    Description

Data on Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) includes information on Palau's forests 2013-2014. The Pacific Northwest Forest Inventory and Analysis (PNW-FIA) program measures and compiles data on plots in coastal Alaska, California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, and U.S.- affiliated Pacific Islands. Most data are available in Access databases and can be downloaded by clicking one of the links below. PNW data are combined with data from all states in the U.S. and stored in the national FIADB. Data for any state can be accessed on the national website (see links to national tools below). Please be aware that some documents may be very large. The PNW-FIA Program shifted from a periodic to an annual inventory system in 2001. Periodic inventories sampled primarily timberland plots outside of national forests and most reserved areas, in a single state within a 2- or 3-year window. Typically, re-assessments occurred every ten years in the West. For the annual inventory in the Pacific Northwest all forested plots are now sampled, with one-tenth of the plots in any given state being visited annually. A full annual inventory cycle is complete in ten years. To download and use the FIA Database, follow this link https://www.fs.fed.us/pnw/rma/fia-topics/inventory-data

    Description

The Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) research program has been in existence since mandated by Congress in 1928. FIA's primary objective is to determine the extent, condition, volume, growth, and depletion of timber on the Nation's forest land. Before 1999, all inventories were conducted on a periodic basis. The passage of the 1998 Farm Bill requires FIA to collect data annually on plots within each State. This kind of up-to-date information is essential to frame realistic forest policies and programs. Summary reports for individual States are published but the Forest Service also provides data collected in each inventory to those interested in further analysis. Data is distributed via the FIA DataMart in a standard format. This standard format, referred to as the Forest Inventory and Analysis Database (FIADB) structure, was developed to provide users with as much data as possible in a consistent manner among States. A number of inventories conducted prior to the implementation of the annual inventory are available in the FIADB. However, various data attributes may be empty or the items may have been collected or computed differently. Annual inventories use a common plot design and common data collection procedures nationwide, resulting in greater consistency among FIA work units than earlier inventories. Links to field collection manuals and the FIADB user's manual are provided in the FIA DataMart.

    Description

Building a comprehensive data inventory as required by section 6.3 of the Directive on Open Government: “Establishing and maintaining comprehensive inventories of data and information resources of business value held by the department to determine their eligibility and priority, and to plan for their effective release.” Creating a data inventory is among the first steps in identifying federal data that is eligible for release. Departmental data inventories has been published on the Open Government portal, Open.Canada.ca, so that Canadians can see what federal data is collected and have the opportunity to indicate what data is of most interest to them, helping departments to prioritize data releases based on both external demand and internal capacity. The objective of the inventory is to provide a landscape of all federal data. While it is recognized that not all data is eligible for release due to the nature of the content, departments are responsible for identifying and including all datasets of business values as part of the inventory exercise with the exception of datasets whose title contains information that should not be released to be released to the public due to security or privacy concerns. These titles have been excluded from the inventory. Departments were provided with an open data inventory template with standardized elements to populate, and upload in the metadata catalogue, the Open Government Registry. These elements are described in the data dictionary file. Departments are responsible for maintaining up-to-date data inventories that reflect significant additions to their data holdings. For purposes of this open data inventory exercise, a dataset is defined as: “An organized collection of data used to carry out the business of a department or agency, that can be understood alone or in conjunction with other datasets”. Please note that the Open Data Inventory is no longer being maintained by Government of Canada organizations and is therefore not being updated. However, we will continue to provide access to the dataset for review and analysis.

    Description

This occurrence dataset provides primary data on repeated tree measurement of two inventories on the permanent sampling plot (8.8 ha) established in the old-growth polydominant broadleaved forest stand in the “Kaluzhskie Zaseki” State Nature Reserve (center of the European part of Russian Federation). The time span between the inventories was 30 years, and a total of more than 11 000 stems were included in the study (11 tree species and 3 genera). During the measurements, the tree species (for some trees only genus was determined), stem diameter at breast height of 1.3 m (DBH), and life status were recorded for every individual stem, and some additional attributes were determined for some trees. Field data were digitized and compiled into the PostgreSQL database. Deep data cleaning and validation (with documentation of changes) has been performed before data standardization according to the Darwin Core standard.

    Description

There are eight downloadable files for this data; for the years 2013 to 2023 from the resource links.

The Pollution Inventory (PI) has been developed to collate information on annual mass releases of specified substances to air controlled waters and sewers as well as quantities of waste transferred off site from large industrial sites regulated by the Agency.

This replaced the Chemical Release Inventory (CRI) in 1998 and is sometimes referred to as the Inventory of Sources and Releases (ISR).

The reporting requirements for the PI encompass emissions from the whole of the authorisation license or permit. This includes non-point sources and fugitive emissions (e.g. leaks) along with the specific release points (point sources e.g. chimneys).

All authorisations for large industrial sites (i.e. those under IPPC and now EPR) have a condition requiring the annual reporting of releases of a core (reportable) list of substances and groups of substances. These are substances considered to be important in relation to environmental protection. Attribution statement: © Environment Agency copyright and/or database right 2025. All rights reserved.

The National Bridge Inventory Elements dataset is as of June 27, 2024 from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)/Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) National Transportation Atlas Database (NTAD). The data describes more than 615,000 of the Nation's bridges located on public roads, including Interstate Highways, U.S. highways, State and county roads, as well as publicly-accessible bridges on Federal and Tribal lands. The inventory data present a complete picture of the location, description, classification, and general condition data for each bridge. The element data present a breakdown of the condition of each structural and bridge management element for each bridge on the National Highway System (NHS). The Specification for the National Bridge Inventory Bridge Elements contains a detailed description of each data element including coding instructions and attribute definitions. The Coding Guide is available at: https://doi.org/10.21949/1519106.
