    Description

    This data set contains the Submerged Lands Act (SLA)boundary line (also known as the State Seaward Boundary (SSB) and Fed State Boundary) for the BOEM Pacific Region in ESRI ArcGIS shape file format. The SLA defines the seaward limit of a state owned submerged lands and the landward boundary of federally managed Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) lands. In the BOEM Pacific Region the SLA is projected 3 nautical miles offshore from the coastal baseline. Further information on the SLA and development of this line from baseline points can be found in OCS Report BOEM 99-0006: Boundary Development on the Outer Continental Shelf. The SLA boundary was developed using nautical charts, topographic maps, and hydrographic surveys to identify coastal baseline points. For California, there was a wide range of map scales used (1:200 – 1:100,000). The Minerals Management Service (MMS - the predecessor bureau to BOEM) used mapping software that was developed in-house to mathematically project the SLA boundary 3 nautical miles seaward from the baseline. For purposes of the SLA, all coordinates are assumed as absolute values with a precision of three decimals of a meter. For purposes other than the SLA, the actual positional precision for a scale of 1:40,000 is approximately 23 meters. In 1992, MMS adopted NADCON v.2.00 or better as the bureau standard horizontal datum transformation software, and reiterated that, for its purposes, “the World Geodetic System of 1984 (WGS 84) is considered equivalent to NAD 83 offshore of Alaska and the conterminous United States.” 57 Fed. Reg. 5168 (February 12, 1992). On December 24, 2014, the SLA boundary offshore of California was fixed (permanently immobilized) by a decree issued by the U.S. Supreme Court. United States v. California, 135 S. Ct. 563 (2014).     Description

    This Archaeological Survey of Ireland dataset is published from the database of the National Monuments Service Sites and Monuments Record (SMR). This dataset also can be viewed and interrogated through the online Historic Environment Viewer: https://heritagedata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=0c9eb9575b544081b0d296436d8f60f8 A Sites and Monuments Record (SMR) was issued for all counties in the State between 1984 and 1992. The SMR is a manual containing a numbered list of certain and possible monuments accompanied by 6-inch Ordnance Survey maps (at a reduced scale). The SMR formed the basis for issuing the Record of Monuments and Places (RMP) - the statutory list of recorded monuments established under Section 12 of the National Monuments (Amendment) Act 1994. The RMP was issued for each county between 1995 and 1998 in a similar format to the existing SMR. The RMP differs from the earlier lists in that, as defined in the Act, only monuments with known locations or places where there are believed to be monuments are included. The large Archaeological Survey of Ireland archive and supporting database are managed by the National Monuments Service and the records are continually updated and supplemented as additional monuments are discovered. On the Historic Environment viewer an area around each monument has been shaded, the scale of which varies with the class of monument. This area does not define the extent of the monument, nor does it define a buffer area beyond which ground disturbance should not take place – it merely identifies an area of land within which it is expected that the monument will be located. It is not a constraint area for screening – such must be set by the relevant authority who requires screening for their own purposes. This data has been released for download as Open Data under the DPER Open Data Strategy and is licensed for re-use under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 Please note that the centre point of each record is not indicative of the geographic extent of the monument. The existing point centroids were digitised relative to the OSI 6-inch mapping and the move from this older IG-referenced series to the larger-scale ITM mapping will necessitate revisions. The accuracy of the derived ITM co-ordinates is limited to the OS 6-inch scale and errors may ensue should the user apply the co-ordinates to larger scale maps. Records that do not refer to 'monuments' are designated 'Redundant record' and are retained in the archive as they may relate to features that were once considered to be monuments but which on investigation proved otherwise. Redundant records may also refer to duplicate records or errors in the data structure of the Archaeological Survey of Ireland. This dataset is provided for re-use in a number of ways and the technical options are outlined below. For a live and current view of the data, please use the web services or the data extract tool in the Historic Environment Viewer. The National Monuments Service also provide an Open Data snapshot of its national dataset in CSV as a bulk data download. Users should consult the National Monument Service website https://www.archaeology.ie/ for further information and guidance on the National Monument Act(s) and the legal significance of this dataset. Open Data Bulk Data Downloads (version date: 23/08/2023) The Sites and Monuments Record (SMR) is provided as a national download in Comma Separated Value (CSV) format. This format can be easily integrated into a number of software clients for re-use and analysis. The Longitude and Latitude coordinates are also provided to aid its re-use in web mapping systems, however, the ITM easting/northings coordinates should be quoted for official purposes. ERSI Shapefiles of the SMR points and SMRZone polygons are also available The SMRZones represent an area around each monument, the scale of which varies with the class of monument.     Description

    These data represents the results of point surveys for birds in west-slope Sierra Nevada forests. There is accompanying habitat data (see Central Sierra Hardwood Study - Habitat) for the survey plots. Please be aware that the coordinates of the points displayed in the text data display of this data set are California Teale-Albers NAD27 projection, but that the data point viewer displays these data points and the background layers in California Teale-Albers NAD83 projection. TIME PERIOD COVERED.The data was collected during the 2003 field season (May-July) by field crews working for California Department of Fish and Game.GEOGRAPHIC EXTENT OF THE RECORDS. Point count locations extend from El Dorado to Tuolumne counties in the central Sierra Nevada between 2000-6000 ft elevation. NUMBER OF RECORDS. There are 64 stands with four landbird point counts per stand. BASE DATA STRUCTURE. The file is a flat excel table which gives the number of landbird species found in each stand. Each stand is represented by two key fields called "Quad" and "Grid" which relate to habitat data from the same plots in another data table. WHAT EACH RECORD REPRESENTS. Each record in the table represents the number of point count locations, average number of individuals, and total number of individuals counted in each stand for each species detected during the counts. There was only one count done at each stand in 2003.

