In Brazil, each region has its own cultural identity regarding accent, gastronomy, traditions, all of which may reflect its literature. Specially, we believe that country's background and contextual features are directly related to what people read. Hence, we present an enhanced dataset that comprises cultural, geographic, and socioeconomic information to explore Brazilian cultural identity through reading preference.
As our main data source, we chose the Goodreads website due to the sheer volume of data available and its organized and easily accessible API. We collect data from Brazilian readers through the goodreads library, which provides a Python interface to the Goodreads API. Specifically, we collect members of two of the largest Brazilian reading groups: the "Clube de Leitores em Português" (4,229 members) and the "Goodreads Brasil" (3,222 members). For all members of both groups, we also collect data from their friends. Then, we filter only those containing Brazil as location information from the final users' set. Finally, with the same library, we gather users' bookshelves to assess their reading preferences.
To investigate the Brazilian reading identity, we consider a medley of demographic and socioeconomic data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE): including territorial area, population estimate, demographic density, Human Development Index (HDI), Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and monthly household income per capita. All indicators refer to the year 2020, except the HDI that refers to the year 2017. The data collection was carried out from February 23 to March 04, 2021.
Our final dataset, named as BraCID, comprises:

Abstract: Income variables from the Brazilian population census (IBGE) are often used as proxies for the population’s socioeconomic level in spatial analyses of urban segregation, inequality and social exclusion. However, income variables are dependent on reference values (minimum wage) that change over time, which can be challenging for multitemporal analysis. This paper discusses this issue and proposes a methodology to adjust income data that allows a meaningful comparison between the datasets of two Census periods. The methodology was applied to five medium-sized cities of the state of São Paulo by adjusting income data from Census 2000 and 2010 according to the period’s inflation rates. The analysis shows that the methodology mitigates the comparability issues. Results better reflect the changes in population composition and in residential patterns of different income groups that took place over the 2000s in Brazil in medium-sized cities.

Abstract: The positioning method to be employee in a bathymetric survey is questioned about the horizontal and vertical precisions. In a general way, the vessel positioning in hydrographic surveys has been determined through the Differential GPS (DGPS). Upon consulting the literature, it was observed that few investigations regarding to the precision and accuracy of these methods were done when such surveys occur in reservoirs. Therefore, the main objective of the present work is to perform precisions and accuracies analyzes regarding to positioning of the vessel, through the methods as DGPS, Precise Point Positioning (PPP) and Kinematic Relative Positioning (MPRC). All results were inserted into a Geographic Information System (GIS), in which it was observed that the results were more precise for the MPRC. However, it was concluded that it is also possible to use the IBGE-PPP online service to process the positioning data of the geodetic marks and the vessel getting a precision lower than a meter. In conclusion, all methods investigated for positioning the vessel are in agreement with the specifications of the Resolution ANEEL/ANA nº 03 of August 10th, 2010. Nevertheless, it is important to follow the minimum requirements for each positioning method.
