Based on 2019 building footprint data obtained from BuildingFootprintUSA (except that 2014 building footprint data was used for Imperial County). Please note that 2019 building footprint data does not cover the entire SCAG region (overlapped with 83% of parcels in the SCAG Region).5. Includes brownfield/superfund site whose address information are matched by SCAG rooftop address locator. Brownfield data was obtained from EPA's Assessment, Cleanup and Redevelopment Exchange System (ACRES) database, Cleanups in my community (CIMC), DTSC brownfield Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). Superfund site data was obtained from EPA's Superfund Enterprise Management System (SEMS) database.6. Parcels with a zero value for building footprint area are marked as NULL to indicate this field is not reliable.7. These values are intended as a rudimentary indicator of accessibility developed by SCAG using 2016 InfoUSA business establishment data and 2017 California Protected Areas data. See documentation for details.8. A detailed study conducted by Cal Poly Pomona (CPP) and available hereconducted an extensive review of state and local requirements and development trends for ADUs in the SCAG region and developed a baseline set of assumptions for estimating how many of a jurisdiction’s parcels

    Description

This dataset includes all 7 metro counties that have made their parcel data freely available without a license or fees.

This dataset is a compilation of tax parcel polygon and point layers assembled into a common coordinate system from Twin Cities, Minnesota metropolitan area counties. No attempt has been made to edgematch or rubbersheet between counties. A standard set of attribute fields is included for each county. The attributes are the same for the polygon and points layers. Not all attributes are populated for all counties.

NOTICE: The standard set of attributes changed to the MN Parcel Data Transfer Standard on 1/1/2019.
    https://www.mngeo.state.mn.us/committee/standards/parcel_attrib/parcel_attrib.html

See section 5 of the metadata for an attribute summary.

Detailed information about the attributes can be found in the Metro Regional Parcel Attributes document.

The polygon layer contains one record for each real estate/tax parcel polygon within each county's parcel dataset. Some counties have polygons for each individual condominium, and others do not. (See Completeness in Section 2 of the metadata for more information.) The points layer includes the same attribute fields as the polygon dataset. The points are intended to provide information in situations where multiple tax parcels are represented by a single polygon. One primary example of this is the condominium, though some counties stacked polygons for condos. Condominiums, by definition, are legally owned as individual, taxed real estate units. Records for condominiums may not show up in the polygon dataset. The points for the point dataset often will be randomly placed or stacked within the parcel polygon with which they are associated.

The polygon layer is broken into individual county shape files. The points layer is provided as both individual county files and as one file for the entire metro area.

In many places a one-to-one relationship does not exist between these parcel polygons or points and the actual buildings or occupancy units that lie within them. There may be many buildings on one parcel and there may be many occupancy units (e.g. apartments, stores or offices) within each building. Additionally, no information exists within this dataset about residents of parcels. Parcel owner and taxpayer information exists for many, but not all counties.

This is a MetroGIS Regionally Endorsed dataset.

Additional information may be available from each county at the links listed below. Also, any questions or comments about suspected errors or omissions in this dataset can be addressed to the contact person at each individual county.

    Description

These footprint extents are collapsed from an earlier 3D building model provided by Pictometry of 2010, and have been refined from a version of building masses publicly available on the open data portal for over two years. The building masses were manually split with reference to parcel lines, but using vertices from the building mass wherever possible. These split footprints correspond closely to individual structures even where there are common walls; the goal of the splitting process was to divide the building mass wherever there was likely to be a firewall. An arbitrary identifier was assigned based on a descending sort of building area for 177,023 footprints. The centroid of each footprint was used to join a property identifier from a draft of the San Francisco Enterprise GIS Program's cartographic base, which provides continuous coverage with distinct right-of-way areas as well as selected nearby parcels from adjacent counties. See accompanying document SF_BldgFoot_2017-05_description.pdf for more on methodology and motivation

    Description

This is a collection of layers created by Tian Xie(Intern in DDP) in August, 2018. This collection includes Detroit Parcel Data(Parcel_collector), InfoUSA business data(BIZ_INFOUSA), and building data(Building). The building and business data have been edited by Tian during field research and have attached images.

