Designed and produced by the World Wide Web Foundation, the Web Index is the world’s first measure of the World Wide Web’s contribution to social, economic and political progress in countries across the world. http://thewebindex.org/about/ Scores are given in the areas of universal access; freedom and openness; relevant content; and empowerment. First released in 2012, the 2014-15 Index has been expanded and refined to include a total of 86 countries and features an enhanced data set, particularly in the areas of gender, Open Data, privacy rights and censorship. The Index combines existing secondary data with new primary data derived from an evidence-based expert assessment survey. The Web Index provides an objective and robust evidence base to inform public dialogue on the steps needed for societies to leverage greater value from the Web. It is published annually and resources permitting, it will continue to be expanded to cover more countries in the coming years. It will eventually allow for comparisons of trends over time and the benchmarking of performance across countries, continuously improving our understanding of the Web’s value for humanity.

The Environmental Integrity Index (EII) is a tool developed by the City of Austin’s Environmental Resource Management Division to monitor and assess the ecological integrity and the degree of impairment in Austin’s watersheds. This feature class provides the most recent results from the EII for the City of Austin Watershed Protection Department’s Masterplanning process. Similarly, the Austin Lakes Index was designed to provide a yearly assessment of the ecological integrity of Lake Austin, Lady Bird Lake, and Lake Long. Index scores (from both the EII and ALI) are an integer between 0 and 100. Excellent 88-100 | Very Good 76-87 | Good 63-75 | Fair 51-62 | Marginal38-50 | Poor 26-37 | Bad 13-25 | Very Bad 0-12. Problem Scores are an integer between 1 and 100 with 1 being "No Problem" and 100 being a highest priority. The Logistics Performance Index overall score reflects perceptions of a country's logistics performance based on the efficiency of the customs clearance process, quality of trade- and transport-related infrastructure, ease of arranging competitively priced international shipments, quality of logistics services, ability to track and trace consignments, and frequency with which shipments reach the consignee within the scheduled time. The index ranges from 1 to 5, with a higher score representing better performance. Data are from the Logistics Performance Index surveys conducted by the World Bank in partnership with academic and international institutions and private companies and individuals engaged in international logistics. The 2018 round of surveys covered close to 6,000 country assessments by around 1,000 international freight forwarders. Respondents evaluate eight economies on six core dimensions on a scale from 1 (worst) to 5 (best). The economies are chosen based on the most important export and import markets of the respondent's country, random selection, and, for landlocked countries, neighboring countries that connect them with international markets. Scores for the six areas are averaged across all respondents and aggregated to a single score using principal components analysis. Details of the survey methodology and index construction methodology are available in Arvis, Ojala, Wiederer, Shepherd, Raj, Dairabayeva, Kiiski (2018): "Connecting to Compete 2018: The Logistics Performance Index and Its Indicators", available at lpi.worldbank.org, see Appendix 5 for methodology.

Key information about Vietnam Global Competitiveness Index
SCHOOL PROFICIENCY INDEXSummaryThe school proficiency index uses school-level data on the performance of 4th grade students on state exams to describe which neighborhoods have high-performing elementary schools nearby and which are near lower performing elementary schools. The school proficiency index is a function of the percent of 4th grade students proficient in reading (r) and math (m) on state test scores for up to three schools (i=1,2,3) within 1.5 miles of the block-group centroid. S denotes 4th grade school enrollment:Elementary schools are linked with block-groups based on a geographic mapping of attendance area zones from School Attendance Boundary Information System (SABINS), where available, or within-district proximity matches of up to the three-closest schools within 1.5 miles. In cases with multiple school matches, an enrollment-weighted score is calculated following the equation above. Please note that in this version of the data (AFFHT0004), there is no school proficiency data for jurisdictions in Kansas, West Virginia, and Puerto Rico because no data was reported for jurisdictions in these states in the Great Schools 2013-14 dataset. InterpretationValues are percentile ranked and range from 0 to 100. The higher the score, the higher the school system quality is in a neighborhood. Data Source: Great Schools (proficiency data, 2015-16); Common Core of Data (4th grade school addresses and enrollment, 2015-16); Maponics (attendance boundaries, 2016).Related AFFH-T Local Government, PHA and State Tables/Maps: Table 12; Map 7.