    This dataset provides locations and technical specifications of wind turbines in the United States, almost all of which are utility-scale. Utility-scale turbines are ones that generate power and feed it into the grid, supplying a utility with energy. They are usually much larger than turbines that would feed a homeowner or business.

    The data formats downloadable from the Minnesota Geospatial Commons contain just the Minnesota turbines. Data, maps and services accessed from the USWTDB website provide nationwide turbines.

    The regularly updated database has wind turbine records that have been collected, digitized, and locationally verified. Turbine data were gathered from the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Digital Obstacle File (DOF) and Obstruction Evaluation Airport Airspace Analysis (OE-AAA), the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), and the United States Geological Survey (USGS), and were merged and collapsed into a single data set.

    Verification of the turbine positions was done by visual interpretation using high-resolution aerial imagery in Esri ArcGIS Desktop. A locational error of plus or minus 10 meters for turbine locations was tolerated. Technical specifications for turbines were assigned based on the wind turbine make and models as provided by manufacturers and project developers directly, and via FAA datasets, information on the wind project developer or turbine manufacturer websites, or other online sources. Some facility and turbine information on make and model did not exist or was difficult to obtain. Thus, uncertainty may exist for certain turbine specifications. Similarly, some turbines were not yet built, not built at all, or for other reasons cannot be verified visually. Location and turbine specifications data quality are rated and a confidence is recorded for both. None of the data are field verified.

    This metadata record was adapted by the Minnesota Geospatial Information Office (MnGeo) from the national version of the metadata. It describes the Minnesota extract of the shapefile data that has been projected from geographic to UTM coordinates and converted to Esri file geodatabase (fgdb) format. There may be more recent updates available on the national website. Accessing the data via the national web services or API will always provide the most recent data.

    USGS developed The National Map Gazetteer as the Federal and national standard (ANSI INCITS 446-2008) for geographic nomenclature based on the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS). The National Map Gazetteer contains information about physical and cultural geographic features, geographic areas, and locational entities that are generally recognizable and locatable by name (have achieved some landmark status) and are of interest to any level of government or to the public for any purpose that would lead to the representation of the feature in printed or electronic maps and/or geographic information systems. The dataset includes features of all types in the United States, its associated areas, and Antarctica, current and historical, but not including roads and highways. The dataset holds the federally recognized name of each feature and defines the feature location by state, county, USGS topographic map, and geographic coordinates. Other attributes include names or spellings other than the official name, feature classification, and historical and descriptive information. The dataset assigns a unique, permanent feature identifier, the Feature ID, as a standard Federal key for accessing, integrating, or reconciling feature data from multiple data sets. This dataset is a flat model, establishing no relationships between features, such as hierarchical, spatial, jurisdictional, organizational, administrative, or in any other manner. As an integral part of The National Map, the Gazetteer collects data from a broad program of partnerships with federal, state, and local government agencies and other authorized contributors. The Gazetteer provides data to all levels of government and to the public, as well as to numerous applications through a web query site, web map, feature and XML services, file download services, and customized files upon request. The National Map download client allows free downloads of public domain geographic names data by state in a pipe-delimited text format.     Description

    The information provided in this dataset is categorized/symbolized as either 1) the depth range to which a well or borehole has been drilled or 2) the aquifer or activity status of monitor wells having attached time series data. Only the locations of well/borehole stations currently registered in the SFWMD DBHYDRO database are available for viewing through this mapping application. The inventory of stations in DBHYDRO include wells installed and boreholes drilled by or on behalf of the SFWMD, United States Geological Survey (USGS), United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), state, county and local government agencies, regulated utilities, and oil & gas companies for various purposes. NOTE: This data-set was compiled for the purpose of aiding groundwater resource evaluations.Many of the wells/boreholes owned and/or operated by SFWMD or other entities are included in DBHYDRO, but it is not, and should not be viewed as a comprehensive well inventory. The web layer is created daily using an Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) on the SFWMD wrep Oracle database view “DMDBASE.WELL_MAP_ROLLUP_VW” which itself consolidates information from multiple database tables to produce the map view. The web layer symbolized by the monitoring status and depth range can be customized by filtering on specific attributes. Fields for attributes include, but are not limited to: water supply planning region, county, watershed, water management district, agency, purpose, status (active or inactive), aquifer system or specific aquifer within a system. Each well location is linked to its corresponding station in DBHYDRO from which a variety of data and information on a well can be obtained. These data and information include water level and water quality time series monitoring data, depth, well construction, hydrostratigraphy, lithology, geophysical logs, hydraulic characteristics, and technical reports.The following fields are available for filtering:- Station: The DBHYDRO database station name associated with the well.- Agency: The agency primarily responsible for the monitoring data (The agency to whom data is most recently attributed)- Aquifer: The specific aquifer monitored if applicable- Aq_System: The more general aquifer system monitored if applicable- Depth Drilled: The depth to which the borehole was drilled.