The original source for these layers are:
    1. Business Data: InfoUSA business database purchased by DDP in 2017
    2. Building Data: Detroit Building Footprint data
    3. Parcel Data: from Detroit Open Data Portal, download in May 2018.
For field research by Tian, some fields have been added and some records in building and business have been edited.
    1. For business data, Tian confirmed most of public assessable businesses and deleted those which do not exist. Also, Tian add new Business to the business data if it did not exist on the record.
    2. For building data, Tian recorded the total business space for each building, not-empty business space, occupancy status, parking adjacency status, and took picture for every building in downtown Detroit.

    Description

This dataset is a compilation of tax parcel polygon layers from the seven Twin Cities, Minnesota metropolitan area counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington. The seven counties were assembled into a common coordinate system. No attempt has been made to edgematch or rubbersheet between counties. A standard set of attribute fields is included for each county. Not all attributes are populated for all counties.

This is an annual version of the MetroGIS Regional Parcel Dataset that can be used with other annual versions to do change analysis and time series investigations. This dataset is intended to contain all updates to each county's parcel data through the end of 2003. It was originally published as the 'January 1, 2004' version of the dataset. See the Currentness Reference below and the Entity and Attribute information in Section 5 for more information about the dates for specific aspects of the dataset.

This dataset contains one record for each real estate/tax parcel polygon. In many places a one-to-one relationship does not exist between these parcel polygons and the actual buildings or occupancy units that lie within them. There may be many buildings on one parcel and there may be many occupancy units (e.g. apartments, stores or offices) within each building. Additionally, no information exists within this dataset about residents of parcels. Parcel owner and taxpayer information exists for many, but not all counties.

Some counties have also made available a parcel points dataset that includes the same attribute fields as the polygon dataset. The point are intended to provide information in situations where multiple tax parcels are represented by a single polygon. The primary example of this is the condominium. Condominiums, by definition, are legally owned as individual, taxed real estate units. Records for condominiums may not show up in the polygon dataset.

This is a MetroGIS Regionally Endorsed dataset.

Montana Parcel and Structures by Build YearThe density of property development varies across time and space within the State of Montana. This map highlights areas developed recently and areas developed long ago. The Montana Department of Revenue (DOR) maintains property tax information for every parcel owned in the State of Montana. For property tax purposes, parcels are classified as residential, commercial, farmland, tax exempt and many more property types. The points on this map display the location of structures with parcel information from the property tax database. There is currently no way to identify the build year for individual structures. This requires that all structures within a parcel are assigned the same parcel information. This map is focused on parcels with buildings and includes Residential Dwellings, Commercial Buildings and Other Buildings. Two primary attributes in this point layer display different aspects of each parcel.1. Earliest Build Year (YearBuiltMin) - The earliest year built for all residential dwellings and commercial buildings within a parcel. If a parcel has more than one building the earliest build year of any building in the parcel is assigned to YearBuiltMin. 2. Total Value - Total Building value plus Total Land value for each parcel. This is the assessed property tax value and not the market value of the property.Map compiled by Montana Department of Commerce. Property tax information from Montana Department of Revenue. Description

This dataset contains tax parcel polygons for Ramsey County, Minnesota. A standard set of attribute fields is included, which is similar to MetroGISs Regional Parcel Dataset (field names differ but content is the same - see attribute alias for MetroGIS name). Not all attributes are populated. The polygon layer contains one record for each real estate/tax parcel polygon within each county's parcel dataset. Condominiums, by definition, are legally owned as individual, taxed real estate units. Records for condominiums may not show up in the polygon dataset. Ramsey County has a point layer intended to provide information in situations where multiple tax parcels are represented by a single polygon. In many places, a one-to-one relationship does not exist between these parcel polygons or points and the actual buildings or occupancy units that lie within them. There may be many buildings on one parcel and there may be many occupancy units (e.g. apartments, stores or offices) within each building. Additionally, no information exists within this dataset about residents of parcels. Parcel owner and taxpayer information exists for many, but not all. This is a MetroGIS Regionally Endorsed dataset. (See http://www.metrogis.org/data/about/index.shtml#whatis for more information.) Each of the seven Metro Area counties has entered into a multiparty agreement with the Metropolitan Council to assemble and distribute the parcel data for each county as a regional (seven county) parcel dataset.

