Public Information is a configurable app template that highlights areas through authoritative data feeds and social content, allowing the public to contribute to your map. Use CasesEnhance your map by overlaying social media feeds on your operational layers. Displays geotagged social media contributions to understand what is trending through these networks centered on your theme and location. This is a good choice when you want to assess local sentiment on current events.Use a swipe tool to hide and reveal a layer within your map. This is a good choice for inspecting the difference between two scenarios. For example, you could show the difference between current sea level and a projected rise in sea level, or visualize an area before and after a tornado where the map view may want to closely inspect the difference between the scenarios at a large scale.Configurable OptionsPublic Information present content from a web map with social media feeds and can be configured using the following options:Provide a title and description, as well as configure a custom splash screen that displays when the app is first loaded.Set up an interactive layer for taking notes. This is a map notes layer contained in the web map.Enable a swipe layer and choose between vertical or horizontal orientation.Determine a default and alternate basemap to be offered in an on screen basemap widget.Enable layers to be generated via content from Instagram, Flickr, Twitter, Webcams.travel, and YouTube.Configure the ability for feature and location search.Enable or disable many UI and mapping configurable options such as overview map, bookmarks, share dialog, legend, summary information, views count, modified date, etc.Supported DevicesThis application is responsively designed to support use in browsers on desktops, mobile phones, and tablets.Data RequirementsThis application has no data requirements.Get Started This application can be created in the following ways:Click the Create a Web App button on this pageShare a map and choose to Create a Web AppOn the Content page, click Create - App - From Template Click the Download button to access the source code. In 2014, BWSR received a grant from LCCMR (Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources) to produce a geospatial database template (i.e. with empty feature classes and tables) designed to contain Minnesota Statute 103E public drainage system data from local drainage authorities (e.g. Counties, Watershed Districts). The template is intended to help drainage authorities modernize and better manage their drainage system records. In addition, the template puts the data into a consistent, standardized form that makes is more readily accessible to users such as hydrologists and water managers.
However, as a result of a stipulation for receiving the grant, BWSR requires that those drainage authorities that use the template make their hydrographic data (ditch/tile centerlines, drainage structures, profile points and watershed boundaries) available annually to the public via the Geospatial Commons. Click the View button below to download the template package.
For guidance on how to use the template to modernize your drainage records please watch the DRM Template User Webinar. Also, for step-by-step instructions please see the recently updated Drainage Records Modernization Guidelines.
For more information on the project itself see the Drainage Records Modernization and GIS Database (DRMGD) Project section on https://bwsr.state.mn.us/drainage-minnesota. Also, CLICK HERE to see an interactive web map of example drainage records.

This resource links to the Hurricane Harvey 2017 Story Map (Esri ArcGIS Online web app) [1] that provides a graphical overview and set of interactive maps to download flood depth grids, flood extent polygons, high water marks, stream gage observations, National Water Model streamflow forecasts, and several other datasets compiled before, during and after Hurricane Harvey.
November 2023 updates: Esri has deprecated the previous story map template, so a new story map has been generated. Most of the content is the same as before, with these exceptions: - The Vulnerabilities and the Harvey Stories pages have been removed, due to nonfunctioning web links to other Harvey resources out of our control. - Story map links to HydroShare resource pages have been updated to the most current HydroShare resource versions.

Use the Streamflow Viewer template to allow app users fast visualization to explore streamflow forecasts. This app includes the GEOGLOWS Streamflow Model map service, a 10-day river forecast from the European Centre for Medium-range Weather Forecasting (ECMWF). This app also includes the United States National Water Model, a 10-day forecast model for river streamflow across the contiguous United States from the NOAA's National Water Prediction Service. Both models are reported in 3-hour time intervals and updated daily. App users can interact with a chart showing the return period flow for a specific stream segment and animate changes in forecast data for each stream segment using the time slider. Examples: Create an app that helps alert app users to potential flooding. Compare streamflow forecast data to historical data through a chart. Embed this app to include an interactive map in your website. Data requirements The Streamflow Viewer template has no data requirements. Key app capabilities Time slider - A preconfigured time slider animates the GeoGloWS Streamflow forecast data in the map. Streamflow chart - Visualize the complete daily forecast time series for a selected stream. Bookmarks - Enable bookmarks configured in the Map Viewer to include a collection of preset extents. Basemap toggle - Change the look of the map by switching to a different basemap. Disable scroll - Prevent the map from zooming when app users scroll. Disable scrolling in the map if the app will be used primarily on a mobile device or embedded in a website. Attribute filter - Configure map filter options that are available to app users for both the streamflow forecast layers and the map layers. Home, Zoom controls, Legend, Layer List, Search Supportability This web app is designed responsively to be used in browsers on desktops, mobile phones, and tablets. We are committed to ongoing efforts towards making our apps as accessible as possible. Please feel free to leave a comment on how we can improve the accessibility of our apps for those who use assistive technologies.
