The state of Oyo alone counted around four thousand senior secondary schools, the highest number in the country.

In the school year 2018/2019, there were roughly 681 thousand junior secondary school teachers in Nigeria, in both private and public schools. The state of Ogun counted over 153 thousand teachers, the largest number nationwide. In the same year, there were about 33 thousand lower secondary schools in Nigeria. The Oyo state alone counted almost 4.6 thousand schools, which was the highest in the country.