    Description

Note: please go to https://data.sfgov.org/d/ynuv-fyni to access the same data in additional open formats. See accompanying document SF_BldgFoot_2017-05_description.pdf for more on methodology and motivation https://data.sfgov.org/d/ynuv-fyni/ about

    Dataset provided by
    MetroGIS
    Description

This dataset includes all 7 metro counties that have made their parcel data freely available without a license or fees. This also includes a combined layer of all points of the 7 counties.

    Area covered
    Description

These boundaries are for planning purposes only and are not survey grade. For the most up-to-date assessing info, please contact the Town's Assessor. The respective Fiscal Year of publication is provided in the parcel pop-up info window. Years may vary from town to town. The parcels from each town on Martha's Vineyard are included in this web map. The map must be zoomed in far enough before the parcels will display on the map. The data are served out from MassGIS. All parcel data comply with the MassGIS Level 3 Parcel Data Standard. Each Town in Dukes County hires their own parcel data consultant to maintain their GIS parcel file. In most cases, this is done once a year. At the time of data compilation, the town Assessor exports a standard info file from their database which gets associated with each digital parcel. The Town's consultant pulls the parcel bounds and assessing info table into a spatial geodatabase which is then forwarded to MassGIS. MassGIS completes a few additional data management tasks and then serves out the data through their ArcGIS OnLine organizational website. The Martha's Vineyard Commission (MVC) then pulls that parcel data feature class into this web map and sets a few things such as visibility zoom extents and how the data display in the pop-up. The MVC does not edit these data in any way.Building Info Note: If there are multiple buildings on a parcel, the building info provided is only for one building on the parcel. Which building (i.e. largest, smallest, newest, oldest) is unknown. Parcels with Multiple Owners (i.e. Condo): If there are multiple owners on one parcel, when clicking on the pop-up you'll see the option to cycle through several records worth of assessing info.Understanding the Attributes: See the MassGIS Level 3 Parcel Data website for details.

    Description

Analysis of ‘Parcel collector’ provided by Analyst-2 (analyst-2.ai), based on source dataset retrieved from https://catalog.data.gov/dataset/23f2a097-00e0-44ce-9eb1-c79232471121 on 26 January 2022.

