveillance System (NASS) that collects success rates, services, profiles and annual summary data from fertility clinics across the U.S. There are four datasets available: ART Services and Profiles, ART Patient and Cycle Characteristics, ART Success Rates, and ART Summary. All four datasets may be linked by “ClinicID.” ClinicID is a unique identifier for each clinic that reported cycles. The Success Rates dataset contains success rates for ART cycles started during the year indicated. Since ART success depends on whether patients are using their own eggs or donor eggs, success rates are included separately for these two groups. Success rates for patients using their own eggs are shown per intended retrieval, per actual retrieval, and per transfer. These success rates are reported as cumulative success rates, which take into account transfers that occur within 1 year after an egg retrieval. Since ART success depends on whether patients are using ART for the first time or had prior ART cycles, users can examine success rates for all “Patients using their own eggs” or for “Patients with no prior ART using their own eggs.” For new patients using ART for the first time, the success rates are also shown after 1, 2, or all intended egg retrievals during the reporting year. In addition, the average number of transfers per intended retrieval and the average number of intended retrievals per live-birth delivery are shown. Success rates for ART cycles that involve the transfer of embryos created from donor eggs or donated embryos are shown and are not cumulative. They are based on donor cycles started in the year indicated that had embryo transfers, regardless of when the donor eggs were retrieved. Success rates in this section are not presented by patient age group because previous data show that an intended parent’s age does not substantially affect success when using donor eggs or donated embryos. The success rates are presented by types of embryos and eggs used in the transfer. This dataset excludes cycles that were considered research—that is, cycles performed to evaluate new procedures.

    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the Egg Harbor township population over the last 20 plus years. It lists the population for each year, along with the year on year change in population, as well as the change in percentage terms for each year. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population change of Egg Harbor township across the last two decades. For example, using this dataset, we can identify if the population is declining or increasing. If there is a change, when the population peaked, or if it is still growing and has not reached its peak. We can also compare the trend with the overall trend of United States population over the same period of time.

    Key observations

In 2023, the population of Egg Harbor township was 47,861, a 0.07% decrease year-by-year from 2022. Previously, in 2022, Egg Harbor township population was 47,894, an increase of 0.23% compared to a population of 47,785 in 2021. Over the last 20 plus years, between 2000 and 2023, population of Egg Harbor township increased by 17,000. In this period, the peak population was 47,894 in the year 2022. The numbers suggest that the population has already reached its peak and is showing a trend of decline. Source: U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates Program (PEP).

    Description

The New Delhi Metallo-β-lactamase (NDM) producing Enterobacterales has been detected from diverse sources but has rarely been reported in retail eggs. In this study, 144 eggshell and 96 egg content samples were collected in 2022 from Guangdong province and were screened for NDM-producing strains. Four Escherichia coli strains (ST3014, ST10, ST1485, and ST14747) recovered from two (1.39%, 2 of 144) eggshells and two (2.08%, 2 of 96) egg content samples were identified as blaNDM−5-positive strains. Oxford Nanopore MinION sequencing and conjugation assays revealed that the blaNDM−5 gene was carried by IncX3 (n = 1), IncI1 (n = 1), and IncHI2 (n = 2). The IncI1-plasmid-carrying blaNDM−5 displayed high homology with one plasmid pEC6563-NDM5 from the human clinic, while the IncHI2 plasmid harboring blaNDM−5 shared highly similar structures with plasmids of animal origin. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on the identification of blaNDM−5-positive bacteria in retail eggs. NDM-producing E. coli could be transmitted to humans by the consumption of eggs or direct contact, which could pose a potential threat to human health.

    Description

This abstract briefly summarizes data collected from a series of experiments forming a total of 6 chapters in Teka Dewo’s PhD thesis (2022). The data were collected from about 8 different field and laboratory experiments conducted at different times on chicken gastrointestinal nematodes and cover worm egg recovery, storage, propagation in chickens and in vivo/ in vitro anthelmintic efficacy testing. One category of data was generated from an online survey of producers which was implemented using SurveyMonkey platform. Data from the first experiment (Chapter 3) were generated from studies on worm eggs/larvae and include in vitro egg production by mature female worms (total count), egg embryonation (described as five egg morphological stages), and viability and hatching, most of which were expressed as percentage (%). The second experiment (Chapter 4) was a worm propagation study and measurements included chicken body weight and excreta egg count (EEC, expressed as eggs/gram of excreta/EPG) recorded over time until 10 weeks post-infection, and excreta consistency score (ECS) and worm counts recorded at 8 and 10 weeks post-infection. For in vivo anthelmintic efficacy studies (chapters 5, 6 and 7 which involved 5 experiments) the measurements were mainly pre- and post-treatment EEC (expressed as EPG) recorded on the day of anthelmintic treatment (day 0) and then 10 days post-treatment, and worm counts (adult, luminal larvae and histotrophic larvae) recorded 10 days post-treatment. Two experiments (Chapter 6) also assessed effect of anthelmintics on embryonation of eggs recovered from worms eliminated following treatment and measurements were percentage egg embryonation (described as five egg morphological stages). Measurements for the in vitro anthelmintic efficacy study (chapter 8) included worm egg recovery efficiency from excreta (%), morphological quality of eggs (% intact or damaged eggs), developmental ability of eggs (%) described as five egg morphological stages, larval hatching (%) and survival over time (%), inhibition of egg embryonation (%) and inhibition of larval migration (%). All data collected from each experiment were entered into excel file separately with detailed information and keys of different abbreviations used on separate sheets. Data from some parameters such as EEC, worm count and drug concentrations were log transformed before analysis to attain normality of data distribution.

    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset tabulates the Egg Harbor population over the last 20 plus years. It lists the population for each year, along with the year on year change in population, as well as the change in percentage terms for each year. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population change of Egg Harbor across the last two decades. For example, using this dataset, we can identify if the population is declining or increasing. If there is a change, when the population peaked, or if it is still growing and has not reached its peak. We can also compare the trend with the overall trend of United States population over the same period of time.

    Key observations

In 2023, the population of Egg Harbor was 371, a 2.20% increase year-by-year from 2022. Previously, in 2022, Egg Harbor population was 363, an increase of 0.28% compared to a population of 362 in 2021. Over the last 20 plus years, between 2000 and 2023, population of Egg Harbor increased by 115. In this period, the peak population was 371 in the year 2023. The numbers suggest that the population has not reached its peak yet and is showing a trend of further growth. Source: U.S. Census Bureau Population Estimates Program (PEP).

    Description

Early rearing of steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss) in Oregon hatcheries is often problematic; fry can become emaciated and die during the period between hatch and first feed. Thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency has caused early mortality in salmonids; however, thiamine status of Oregon’s anadromous steelhead populations is currently unknown. We sampled eggs of 7-10 females during spawning from three Oregon hatcheries in 2019. In 2022, females were injected with buffered thiamine HCl 50 mg/kg prior to spawning; additionally, a subset of eggs were supplemented via bath treatment with thiamine mononitrate (1000 ppm) at spawning. We then compared egg thiamine from control and injected females, as well as measured mortality and growth in fry for 8-weeks post-hatch from control, egg baths of thiamine, injection-only, and both injection and baths. These data identify thiamine deficiency in Oregon steelhead and suggest supplementation with thiamine can mitigate impacts to survival during early rearing.
