This file, from INSEE’s “full files” database, presents communal data for 86 housing indicators. Since 2004, the census has been based on an annual collection of information, covering successively all municipalities with less than 10000 inhabitants and 40 % of dwellings in municipalities with more than 10000 inhabitants over a five-year period. Each year, census results are produced from the five most recent annual surveys, abandoning information from the oldest survey and taking into account the new survey. Some indicators are subject to statistical confidentiality (indicated “s”) to ensure the confidentiality of the data. They are therefore not distributed to all municipalities. The list of variables is proposed in the metadata.Presented by municipality, they relate in particular to the inhabitants of the dwelling (number, seniority of occupation, possession of a car), the number and characteristics of housing (house/apartment, private/social, number of rooms, date of construction, comfort), vacancy, etc. Metadata Link to metadata Additional resources * Local statistical site INSEE: This INSEE website allows a cartographic visualisation of a large number of data and indicators, including those proposed on this page. It allows the comparison between the territories (communes, EPCI, etc.) and the download of the selected data. * Site data.gouv.fr: This open and community platform, moderated by the Digital Interministerial Directorate (DINUM), aims to centralise and structure open data in France. Among the many datasets it proposes is the directory of rental housing of social landlords, a very rich source of information on social housing. An extraction of this data on the territory of the Seine-Maritime is also proposed on this site.

Number of dwellings in the Pays de la Loire Region by category (main residence, second home and occasional housing, vacant housing) by municipality in 2019. Municipal geography as of 1 January 2022. Definitions and fact sheets: * ‘HTTPS://WWW.INSEE.FR/FR/INFORMATION/2383177’ The population census makes it possible to know the diversity and evolution of the population of France. INSEE thus provides statistics on inhabitants and dwellings, their number and characteristics:distribution by sex and age, occupations, housing conditions, modes of transport, commuting, etc. Staff over 500 can normally be used with confidence. Staff below 200 should be handled with caution, as due to the inaccuracy associated with the survey, they may not be significant. Comparisons between territories of small sizes should be prohibited. For areas with less than 2000 inhabitants, it is recommended not to use data from the complementary farm. For more methodological information, you can consult the fact sheets “Tips for the use of census results” by clicking on the link ‘https://www.insee.fr/fr/information/2383177’ These fact sheets present the new features of the population census and discuss their impact on the use of the data. In particular, they specify the changes affecting the main statistical variables and their comparability with previous censuses. NB: due to the COVID-19 health crisis, the annual census survey to be held in 2021 was postponed to 2022. INSEE has adapted its methods of calculating legal populations to compensate for this postponement and continue to produce quality legal populations each year. Thus from the dissemination of legal populations 2019, INSEE recommends making comparisons of results over a period of 6 years and this until the 2023 census included. The adaptation of the methods is presented in this document:

This dataset comes from INSEE’s Macro-Economic Data Bank. The BDM is the main database of series and indices on all economic and social fields. It makes available all the information necessary for the economic diagnosis, and more generally for the analysis of fluctuations in economic activity, at global and sectoral levels, in a harmonised presentation, for a set of series from multiple sources.

France Manufactured Homes Market size was valued at USD 3 Billion in the year 2024, and it is expected to reach USD 4.27 Billion in 2032, at a CAGR of 4.5% over the forecast period of 2026 to 2032.
Key Market Drivers:
Housing Affordability Crisis: France faces significant housing affordability challenges, particularly in cities. Manufactured homes offer an affordable alternative to traditional housing. According to Eurostat, housing prices in France increased by about 25% between 2015 and 2023, while wages grew by only 10%. According to the French National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), over 40% of French households in major cities spend more than one-third of their income on housing. Manufactured homes are typically priced 20-30% lower than traditional construction, making them attractive options.
Rural Revitalization Initiatives: Government programs to revitalize rural areas are providing opportunities for manufactured housing solutions.

These data come from the INSEE, the Sit@del2 database, the social rental park (RPLS) directory and the CDC. They are valued in the annual publication of the Atlas of Housing and Territories (Land banks), see reference below.
The data refer to the years N-2 compared to the year of publication indicated, except for the unemployment rate (Q4 N-1) and the poverty rate (N-3).