--- Dataset description provided by original source is as follows ---

    Description

Update information can be found within the layer’s attributes and in a table on the Utah Parcel Data webpage under LIR Parcels. In Spring of 2016, the Land Information Records work group, an informal committee organized by the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget’s State Planning Coordinator, produced recommendations for expanding the sharing of GIS-based parcel information. Participants in the LIR work group included representatives from county, regional, and state government, including the Utah Association of Counties (County Assessors and County Recorders), Wasatch Front Regional Council, Mountainland and Bear River AOGs, Utah League of Cities and Towns, UDOT, DNR, AGRC, the Division of Emergency Management, Blue Stakes, economic developers, and academic researchers. The LIR work group’s recommendations set the stage for voluntary sharing of additional objective/quantitative parcel GIS data, primarily around tax assessment-related information. Specifically the recommendations document establishes objectives, principles (including the role of local and state government), data content items, expected users, and a general process for data aggregation and publishing. An important realization made by the group was that ‘parcel data’ or ‘parcel record’ products have a different meaning to different users and data stewards. The LIR group focused, specifically, on defining a data sharing recommendation around a tax year parcel GIS data product, aligned with the finalization of the property tax roll by County Assessors on May 22nd of each year. The LIR recommendations do not impact the periodic sharing of basic parcel GIS data (boundary, ID, address) from the County Recorders to AGRC per 63F-1-506 (3.b.vi). Both the tax year parcel and the basic parcel GIS layers are designed for general purpose uses, and are not substitutes for researching and obtaining the most current, legal land records information on file in County records. This document, below, proposes a schedule, guidelines, and process for assembling county parcel and assessment data into an annual, statewide tax parcel GIS layer. gis.utah.gov/data/sgid-cadastre/ It is hoped that this new expanded parcel GIS layer will be put to immediate use supporting the best possible outcomes in public safety, economic development, transportation, planning, and the provision of public services. Another aim of the work group was to improve the usability of the data, through development of content guidelines and consistent metadata documentation, and the efficiency with which the data sharing is distributed.GIS Layer Boundary Geometry:GIS Format Data Files: Ideally, Tax Year Parcel data should be provided in a shapefile (please include the .shp, .shx, .dbf, .prj, and .xml component files) or file geodatabase format. An empty shapefile and file geodatabase schema are available for download at:At the request of a county, AGRC will provide technical assistance to counties to extract, transform, and load parcel and assessment information into the GIS layer format.Geographic Coverage: Tax year parcel polygons should cover the area of each county for which assessment information is created and digital parcels are available. Full coverage may not be available yet for each county. The county may provide parcels that have been adjusted to remove gaps and overlaps for administrative tax purposes or parcels that retain these expected discrepancies that take their source from the legally described boundary or the process of digital conversion. The diversity of topological approaches will be noted in the metadata. One Tax Parcel Record Per Unique Tax Notice: Some counties produce an annual tax year parcel GIS layer with one parcel polygon per tax notice. In some cases, adjacent parcel polygons that compose a single taxed property must be merged into a single polygon. This is the goal for the statewide layer but may not be possible in all counties. AGRC will provide technical support to counties, where needed, to merge GIS parcel boundaries into the best format to match with the annual assessment information.Standard Coordinate System: Parcels will be loaded into Utah’s statewide coordinate system, Universal Transverse Mercator coordinates (NAD83, Zone 12 North). However, boundaries stored in other industry standard coordinate systems will be accepted if they are both defined within the data file(s) and documented in the metadata (see below).Descriptive Attributes:Database Field/Column Definitions: The table below indicates the field names and definitions for attributes requested for each Tax Parcel Polygon record.FIELD NAME FIELD TYPE LENGTH DESCRIPTION EXAMPLE SHAPE (expected) Geometry n/a The boundary of an individual parcel or merged parcels that corresponds with a single county tax notice ex. polygon boundary in UTM NAD83 Zone 12 N or other industry standard coordinates including state plane systemsCOUNTY_NAME Text 20 - County name including spaces ex. Description

Values in this raster layer represent a scaled index score which corresponds to the relative importance of a given land parcel in regard to the presence of buildings identified as 'Agricultural' as captured in the state assessor's database. Parcels identified as containing buildings with this categorization were then scaled from 0 to 1, with a value of 1 representing the oldest building, and values decreasing for parcels with newer buildings. The grid is a normalized, unit-less index with values ranging from 0 (low importance) to 1 (high importance). This raster is one of 9 inputs used to calculate the "Normalized Importance Index."

