MassGIS' standardized ("Level 3") property tax parcel mapping data set was developed through a competitive procurement funded by MassGIS. Each community in the Commonwealth was bid on by one or more vendors and the unit of work awarded was a city or town. The specification for this work was Level 3 of the MassGIS Digital Parcel Standard. Standardization of assessor parcel mapping is complete for all 351 Massachusetts' cities and towns. MassGIS is now incorporating updates from municipalities into the database. This hosted feature layer is exported from MassGIS' internal database of the feature class GISDATA.L3_TAXPAR_POLY_ASSESS, which links L3_TAXPAR_POLY and L3_ASSESS. The export includes the expression: (POLY_TYPE IN ('FEE', 'TAX')) OR (POLY_TYPE IN ('ROW', 'PRIV_ROW', 'RAIL_ROW', 'WATER') AND PROP_ID IS NOT NULL) It contains several fields from GISDATA.L3_ASSESS and stacked polygons where multiple assessor records link to a parcel. It contains features that do not have an associated record in GISDATA.L3_ASSESS, except for rights of way and water bodies. ROWs and water bodies with a non-null PROP_ID are included. The data in this feature layer is used for the popups in the Massachusetts Interactive Property Map. See full data descriptionA hosted tile layer will draw very quickly at map scale of 1:18,056 (level 15) to 1:564 (level 20).

The Resources box to the right includes links to an Interactive Mapping App, an FTP site and a Data Dictionary that together provide access to compiled data from the primary ground-sampling programs managed by the Forest Analysis and Inventory Branch (FAIB). The following is a summary of what’s available in the two links: 1) The Interactive Mapping App provides a spatial view of FAIB ground plots with custom filters to enable selection of areas, BEC zones, species, TSA or plot types of interest. Once plots of interest are selected or filtered, an ‘export data’ button is available to download a plot summary file with limited attributes. 2) The Compiled Ground Plot FTP site contains tree- and plot-level compiled mensurational attributes for each ground plot across a series of repeated measurements. Both the PSP and non-PSP compilation outputs include a Data Dictionary that describes all the tables and attributes found in the downloadable files. FAIB ground-sampling programs include the Permanent Sample Plots (PSPs) that provide long term growth and yield information to support development and testing of growth-and-yield models. Active PSPs are the only plot type protected from harvesting. The Provincial Change Monitoring Inventory (CMI), Provincial Young Stand Monitoring (YSM) and National Forest Inventory (NFI) programs monitor the changes in growth, mortality, and forest health from statistically valid populations. Vegetation Resource Inventory (VRI) plots are used to audit and verify key spatial inventory attributes estimated during photo interpretation.

Land located within the Eugene Urban Growth Area is zoned to provide areas suitable for certain types of development. Each zone provides a set of regulations governing the uses, building setbacks, height, and other development standards. Property may also be subject to an overlay zone. The overlay establishes additional regulations beyond the base zone to address specific community objectives, such as protection of environmentally sensitive areas or improving the efficient use of public transit. In some cases, overlays may provide an exception to the standard regulations for the base zone.Base Zones: Land located within the Eugene Urban Growth Boundary is zoned to provide areas suitable for certain types of development.