    Description

Description: Parcels represent taxable pieces of property. A parcel is created by the San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk (ARCC) to identify a specific portion of real property that is taxed at a certain rate for a certain owner. Tax parcels are typically the same as a legally subdivided lot but are not necessessarily so. For example, a single owner may own a legally subdivided piece of property but there may be two or more tax parcels covering that property. Legal subdivisions are shown in the LOTS layer.Parcels are keyed to the Assessor Parcel Number (APN) and the parcel polygon identifier (PARCELID).The SanGIS parcel layers are “stacked” parcels. That means that for any piece of ground there may be multiple parcels. For example, a condominium building in downtown San Diego may have 200 individual condos. Each condo is a separate taxable parcel. All 200 parcels will be associated with the same physical lot on the ground. When the SanGIS parcel layer is created each individual condo has a polygon representing the physical location of the parent parcel. In this example there will be 200 polygons all stacked on top of each other that represent the taxable parcels and each polygon will have the same physical characteristics (shape, size, area, location) – they are, essentially, copies of each other. However, other associated information (owner, document numbers, etc) will be different for each. In this case, each condo unit will have its own parcel number and there will be no single parcel representing the lot on the ground. Besides condominiums there are two other cases where you will see stacked parcels – possessory interest and mobile homes. Possessory interests have Assessor Parcel Numbers (APNs) that start with 76x. A possessory interest (or PI) parcel represents a taxable interest in the underlying, or parent, parcel but not necessarily ownership. For instance, a private company may have an arrangement with a University to operate a business on campus – a coffee shop or gift shop for example. The private business is taxable and is assigned a 76x APN and that APN is associated with the parent parcel which is owned by the University. Possessory interests do not represent ownership on the parcel, only a taxable interest in the underlying parent parcel.Mobile home parcel APNs start with 77x. In a manner similar to the possessory interests, mobile home owners own their home (coach) but not the underlying property on which the house sits. The actual mobile home is a separate taxable parcel associated with the mobile home park parent parcel. These taxable parcels all have the same polygon as the underlying parent parcel and will show as stacked parcels as well. This dataset contains parcels as shown on the Assessor Parcel Maps (APM). However, parcels shown in this layer may lag that of the official APM by a number of weeks due to how SanGIS is notified of the newly created parcel and the timing of publication of the parcel layer. This dataset contains the parcel polygon and associated parcel information provided by the County ARCC in thier Master Property Record (MPR file) and Parcel Assessment Record (PAR file). In addition to the MPR and PAR data assigned by ARCC, SanGIS may add situs address information if it has been provided by the addressing authority in which the parcel is situated. The situs address information provided by SanGIS may not be the same as the SITUS address data in the MPR.This dataset contains site address information along with owner names and addresses, and other property information. Key fields in this dataset include:Land use information provided in the NUCLEUS_USE_CD field (225 types with a 3-digit domain). The ASR_LANDUSE field is an older version of this field but comprises more generalized land uses (91 types). Generalized land use zoning information is provided in the NUCLEUS_ZONE_CD field. The ASR_ZONE field is an older version of this field. Land use zoning is generalized comprising 9 zone types. This can provide a useful approximation for parcels that are outside of the San Diego City and County zoning jurisdictions. Please note that land use and zoning fields are not regularly maintained by the Assessor's Office and should only be used as an approximate guide. Updates are only made when there is new construction, or a change in ownership. They are not updated when the County and Local Cities update their zoning data or when permit changes to properties are completed. Please refer to city and County official zoning datasets for official zoning information, and to SANDAG for more current land use data.

    Description

Data DictionaryThe Allparcels data set is a thematic layer depicting past, present and future tax year real property parcel boundaries within Snohomish County, Washington based on the legal descriptions contained in the assessment roll. Parcels in this data set are defined as real property entities that can be valued for the purpose of collecting taxes. Parcels include, but are not limited to land, buildings on leased land, mobile homes and condominium units. Parcels may overlap. Parcels such as condominium units and mobile homes that may occupy a single polygon are represented as non-planar features (regions) of the same geographic extent. The Parcels data set does not depict legal ownership boundaries nor does it represent legal building lots. Snohomish County does not maintain parcels for the complete geographic coverage of the county. There is no parcel fabric in much of the eastern mountainous area. This data set is not designed to be used in connection with tabular attribute files. Its sole purpose is for historical tracking of changes in the parcel geometry. For current parcel geometry and tabular attributes, see the Parcels data set.

    Description

We collected open and publicly available data resources from the web from administrative, county- or state-level institutions in the United States and integrated and harmonized cadastral parcel data, tax assessment data, and building footprint data for 33 counties, where building footprint data and building construction year information was available. The result of this effort is a unique dataset which we call the Multi-Temporal Building Footprint Dataset for 33 U.S. Counties (MTBF-33). MTBF-33 contains over 6.2 million building footprints including their construction year, and is available in ESRI Shapefile format (Spatial reference system: SR-ORG:7480), organized per county. We compared the MTBF-33 dataset quantitatively to other building footprint data sources, achieving an overall F-1 score of 0.93. Moreover, we compared the MTBF-33 dataset qualitatively to urban extents from historical maps and find high levels of agreement. The MTBF-33 dataset can be used to support historical building stock assessments, to derive retrospective depictions of built-up areas from 1900 to 2015, at fine spatial and temporal grain and can be used for data validation purposes, or to train statistical learning approaches aiming to extract historical information on human settlements from remote sensing data, historical maps, or similar data sources.
